I have a Long 360 1983 that has the bracket for a differential lock but the hole in the case has been plugged off If I got the parts needed would it be much of a job to install a differential lock ? any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated . Trevor

I am looking at a kubota 1860, a little over 3 years old. a good price, $9200 with FEL, mid mower and grass catcher. Photos it looks like new, he says it looks like new. Said he used it for himself, mostly mowing. <br>

Problem is, says the hour meter is broken. Now maybe it broke and he just didn't get it fixed, or maybe he isn't being honest. I guess if he was really dishonest he would have fixed it before selling it.<br>

My question is, how can I tell? Says it probably has only 100 hours. any thoughts? thanks.<br>

I got a pair of used surveyer stakes (metal, about an inch+ sq. solid iron, one end pointed, around 3+' long). Welded two receivers to each OUTSIDE of the bucket sides. The forward one is a hollow metal square that the bar goes through. The aft one is a welded metal pocket (with a hole in the end because when you excavate without the bars the pocket fills with crud).<br>

Just in front of where the bar comes out of the square is the weak point, so I slid close-fitting square stock down to it, and tacked it to the bar. Just aft of the square I drilled a hole in the bar -- for a pin to prevent the bar from falling out.<br>

Total cost -- near zip. But many fork users need to be able to adjust the distance between them.

In general, before looking to the pump and for internal obstructions,

-right kind and amount of clean fluid?
-if quick-connects, all seated properly?
-replaceable hyd filter right kind and within hour limit?
-internal filter inspected and cleaned?
-stop-valves fully open?
-no kinks in hoses?

a GST trans has 12 forward and 8 reverse gears and all operate w/o a clutch plus ya don't hafta hold yer foot on the go button for 3 or 4 hours at a time while bushogging or finish mowing JMMHO

put 3 pt hitch lever all the way down and lock it--ctr pt will hold the weight just fine

I have a Belarus 825 that will not go in gear. I ran it all summer and fall making hay and had no problems. Now im getting it ready for planting corn and I can't get it into gear. Now I started it every week but didn't drive it but once or twice. I can't figure out why all of a sudden it work properly. Any help would be appreciated

OK, well maybe next time I can help.

I'm not being a smart AXX about it but sometimes big hose clamps and tarp straps will work wonders. I use a home made sprayer with a 25 gallon tank in the box of the Gator with a 12 volt pump and a six ft. wide spray boom to do the lawn for Dandelions fastened to the tailgate pretty much held on with tarp straps. Once in a while after hitting a sharp bump or hole I have to "adjust" the mountings of the boom a bit, but so far it hasn't fallen off.

It's a B400. I don't know what type of transmission. It days its an 8 speed. Hopefully that helps. I have a huge book/owners manual for it but I can't find anywhere that says what all the levers do.

A White Field Boss FB31 is a far as I can tell exactly the same tractor except you have a 4 speed pto and I think a little bit differnt setup for the transmission(ie H-M-L & H-L). So far the few parts I have needed are available from AGCO. I found a service and parts manual for an FB31 and everything has fit. Have had real good luck with mine.

Interesting enough I just brought mine back from the dealer. I had a seal out in axle stub and a bearing and a broken gear tooth. The bearing cage failed, allowing the balls to all work around toward one side, wearing the seal, the shaft and shifting the gear alignment. This was on the left, rebuilt the right about 5 years ago. Now both sides have been sleeved where the seal has worn the shaft. Yes the gear faces can and should be shimmed for proper tooth alignment/engagement; if not the tooth faces will not mesh properly and can result in worn or snapped teeth. We used to use lamp black and orange die on the gears to check interfaces. Each cast hub is a little different and each finished casting ends up bored just a little different too. I see you’ve been doing them yourself, check with a JD mechanic and see if he’ll show you how to use the shim sets to adjust gear engagement. I probably did mine in last season with the backhoe, might say I was a little rough on it. But it’s still a good tractor with lots of life to go……
