Well since our DMVW was closed for Holiday yesterday looked at the regs again very carefully and had good friend who is attorney to also. Seems I missed an important word, "combined" think was the word. If the combined weight exceed 26,000 pounds then CDL is needed if tow vehicle is rated in excess of 10,000 GVWR. So might be able to keep my needs under those.

I have a 420an I am trying to restore to running condition, and have just purchased a service manual from a company called jensales. Well, I did get a reply from JD. As expected, they said to contact my local JD dealer since I had a technical question. I'll give it a try, but I'm not too optimistic I'll get an answer.

We have a 4 by 2 gator that is oh about 7 or 8 years old. We are on basically flat land but have driven it up and down piles of dirt and such a good bit (not at high speeds) with no indication of any tipping or such. I agree on ours you would slide out sideways first. No roll bar on ours and never felt any need for one. think if a car would handle the grade your Gator would be even more stable.

did you try to adjust the EMFWD backlash I have the same problum but the allen screw will not turn on mine...

I was picking up heavy slabs of concrete when I backed up in reverse trans made a noise.I jacked up tractor to get wheels off ground.when I shift from 4wd to 2wd the front shaft sTill turns and it seems to make a clicking sound every 3 or 4 turns of the wheel.also when in 2wd the front wheels lock up every 3 turns any help would be much appreciated thanks

both sides will do it. say you put your foot on left brake first (and keep it pressed)then press other foot on other brake, the brake pressed FIRST always go to the floor when the second brake is applied, no matter which side you start with.

Ted, understand the fact of losing family and friends. This year have really thought on those and how much they meant to me not only years ago but to this day. You are right, they are not particularly complex machines - but pretty much all the parts are JD-specific and therefore expensive. The exceptions to this are engine parts if you have the gasoline version. The engine is a standard Kawasaki FD620D model. The only thing that makes this particular variant of the engine different is a taper on the drive shaft where the primary clutch is fitted. I have no experience with the diesel version, but I believe the same thing applies.I'd recommend that you get hold of the technical manual TM1518. Somewhere on this forum is a link to download a PDF version of it.
I've recently done a full restoration of a 6X4 that was badly rusted and had a siezed engine when acquired. I rebuilt the engine with new rings, bearings, oil pump, water pump, seals, etc. I also had to replace the king pin bushes and tie rod ends and do some work on the clutches. Oh, plus a few other things like repair the fuel pump, the starter motor, the wiring harness, the seats, the cargo bed ....
With the addition of some new guards and bonnet, it now looks and performs like a new machine.

Sometime in the mid 1970's is the last time I embarrased myself and whom ever invited me to play along in a game of golf. I think the Mrs. gave my clubs to Goodwill.
I never had the little generator on my bike but I did use up the extra Jokers and whatever other cards in a deck you never used along with a spring type clothes pin for a "Motor" sound. Those of you old enough to have did this will remember how it was done.

You may want to check the arch at the box make sure the contact ends are making a good contact with the fuse.

We have every part IN STOCK for the jinma tractors. The injection pump holds probably around a half cup of oil, take the mushroom shaped cap off the governor at end of injection pump, there are two 10 MM bolts on end of governor about an 1" apart, take the bottom bolt out and pour oil thur mushroom hole until it runs out of bolt hole. Call if you need any help or have questions.

I found P21F on the front left side of the trans..The only p21f I can find are 3 cyl.,mine is a 4 cyl..Is there a chance that I have a p21f?

Foil reflects the heat initially, then once the insides warm up the foil actually causes it to over-heat because the steam can't escape.

The hulk seems to be the best compromise, it also helps hold more water making for a longer slower steaming process. It also means the seasoning and / or butter gets steamed right in.

The microwave is just too fast and extreme a heat, it goes from cold to done too fast.

Ended out being a bad head gasket. Sent the head out to a machine shop to be checked. He said it looked good. Must have been a faulty head gasket from the factory. I have about 4 hours on it after getting it back together and it's running like a top! :)

"... depressed the negative ground light...." Don't know what that means, but I'd troubleshoot all the connections, especially the ground and including the key-switch before I accused the solenoid.

Incidentally, some tractors get voltage-regulator damage from shorting the starter. Spend $10 on a push-button aux. starter, clip one wire from the button-box to the battery + and the other to the starter terminal (which is not necessarily one of the two large terminals on the starter).
