The OP's profile says he has a JD 318.

If you're suddenly blowing fuses on the electric clutch circuit I'd start tracking the wiring to it. Blown fuses indicate too much current, but when they blow as you engage the circuit, it usually indicates a short circuit.

I've been on many cruises, my Ex was a fan of them.

To me they are nothing more than a mobile hotel, you can 'check in' in one city, see 3 or 4 more, then get dropped back to where you started.

In my mind, if I want to visit another country, I want to be there for more than a few hours.

I work in a sand and gravel operation. We use water truck for dust control. My pick up stays a mess. Use the drive thru's during the winter when I can't stand it any more. During the summer have the Hotsey out often and wash truck. Do a hand job on truck a couple of times a year.

Now the Harley's are another story. Minimum of weekly usually every ride either complete hand job or quickie with pressure washer to remove bug guts. They are detailed at least every 2 weeks with quickie polish each wash getting the hi points.

During the week if just a couple of short trips I may not wash, just do windshield.

Filled with deisel and think there was some water in it. Tractor ran for a while and then just shut down. I knew the filter was old so changed it, which it needed. Had to take fuel lines off filter to replace it. Reconnected it all then lostened the main gas line and let it bleed any water i seen out. Tried to bleed everything up to the enjector bleed screw. Once i got fuel to it i locked it down and pumped thebprimer pump about 10 more times. Tractor started up and ran for about 5 mins and shut off. Can bleed it again and does same thing. I took whit i think is the feed pump apart was a little corroded so cleaned up. Had nut with heavy spring and inside a little cup looking thing spring set it. I freed it all up bleed everything again and same thing. Acts like as long as injector pump has fuel it runs fine. Please help

First make sure your PTO is out of gear.
If your clutch is adjusted to spec and the linkage is not flexing or bending the clutch may be froze to the flywheel.
Make sure you have the Free Travel, that inch or 2 the clutch goes down before it starts to release the clutch.

Your model I do not know exactly. Mine was not releasing.The Clutch plate was stuck to the flywheel.

Mine had a access plate in the area where you adjust the clutch. I did the same thing we used to do for old trucks.

Had my wife push in the clutch
I placed a small cold chisel on the flywheel face so when I hit the chisel it would go between the clutch and flywheel. Hit the chisel a couple of solid blows. It made a dent in the clutch material bit no big deal. You may or may not see the clutch break loose from the flywheel.

With the tractor out of gear start the tractor and let it run for a couple of minutes. Push the clutch in and out a few times while you rev the engine up a little. If the chisel did not break it loose completly the centrifical torque should finish breaking it loose. Try shifting into one of your lower gears to see if the clutch is released.

If that did not do it I would try the chisel and run it one more time.

Last resort if the clutch still will not work. This last one is what I would do on my own tractor. Not recommending you do it but could work. I would start adjusting the clutch to increase the free travel (that inch or so the clutch pedal goes down before it starts to actually start doing anything to release the clutch. Increase the free travel a little (1/8-1/4 inch) at a time and test it.

Rotary hammer is the only way to deal with boring rock in very small projects. Retired from 40 years in heavy construction, I've been around rock drilling a few times. A rock drill operates on high volume air, water isn't used in just about all cases as the bit is hollow and air blows through it all the time keeping the hole clean. It's an expensive and heavy operation using about $100,000.00 worth of equipment, not something for the home handy man. Just my 2 cents. PJ

You mean to say equipment needs to be cared for? A little grease along and along can mean a lot. Same for oil and washing something clean also.

Think the idea of changing the fluid on tractor you just got is good but doubt knocking is caused by water in the fluid but there is a lot I don't know. Do be sure you have the transmission filled fully and not running dry.

Does the knocking start as soon as you engage the cutter or does it require the tractor running for a while to get fluid hot? To me if water in the fluid is the issue, it would change as the temp of the oil heats up.

What hp is that tractor? Are you sure an 8 foot cutter is not too large for it? If so you might damage the PTO system of the tractor. Have know of the clutch being destroyed that way.

I would begin with the simplest and lowest cost options: pull the pto shaft off and be sure the universal joints are good. If you have another shaft that will fit or can try that shaft on another piece of equipment do so to see if the noise goes away or remains.

One other test, with cutter running and the knocking noise try lowering the lift taking full weight off of it. It might be the hyd system is having it's hands full with the weight of the cutter giving a noise there.

This all is based upon being 100% certain the noise is not in the cutter. Do check cutter for oil in gear box and blades okay and such.

Reading Agri Supply's site I understood the different shaft designs (of the shaft it self not the ends) was for different HP ratings. Is that just with the brand they carry? If memory is correct the three sided shafts I have are lighter weight then the square shafts are. Which are lighter rated shafts again if my memory is correct.

The CVT (constantly variable transmission) design is very effective for mileage but a real dog with regard to performance. The 6-speed automatic transmissions have been a great improvement over the older 4-speed designs. They are being replaced with 8, 9 & 10 speed designs. I drove an 8 speed in a Dodge Charger with Hemi last year which takes some getting accustomed to. (If you like a performance ride and a full sized car, you owe it to yourself to test drive one of these.) The shifter movement is different. This 8 speed is a German design that is also being used by BMW and a few others.

All of these take a little to get accustomed to, but do give better mileage while performance is decent almost like a manual transmission. The onboard computer has a slight hesitation. My 2012 Dodge Journey has a 6 speed automatic with 283 HP VVT V-6. If at 55 mph you pull out to pass and step on the accelerator nothing happens for a split second (it has to decide how far to shift down) then it kicks in and acceleration is good. As you pull in, you're doing about 80 mph. I found that if you step on it and then step on it more while it is thinking it seems to get confused and the hesitation is slightly longer yet before it kicks down a couple more gears before your head snaps back. Its rated 283 HP acts more like over 300 HP.

$I have a 2005 New Holland TC24DA tractor with a LA loader with about 2,100 hrs. Yesterday I discovered a hairline fracture located in the rear transmission casting which is seeping hydraulic fluid. Searching through archives of previous post it appears this has been a problem with New Holland TC series tractors. My tractor still is in excellent running condition and looks almost like new. Has anyone ever tried to weld the casting along with providing additional supports in order to not have to spend a fortune replacing the broken structural casting?$ TC24DA rear transmission cracking
