There's a video on YouTube showing a bobcat self-loading on a flat bed truck with NO ramps. What the guy does is raise the loader about 3/4 the way, go forward and stop quickly causing the rear to raise doing a reverse wheely. Then he backs up--- still doing a wheely--- and gets the rear tires to grab the bed of the truck. Now he tilts the bucket down and lowers the loader raising the front of the bobcat. Then he drives backward more with the bucket dragging on the ground and the front tires grab... and he's loaded. I think getting down the same way would be suicidal!
Also on YouTube there's video of a TLB self loading itself onto a railcar from the ground with no ramps just using the loader bucket and hoe. One more video shows a fullsize excavator stairsstepping 2 platforms to drive into a railcar using some of the same procedure the bobcat did.

No wheel weights for turf tires because of the big flexible sidewalls. Tire ballast is for traction and lateral (side to side) stability. Three point ballast boxes are for longitudinal stability on front loader-equipped tractors.<br>

Take the tractor back to your RimGuard dealer. For best operation, both should have been filled to the 75% mark. That means filling with the valve stem at the 12 o'clock position until they can't get any more in.<br>

Keep in mind those machines are designed to be primarily commercial units where time is money, big money!

Some of our bigger turf units will cut 9+ acres an hour, in real world, not on paper.

However lots of the smaller units find their way into homeowners yards also, I know of lots of folks around here cutting their lawns with 'commercial' units capable of 3+ acres an hour.

Sure makes short work of the 'honey-do' list.

We've got a couple of R420's, they're bullet-proof, even the young kids can't tear them up!

They aren't designed for high-speed travel though, wide open they'll just tickle 12 mph, but in a small articulated loader that's plenty.

Black smoke means it's getting way too much fuel.

Does that machine have a system to give the tractor extra fuel for starting? If so I'd say with the list of things done to it, that would be the best place to look.

Keep rinsing, the stuff's probably clinging to the inner walls above the fill line. The procedure I recommend involves a screen or cheescloth to act as a strainer when you're draining the kero. That permits you to re-use the rinse. I also recommend filling well past the level mark on the dipstick AND exercising the hydraulics while driving around. That will splash the kero up on the sump walls, and clean out the hoses/cylinders/fittings at the same time.

I traded for a L3800 with a 524FEL and a 60" rotary cutter in September and I have about 25 hours on it. I have had no problems and I am very happy with it. The backhoe would have been a nice addition but I couldn't justify the
extra cost. Enjoy your tractor and all the attachments.

Treeman - thanks for the response. I spent some more time diagnosing the problem today. The chattering noise seems to be coming from the transaxle driven clutch. I took of the belt and it is in spec for width, the V-Part of the belt seems to be OK. There is a little wear on the belt, but nothing major. The belt also seemed to have a fair amount of slack in it when revving up and down. I will take the belt it tom my local JD Dealer and get their opinion.

he's asking 3800.00. everything is stong, hydraulics on bucket and 3pt..i tried getting some info on yesterdays tractor forum in the ford section, but there seems to be a major hatred for Japanese fords, lol.

Now then---guess I did not post clearly before ---the fellow that put up those signs & the gate is a jerk from Florida---complains bout everything. Last one was complaining bout the forest service harvesting trees around here ( those went to good use )---but yet he went up on his property & bulldozed a big bunch of trees off the side of the mountain so he could have a view. Those tree are still laying on the ground---wasted. :-(
The fellow that took down the gate is a country boy from Tennesse.

Long time ago when I was a senior in High School the cold war with the former USSR had people building bomb shelters worrying about the Russians sending nukes over the north pole and all that. I remember a science teacher we had who told us that the Russians would never be a problem but in time China would be our biggest threat.

There is an inspection plate on the side of the pump where your throttle bracket is. It has 4 10mm bolts to remove it. You can look in there and see if your solenoid is operating when you turn the key on and off. More than likely the solenoid has failed on yours. If it is operating and no diesel is coming thru the injector pump, then it is the culprit.

As far as mine, I'm not experienced enough with this style pump to know if it could be a timing issue, but you may be on to something there.

Thanks for the info re HDPE. The JD dealer has promised to find out the exact polymer from John Deere. I'll be interested to see if he comes back with HDPE.

Are you sure you external linkage did not get bent and is not shifting fully? To me if not something simple in the linkage you have damage in the transmission either shifter or gear or both. NOTE I am not a mechanic but have been there with transmission noise.
