First off, welcome to TractorPoint!

Secondly, it's pretty hard to tell from "front wheel prop" what part you are describing, but the part about the drive shaft heading to the rear and the oil pan being beside and above leads me to believe it's the front differential.

If so the "thick yellowish fluid" is then gear oil.

I also have a 1992 Kubota B2150HST, my first and only tractor. I bought it pre-owned in 1998. I paid ten grand for it. It has never been left outside by either the previous owner or myself and has always been well maintained. I could not be happier with a tractor for the small farm and it has never needed any real repairs. But I do have a question about it that is not included in my limited manual (the full manual is online for $200, if anyone has one cheaper, let me know!). Coming off the front wheel prop is a housing component about the size of a quart mayonaise jar, from that is the drive-shaft heading to the rear. (The oil pan is beside and above this housing.) The housing has a drain plug and (what I presume to be) a fill plug (red) near the top. I'm not sure what this housing is or what fluid goes in it. I took off the bottom plug (inadvertently thinking I was checking something else)and a thick yellowish fluid started coming out. Anyone who can tell me what this housing is for, and what fluid goes in it (including the approximate capacity), it would be appreciated. Woodswoman

Don't know that model but sounds like it's operated electronioally, suggesting you need a service manual or a Deere dealer. You might try removing drivetrain lockup as a cause such as by jacking the fronts clear of the ground.

4x2 is the model. It's probably a '96 or '97. Top speed is 15.5 mph. Anyone's guess what it's worth.

E-Z outs were always a frustrating situation especially when an E-Z out snapped off level with the casting, a Malox Moment at best.
A blacksmith friend suggested using left hand drill bits to take out a broken off bolt. Greatest thing since canned beer, haven't used an E-Z out since. Start with a small bit to center the hole then work up to bigger bits just short of getting into the threads, usually by that time the shell of the bolt will spin right out with the bit. Frank.

So your wheel mounts are welding on and not bolted on?
Is it possible your mower is missing the floating arms some use? If you are having such an issue do check your pto shaft length is correct.

Been here before!!! They are measured on top of the lugs not the casing so on soft or tilled soils this can be a driveline killer!!! This can happen between turfs and industrial tires or the ag tires. My awakening was between R-1 and R-3's which is where I had the trouble and it did mean drive shaft u-joints within thirty minutes of operating time turning grease to mighty hot oil!!!!

I pull started my 420AN as I had a broken starter selinoid and it was out in the pasture. After it started I stopped it, put the shuttle shift in neutral, got off to disconnect the chain from the other tractor, got back on the 420 put the shuttle into forward and the tractor would not move. I checked the shuttle shift to see if it had slipped out of socket but it is ok. The transmission is not stuck between gears. I have to clutch the engine to shift the trans,or the suttle shift, but it will not move when the clutch is engaged.The clutch was replaced about 150 hrs run time ago. I locked the differential as this unit has ondemand four wheel drive and still nothing. any ideas out there that would eleminate a seperation?

I have a 420AN, but not an electrical diagram. The button you are talking about is the ground button for the entire electrical. The ground from the battery hooks directly to it. In the engaged position (pushed in) the batteries (two 6 volts in series) are setup for a complete circuit for what ever you are wanting to do. If a fuse blows as soon as you push the button in, there is a short circuit somewhere in the circuit. If it is this 15A fuse, trace the wire from the side of the fuse that is not connected to the battery, and you should find your problem, ie a bare shorted wire, or defective item that is operated by that branch of the circuit. rhino, I'm sorry and I got you off on the wrong track last night, I had you partially in neutral when you should have been in gear, so I'm going to try again. First of all the F3 fuse needs to be good. Ign. in run, shifter in gear, parking brake off, press gas pedal. Power goes via yellow wire thru throttle switch and out tan wire to neutral interlock relay. Since trans is not in neutral ( where I screwed up before ) and the parking brake off, power goes thru relay and out green wire to start solenoid. So the green wire is the power to pull the solenoid. So you press the gas tan wire out of the throttle switch is hot. Tan wire into the neutral lock relay is hot and the green wire out of that relay is hot to the start solenoid. It looks like if your park brake switch is bad or out of adjustment it will mess things up. Also that green wire goes to two other relays that could be pulling it down. Neutral run latch relay and ignition relay.

yes the dealer came out and lubricated the rod that operates the safety switch. This rod is operated by the pedal so if it is stiff it could cause the pedal to be slow I suppose.
Seems to be ok now. Maybe it was just a coincidence that the symptoms first occurred just after a service.
