All you need is an old light duty trailer axle, the little 600 or 1,000 pounders with 4.80 x 8 tires they use under those Big Box Store cheapie box trailers, snowmobile or jetski trailers work very well.<br>

If you want a picture of how they're done just let me know. They really are nothing but $10 worth of 3/8" plate with a couple of holes in them and a wheel on a swivel.<br>

I've done up a bunch of them over the years, every single time the owner was astounded at how much nicer the mower was to use afterwards.<br>

I did change the fuel filter and air filters. I think I did a good cleaning job on carb. I will pull it off and clean again. I did not remove air mixture screw.I am sure it has to be fuel system. It sounds like you believe the same. Thanks for the wisdom and encouragement!

Gatoraider. So I took the cover off of the lower brake pedal assembly and found the equalizer and thumb screws. I pushed the pedal and the cables are not being pulled equally. So I went to the calipers and tightened the pad adjustment screws all the way till the pads were touching the disc. Then I went back up front and adjusted the thumb screws to be the same. Then went back to the calipers and loosened the adjustment screws back off the disc. Then when I checked at the pedal the cables were still not pulling equally. Do you think uneven pad where could cause this? Thanks.

"Tractor Hunting" is a sport of it's own, kinda like antique hunting only our goal is something big and greasy.
I bought a used 1953 Super M Farmall in about 62-63 then later traded it for something bigger. Since it was the first tractor I bought on my own after having dad let me use his till I could afford one on my own. A few years ago I had a dream of finding the "Super" back. I did find it on a farm about twenty miles north of me but the guy said it's his favorite too and wouldn't sell it. I know the man is still living and still lives where he did, so I'll bug him about it again, maybe he's changed his mind.
Even if it comes to an auction I'm sure I'll pay more for it the second time than the first, but I'll have to outlive him first.

If you have a 2001 HPX 6x4 with 4wd you already have money because you have the only one they ever made. Seriously, something on your input shaft is messed up. Either the shift fork, the shift collar, the spring and ball system or the forward gear kit. The shift collar is not getting all the way into gear or it's not being held all the way in gear. Maybe there's not as much strain when there is 4 wheels pushing. I'm sure eventually it will do it in 4wd too.

bartrr, Drive belt always turns and both clutches always turn. The belt guard/brace is important because it holds the motor in place under acceleration. Can you run without one? It probably has been for awhile. The bolts are probably broken off or stripped in the holes in the head where it goes. It should be on there. Deere doesn't have kits for carbs, you have to buy everything seperately.

I have just had a dealer complete a 50 hour service on my b2320. He changed the transmission oil to UDT and now the hst pedal is very sluggish. The tractor also "runs on" a bit when my foot is lifted off the pedal. As the pedal is slow to return, the rod that operates the safety switch does not return properly and the starter wont turn when next I try to start. I have to Physically pull the rod back under the tractor to get it to start. I think these symptoms are because the super UDT oil which the manual says it came with was not replaced. I can't get the super udt here in australia as kubota don't bring it in. Interestingly the manual has a paste over lube spec which says either oil can be used however when I peeled the paste over off the original manual says only super udt. I have informed the dealer who is supposed to be coming to look at it but I am not holding my breath. I may have to adjust the travel on the safety switch so that it operates at a lesser distance from the operating rod<br>
Any ideas or comments?<br>

NCWTractor agrees with Murf. But, we would like to add that the IH254 was made by Mitsubishi.<br>
On those models there is an electronic solenoid that shuts off the fuel pump that is controled in link with your ignition switch and a control unit underneath the dash on the right hand side(check the side dash panel for 2 phillips head screws). You will find a control unit behind it. It will look like a voltage regulator (flat black box).<br>

Pull out your solenoid and check it. It should have 2 wires. Hook a hot lead to one and a ground lead to the other. If it clicks every time you touch it with a ground lead it is still good. Your problem could be a bad connection somewhere or a problem with your control unit.<br>

Well, ran it uo a hill and when it quit turned it off and removed the plugs. Both were the same, dry and slightly white. Removed Carburtor, reinspected all jets, removed floats, needle valve and blew out. Jets are all clean. All seems ok. Carburator overall looks good. Replaced all gaskets. Machine shows a little improvement but today is a lot warmer and that could be part of it. Noticed when in neutral and give it gas it bogs at first then grabs and picks up rpm like my old car when the timing needed to be advanced. I guess the next step is to buy a Ig moduel unless anyone can think of anything else to try first.

Excellent points as to aspect and load ratios. I had noticed that the l3400 had a turf that appeared to be the same dimension but I'm told the rims are different. So I'm pretty well stuck with wheels from the 2710,2910,3030, and 3200; I may have found a used set which is way better than new at full price (ouch).

I'd rather be sure of the correct size than have to remember not to use 4 wheel drive occasionally. thanks

Could you email a picture of your power steering unit that is leaking? I think I have a leak, but on the left side that I cannot get stopped.

The pickup screen should be in the sump. Find the suction line that feeds the pump. Follow it back to the sump. At the end of that line - inside the sump - should be the suction screen. <br>

Shibaura is a grey market tractor, this is a grey market forum, more than one grey market parts seller hangs around here. With luck, one of them with Shibaura parts will see this thread and join in.<br>

QDs can clog up too, stalling the pump. But by your description, only the suction screen could do that on your tractor. Otherwise, the pump drive has quite possibly stripped. Thing is, some external force usually is responsible for jamming those pump drives. If your suction screen is not clogged, you still need to make sure the hydaulic flow around the entire loop is not impeded. Otherwise you might do the same thing to a replacement pump<br>

ART thanks for the comment,iam looking at a 5105m not a 5101m i posted that wrong.i was wondering if anyone else had problems with the 5603's.yes i have drove the 5105m and it is alot more tractor and a different class of tractor than the 5603.I dont think i will be disapointed with the5105m.the dealership is helping me out alot withthis trade.I have compared prices at other dealers and my dealer is cutting his price a great amount.tanks,JDMAN1
