I have used a 3 pth one that will hold about 7 to 800 pounds of fertilizer on a B2700 Kubota. Would think a small 3pth would work fine. As to being to much of load for pto doubt it would unless you have a big auger in the spreader. Some have almost nothing in there to stir the fertilizer, like mine.

I would say that is an indication of how heavy the unit is built. A 7 foot rake can really pull a large amount of dirt and such. Think mine is 7 foot and use it normally on a 27 hp tractor and it works well. Have used it on much larger tractor and the issue is do not over load it. The frame is not that heavy of metal but wide spread load has never been an issue for me.

I have a Model 860 Ford tractor, with a Serial number of 8751. The 860 tells me it's a 1955, but the serial tells me it's a 1954. It also has no nuts on the rear hubs, which would indicate a 1955. Any help would be much appreciated.<br>

My JD 5103's 3 pt. hitch will only lift about 4" loaded or empty. I can, however, fully lift the hitch with the draft control lever.<br>
I have been told the valve may be stuck. Is there any way to check/free the lift valve?

I did get them mixed up. Ordered some tie rods from the Minn outfit. Very nice people, prompt service, correct parts.

Tie rods were simple to replace in concept, difficult to execute due to the extensive rust. Will work more on electrical, might have to mostly bypass the stock electrical harness. Still wondering if I should tackle the brake bands.

Just got me a 445 long not real pretty in sure of the year but has been sitting up for about 5 years in a barn I paid 1300 for it sort of a gamble. Starter been rebuilt and new fuel filter used battery where done by the previous owner. Fuel system still need cleaning and inspection. Defiantly need some TLC the wiring is another concern going to need a schematic I'm sure. Battery doesn't seem to be all that hot the owner told me he could turn it over and get white smoke. So basically my question is is there any obvious place to really start I want to make sure she runs and shift and get an idea of where I'm at with her.

I'm trying to replace the flexible coupling on the drive shaft, have removed all bolts but can't get enough play to remove the old pads. Any help out there?

My son and I have been trying our hand at trout fishing this season.

So far we have seen lots of people who have caught trout, but we are still empty handed.

Been trying to go to the stream as soon as is legal after the stocking day to no avail.

I have migrated from using worms to using powerbait. We got advice from an angler with 5 trout on his belt to get shorter light rod 4 to 4.5 feet, and use 4lb line, no swivels, tie your hook directly to line use very small weight.

We went out again last night with new Ugly Stiks light short rods and tackle as advised, as we drove to the stream true to form we saw a kid about nine being photographed by his dad with the biggest trout I have ever seen!

Well we were angling for a couple of hours and I'd have to say no bites, no strikes whatsoever, could of been in a bathtub at home.

We are still using 6 lb line as the 4 lb was sold out, doubt that would make a difference. We will keep at it.

Sooner or later I may have to go to the fish market and buy some trout so the wife thinks we are not complete duds LOL

Wish I had looked at this before I bought a Pequea chipper.
My observations on the machine I have:

Nominal 5" size three point hitch hydraulic feed

The machine feed, as mentioned is not very good.
The discharge chute is very prone to plugging. It's cross section area is much larger than the blower outlet. I figure that the air flow slows right down when it enters the chute and the chips just hang there. I made a smaller cross section chute to solve the problem when I got not help from Pequea.
The hydraulic safety valve control leaver was made so that it bound against the chute plate and broke the connection pin. I fixed that.

The rotor is fastened to the main shaft with a taper lock bushing system. The factory had not tightened the bushing. The rotor walked on the shaft till the knives contacted the cutting anvil. Pequea sent me a new set of knives and anvil.
No offer of compensation for my time trouble shooting and fixing

The frame welding at the point where the top link connects had minimal penetration. The weld broke. The dealer fixed it but the welder was not at all skilled so the job looks terrible.
So, within months of purchase, the machine looks like its been to war and only works poorly
