I don't remember all of the details about Farmtrac and have heard nothing in the last few months...but you may find a problem with any dealer support or parts. (Think they went bankrupt at least in part to the owners taking pulling all money out of the company and heading to India for safety from lawsuit. They were bought I think by Montano and hard rumor to have great support but the last was told had not happen.)

Before you buy suggest you make sure those issues are solved.

I have a Shibaura SB 1548 and I managed to break the gear that transfers power to the lifting arms of the 3 point hitch. The gear is a cylinder, 1 and 1/4 inches diameter and 12 inches long. The lifting arms slip over the ends of the cylinder/gear. One end snapped off when I backed up with the box scraper down.<br>
My question is: where can I get a replacement? <br>

I picked up a 6x4 gator that was a theft recovery. The engine and tranny are gone as well as a few other parts. Any idea where to find used parts? May try to convert to a 4x2 if I can find those parts?<br>

IT sounds like the uploader valve is stuck open. It may have some dirt or metal fillings in the seat. remove and clean the valve.

it is a shibaura tractor model # V52F found out this tractor has a Engine> S4F 004222 on block diesil Manufact>Mitsubishi Heavy motor but still can't get a headgasket earthwrks said shibura makes motors why is it a mitsubishi motor in this tractor and can't seem to get any one that knows this model??? thanks salvo<br>

It has nothing to do with the hydraulic fluid.
What is happening is...There is a lip on your power steering motor which is located in the dash, this lip retains a puddle of water and it freezes.
To prevent this from happening you can either take it to the dealer and he should be able to take care of it or you can remove the steering colum panel loosen up the steering motor tip it out clean it off, blow that exis water off and build the area up with regular grease.

Thanks Hardwood, as I mentioned to Murf, my goal to fix this problem was this afternoon and it is done now. The base has a good grip and it should be o.k. from now on.

Salvo, it's the other way around--Ford puts their name on it.

Go to the skidsteerforum.com and post a question there.

In my experience it's hard to find skid steer engines that are rebuildable, mainly because they're victims of fire ansd get scrapped.

Messicks.com can help you too but you'll pay handsomely.

Might consider repowering with a sdifferent brand like a Yanmar or Kubota--check out surpluscenter.com

Just finished digging out the back drive way. Thing runs like a champ now with the new fuel filter. Lock in the diff and let her dig. Love the MFWD on this. Makes a big difference. Now to get the tiller, scraper box, pulverizer, stereo, and a big honkin shed for her. About 60X40 should do. LOL

Auerbach, to begin with not saying any of this is safe. I looked at Oregon's site and they show a lot of 14 inch blades with center hole. Guess you might could buy a blade long enough you could cut the length you need and drill it.

It has been years back I worked with drill jigs. We use a steel called then "Tool Steel". It was easy to drill, grind or weld until harden. Then it made great drill bushings and would wear and wear and wear. Of course that means it was very hard so would be dangerous about breaking. You probably could find specs on it to harden it some for wear but not easy broken.

Also they do make a abrasive grade steel used in some things like buckets and other wear edges. It can be welded and I think drilled.

I understand Murph's concern and not taking anything away from it.

Have you tried the farm dealerships especially the hay guys to see if they happen to have blades that fit as Murph has suggested? Not sure of their size and could not find it but "Power Trac" uses blades along that design on one or some of their mowers.

Remove the nut from the lower ball joint and separate. With the A-arm off, the strut can be moved out to remove the half shaft. Remove the shaft from the front diff, then from the strut.
