OK New development, I have a family series SKA617U1G2RB motor. The number in my first post was the code on the motor. I removed the flywheel to inspect the stator and the magnets on the inside of the flywheel have broken off, this would explain my charging issue. I guess I will need a new stator and flywheel now. Also cleaned and checked the magnetic pickups for the ignition and they appeared clean. Could the ignition box be failing and that is what is causing the intermitent spark and backfiring? Where do I get parts for this. Do not want to go to the john deere dealer if I can help it. Thanks

I have a long tiller and would like to repaint it. Any idea where I can buy Long Blue Paint. I see White Tractor shows a blue color - I know Long tractors were marketed under White's name at one time, is that the same color?

I have just bought one also. I missed one from Victoria I live in Newcastle and it would have been quite a haul up from Vic. A couple of weeks later one came up for sale on the Central coast (45 minutes away). I checked it out and bought it. It was from the second owner and is complete and fully operational. Hello. I am new to the site and a new owner of a belarus 250AS 1988. I have been using it for about 6 weeks building a rock wall with the loader. No problems. I recently cleaned the air filter changed the oil and cleaned the air intake, tractor started right up no problems ran fine. I , stopped the engine, tried to restart and it would not turn over. Dead. Removed and charged the batteries. Nothing. Jumped the solenoid started right up, but lights did not go on, horn did not blow. Shut the tractor off, depressed the negative ground light and horns worked. I also noticed when the tractor was running and the negative ground was depressed it was not showing any change in amperage. I suspect its the solenoid, but this light thing has me a little confused. Any help would be appreciated.<br>

I had extremely good results using Bosch power tools when we ran the furniture plant. I've still got all of them. They seemsed to run on and on after others like Sears, Black and Decker and the others that went consumer line would give up the ship.
Two of my Bosch sanders are the little triangle sanders that look a good deal like your oscillating tool. I've wondered of the sanding pad can be removed and replaced with the cutting tools like is on yours?

That sounds interesting, have you ever tried using HD foil instead? Maybe the husk is the magic. When I microwave corn I take a sharp knife and cut off the the top and bottom of the ear and then remove half of the husks, cook on high for 2 minutes then remove the remaining husks under cold water.

But your technique sounds much more appetizing :)

Just wondering here, think all men I know like tools or guns or computers what ever they use for gifts. But have always been told buy her a blender and you are in trouble. Do you find that true? Or is that only true say with tools for the house and they (may be 100% correct) think those are gifts for the FAMILY. Know my wife liked the Gator as Christmas gift a few years back. She even picked it out.

Based on my experience, you can use calcium (which I read is heavier than the alternatives) if you install tubes on which the valves are corrosion-proof. (After 25 years one of my valves had a slow leak that ate through the metal valve cap. A plastic one solved that.)

I saw a thread someplace about how to fill them yourself. Fill to around the top of the rim.

I haven't tested specific key switch position - I was told it happened when turned "off" position and that is what I did when it blew, I have replaced it now and it is starting everytime no problems, Im not able to test if i can blow it again by the same method to confirm this soloution is the sole and accurate soloution. So unless it goes again with a different cause, fingers crossed it is fixed. im using the tractor a lot over the next two days so will soon know. Thanks
