Hmmmm.... seems logical to me that if it was running recently, and you have a good spark happening, then it's gotta be something to do with fuel. If you have a can of Engine Start or similar ether-in-a-can product, you could try a (small) squirt into the carburettor. If the engine fires, then it's pretty definitely a fuel-related problem.

I think our Deere mowers work the same as yours to hold the control switch till you let off the hydro pedal. I don't use the cruse often enough to remember, too many short passes that by the time I set the cruse it's timwe to turn around. Our SUV and pickup, both 07 Chevy are different than yous, probably every car company has a different idea how to have the cruse kick in. Reason I remeber how they work is because I use them most of the time. I often find myself going above the speed limit so I just let off the gas till it coasts down to limit speed then hit the button on the end of the turn signal stick and it locks in. I think two factors cause me to speed, one being the newer cars are more quiet and second I have "Farmer Hearing", or maybe the car really isn't any more quiet, I just can't hear it anymore, not sure. You're very welcome. When I got my TC40D, I paid 17,500 for it. They're going for 19-23 grand used, and that's just for an "04 like I have. I feel a tremendous amount of pride that I was able to wait, because trust me, I got a great machine.

The wait was tough though. I went with Uship.com and had it shipped here from Tennesee (I live in Pennsylvania) It cost me 500 bucks. For that price I had to wait nearly a month. In that time, we got hit with HORRIFIC snow and I was kicking myself. I learned though, I'm glad I made that choice because I saved several hundred dollars by waiting.

When you pick a machine (and as I said, I don't know very much about tractors, I'm just getting my tractor skills back after YEARS of not using one) you should be very selective and informed. Don't jump on the first deal you see, because you might see a better one down the road and kick yourself. Ten thousand dollars is a LOT of money. I'm sure it came hard to you, like my money did to me.

I'm sure you'll love your NH when you get it though. I'm being unbiased when I tell you that I truly love my machine. I could have gotten a green one, or an orange one but the blue one was just right for me. Not dissing the other ones, I love ALL tractors if they're quality. I just like the way NH is set up, it works for "me". I was knocking stumps out of the ground two days ago and couldn't believe how easily they just TORE out of the ground, roots and all. I was looking for stumps in the neighbors yards LOL and wanted to ask if they wanted my FREE services just so I could do it some more. My yard is all torn up now haha. Hey I'm 39 and feel like a little kid on this thing. I think it's adding years to my life. Please take your time and get something that will make you as happy as mine does me... Who ever said that things don't make you happy should be smacked upside the head. I'm pretty happy on the NH. It's the first thing in my life that actually listened to me when I told it what to do LOL, I'm a married man if you know what I mean ;-)

I'm hoping the shaft is not damaged and I will disconnect the linkage and try to turn it by hand. Technically it's warrantied by the dealer for 30 days but I hate to drag it 180 miles each way if it's a simple fix. Supposedly it was working when I picked it up and this machine has never seen either pto used .

I meant if someone had one laying around from a dump trailer, small dump truck or even large boat trim tab power pack (I got one off eBay for $75)--they're not that big--18"-20" long x 6-9" sq. Surpluswise, new, less than $200. And I wasn't thinking of having it self contained ON the grapple but elsewhere remotely perhaps near the rear axle or by seat--or even on a bracket on the front. Even some of the newer snow plow setups have nice small pump and reservoirs albeit some do stay with the plow when parked/stored. Cables aren't that expensive, and some power packs use solenoids for power and down, so only a DPDT switch would be needed.

The Dash panel on my 5254 has stopped working. No big deal however the pto will not turn on with the dash not working.<br>

Better yet does anyone know how I could jumper or rewire the PTO switch to work without the dash?<br>

I have removed the seat, rops and rear fenders to get to the pto electrical connection and sent 12 volt to them. The PTO solenoid cycles. <br>

I confirmed my tractors serial numbers fit the service bulleten and ordered the part. Spent aprox $120 in parts and fluids and fixed the leak over the weekend. I've run the tractor and appears to be fine. Hope it holds!

Saved $1,800 to $2,700 quoted by the 3 nearest Kubota shops.

If you put power to the starter solenoid it pulls a contact package that completes the circuit between the 12v power source and the starter windings. The other end of the solenoid pulls a fork that engages the starter drive. If you are pulling the solenoid and the starter is just spinning, you aren't engaging the starter drive with the flywheel on the other end. Sounds mechanical to me. Fork, starter drive or something. The two green wires are the feed from the stator to the regulator.

If I only needed some type of light weight root rake this thing "MIGHT" be ok. I would not buy it!

Putting tines on my bucket much cheaper. The other issue I see is lack of a grapple.

They *almost* got me. I figured it was TractorPoint and almost clicked when I realized that it was not. Now it may be a scam site, or a phishing site, or just some schmoe who is using spam to promote his site, but you've got to read those subject lines and sender address carefully to prevent getting sucked in.<br>

For years if you wanted a really superb cut you only really had 2 choices, reel of flail.

Both are spendy when it comes to maintenance, but the reel is a bunch more to sharpen, which is required on a regular basis, even if you don't hit anything.

The big problem with a flail mower from our point of view is it's slow compared to other cutters.

It is however much safer for by-standers or vehicles if you hit something. The much lighter flail knives or hammers don't have the mass behind them to turn a piece of debris into a projectile.

We still have a bunch of them because certain government type contracts specify the work must be done using a flail-type mower.

i,d like to thank you all for your help
i did end up finding the problem, the plate on the transaxle clutch had a crack in it ,when you rev,d the gator up it would begin to wobble thus when i deaccelerated the plate would still be wobbling .as the clutch closed the belt would fly off .
lucky we have 2 gators , i started pulling parts off one and putting on the other till i found the problem .i,ve ordered a new transaxle clutch which is 330 dollars

I found a 2008 John Deere 2305 with a 62 MMM and a hood guard. The tractor has 2 hours on it. The tractor is still considered new - never sold. The dealer wants $10,600 for it. Do you think it is a good deal? Give me your honest opinion.

I was not "worried" about capacity but merely alerting people what I found out from the dealer. The old tried and true rule of thumb of 2.2 X Loader model number for bucket lift capacity will not apply to the new models. Kubota has gone the way of John Deere in how they arrive at model numbers. I do however maintain my position on liking the wider loader arms and that the wider pin placement will give a better breakout force given the cylinders and pressure are the same. I am open to info on the contrary if there is any to be had.

Got another look at it in better light and the manufactured date is '02 not '07. Looks like we may be out of luck. If anyone owns one of these machines or has an idea on a source for parts please chime in.
