First off welcome to the forum.

As for your problem with the glow plugs the best way to diagnose any sort of a short-circuit like that is not by burning up the glow plugs set after set but instead use a car headlight bulb the old-style sealed beam units.

It doesn't matter how much power you apply to a headlight bulb the resistance coil will only take a certain load and you cannot overpower a headlight bulb.

However in theory a glow plug it is really only a headlight with no glass around it so I don't understand how you can be burning up glow plugs.

Is it possible that your battery or alternator are defective and your tractor does not have 12 V in the system?

I think you cannot go wrong with either a John Deere or a Kubota. Great machines. Cannot comment as to the thinking at Derre on the Family nomenclature they have adopted, I guess it can be helpful to pick a family and stick to em :-(

I seem to remember a few years back this problem came up as well at the time the factory gave an extended warranty because they initially blamed it on the front end loader but since the loader is a Deere product as well that didn't hold water very well.

Try googling something like "John Deere front end loader causes problems" and see if something comes up.

We had front axle bearing problems with a few of our Kubota's a number of years ago and at the time they tried to say it was from over loading the front end loader. However I was able to quickly show them that the forces would bend the loader far before they would break the front wheel bearings. They didn't want to try and fight that battle. It only happened for one model years worth of tractors and almost every one of that year that we had bought never again never before so I suspect there was a out of spec problem.

UPDATE!!! Hi guys! I finally was able to buy some wheels for my Cub. I went with 6" wide X 16" rims with a 4 1/2" backside offset from All States Ag parts for $172 delivered and 7x16-6 ply Harvest King R-1 lug tires from a guy on Ebay for $249 delivered. All in, $441 including mounting! I have about 20 hours on them and I absolutely love them! No problems shifting in or out of 4wd. And, this may sound crazy but, I FEEL like the tractor has more horsepower! Maybe I was not aware of how much power I was loosing thru wheel slippage. Now, when I push into a mulch or dirt pile, she just keeps getting it!!! I can go up and down my hills at significantly higher speed. When I load my FEL, my tires don't squat anymore and I don't feel like I am going to roll the tires off of the rims! The lugs on these new tires are almost 1" compared to the old Goodyear Suretrac lugs which were 5/8" when new and were down to 3/8" by 100 hours!
No downside to this swap. Thank You to all for your advice!
I will update with wear test of lug depth after I get more hours on them.

That's great you found the filter...mine looks like a pain in the a** to take apart....so I am leaving it alone.
Did you find the electric connecters that go to the lift
arm system under the seat ? If you use a test light to see
if you have power on the down side connector while the lever is in the down position that could be the problem.
( But stay clear of that brush hog while working on that electrical ) I think there are some type of solenoids
at the lift arms connectors that activates the up & down position. It may be as simple as switch those connectors one to the other...because the up one is working it sounds like....I don't know if you have the same system as mine.

Cycling causes lots of problems for men. The normal bike seat cuts off circulation to the boys down under. Suggest you get a new seat; either the easy seat or easy seat II. It feels kinda weird at first. You actually sit on your hip bones and the center section is cut away.

Some years back I injured one of the boys and it had an infection that caused PSA readings upward of 6. My normal is 0 to 1/2. It took almost a year of heavy antibiotics to fix the problem.

Took my transmission cover off and ground the bar deeper so it wouldn't<br>
always jump out of low range. But now I can not get low and high range, <br>

lifting cover off again, the lever assembly fell off and I found part of a keyway. Not sure where keyway goes? Can any one help me fix these problems? I really need the tractor for field work.

In practice, what it does is vary the hydraulic return flow to the sump. Turn it one way for heavy implements, the other way for light (or none).

The one on the left side might actually be your problem. It's a diverter valve, changing the direction of flow from the three point hitch to the rear remote (which is likely capped off). Try turning it in the opposite direction and see if your rear lift starts working.

The one on the right side simply raises and lowers the rear lift.

The one in front of the brake pedals is the priority valve, which splits fluid off the main circuit for use in the steering sub-circuit.

Thought I would post an update. My Gator still takes 4 to 5 seconds to shut down after I turn off the key. That's no big deal. Also, I haven't had any more problem with the fuel solenoid. I ran a tank of gas through it that had a good shot of Marvel Mystery Oil in it. I also use a little extra fuel stablizer. I don't get to drive my Gator very often, but it is a lifesaver when I use it. I borrowed a tubing bender and made me a sun / rain shield using metal electrical conduit for the frame. Made a fitted top from a 5 X 7 tarp. Found an oversize (not big truck size) rearview mirror at a yard sale that I adapted to use on the Gator. It is mounted on the driver's side of the wraparound front bumper. Works pretty good, but had a lot of vibration.

if possible take a photo with your smartphone and enlarge it so you can see it giant size. If you can touch it clean and run a Sharpie marker over it and take the picture again.....

Honestly I think it is time poorly spent to try a band aid repair where that housing is relied upon for the structural integrity of the tractor.... and as you can see the original housing culd not take the stress :( IMHO
