Ummmm, if they're reducing production to reduce inventory, that means they have too much inventory, that would mean the prices need to come [u]down[/u] to get inventory out the door.

Hey Jim, I too have a DF 354. I need to do the clutch also and the 4x4 is inoperative. I am a decent mechanic but have never done a clutch on a tractor. You said it was easy. If you're referring to the track analogy, Kenny is a former crane salesman and thought he could relate to it better. Of course a track is not comparable to the rolling radius as tire but the concept is the same.

Your comment about buying new as a package may be a better choice reminds me of a couple times me trying to buy a good low mile two year old pickup, it just never worked out. For the little difference in cost you got a new warranty, zero miles, etc.. To top it all off right now when I don't need a new pickup or new tractor almost everybody on the planet is offering zero down, zero intrest, not something to overlook. Frank.

You may have lost the side drain plug. On some of the pumps, it's used as in lieu of a dipstick. You idea is to remove the plug and see if any oil comes out. If not, you need to add more oil to the top - until it drips out the side. Then you put the side plug back in.

I'm guessing it's that side plug that's gone missing on you.

I have a Farm Pro wood chipper that I bought from TSC. Looks like a Jimna or any of the other imports (think they all come from the same manufacturer). Recently I noticed the flywheel shaft is out of alignment with the drive shaft. Looks like the flywheel shaft has moved causing the flywheel to rub on the housing (direction of movement is along the flywheel axis). Does anyone know how to adjust this flywheel shaft? Thanks in advance.<br>

I've had a Jinma 304 for a bit over a year now and haven't had any problems that weren't of my own making. I opted for the 300 series because I need it to do some hefty hillside work and I wanted all the weight I could get for traction - the 304 is about a thousand pounds heavier than the 200 series, possibly more, and the drive train components are correspondingly heavier and sturdier. I have a FEL and I wanted the heavier front end for that.

The Jinma tractor is a real workhorse and the Jinma ZL30 loader is adequate - once I replaced the OEM control valve with an aftermarket one from RanchHand SUpply. That made all the difference in the world.

I run a 5' bush hog cutting cane grass and guinea grass that is dense and up to 8 feet tall. I wish I'd gotten a 6' instead of the 5', but there it is. I also have a 5' box blade that the tractor pulls with no effort at all - again, I probably should have gotten the 6'.

I'd have to say that I'm delighted with my Jinma. I'm sure I'd have been happy with a Kama or a Foton, too. The Chinese tractors have come a long way over the past decade and are pretty tough, reliable machines at a great value.

All the foregoing is based on proper set-up and maintenance. No tractor will tolerate crappy set-up or negligent maintenance for long. These are working machines that often get stressed to near their limits so they need attention. GIve them the attention they deserve and they do the job - they've been in hard use in China for thirty or forty years so they aren't junk.

My only real suggestion here is don't buy without being able to test it. For some reason many places think price is most important item on seat and don't realize how much time (hopefully) you will spend in it.

Northern Tool has a good selection but if you do order one watch for all the specs. Height of seat and location in relationship to the mounting holes are two that are easy to miss. Also pay attention to the distance from the front edge of the bottom to the seat back. I found many with such a shallow distance it was a pain to stay in the seat.

Sounds like it may be electrical. Did you change the plug? The ignitor is in the coil on those, could be that too.

Well my ignition switch was bad. Also found a disconnected wire under the left rear wheel. Fixed both and all is well!

While you are running or trying to accelerate, pull the choke out some and see if you can get it to run better or worse. If you can control the running with the choke there is a good chance it is fuel, if not, it could be electrical. Is there a small silver ignitor on top of the motor? It has a black wire going into it.
