Back to the original question. MagicJack isn't magic at all, it's a simple VoIP device. What's deceiving is the price. The advertised $19.95/year subscription includes advertising that you have to listen to before each and every phone call and/or see them on your computer screen. It's sorta like Google email; free - if you can put up with targeted advertising cluttering up your incoming messages. Pay - and the advertising goes away.

Here's a snippet from the MJ subscriber agreement: "[i]You also understand and agree that use of the magicJack device and Software will include advertisements and that these advertisements are necessary for the magicJack device to work ... Our computers may analyze the phone numbers you call in order to improve the relevance of the ads[/i]"

At one time there was talk of Magicjack "premium service" which eliminated the advertising. I think it might have been $24/month, but from what I can tell - that never happened anyway. If you fall for their crap - be prepared to be deluged with targeted advertising.

I would drive the several hundred miles just to get prices, then make an offer to the nearest dealer. You almost certainly will need dealer support, and that's when it could be worth a lot to have him nearby.

I don't feel you have enough ability to tackle an engine rebuild and if the block or head is cracked then it is not a simple rebuild and more parts would need to be changed out.
There are other things that have been suggested that would have been the first to look at before removing the thermostat housing.

Hi, I have a 2001 4600 with the exact same problem. Does it use the same solenoid and yellow thermosensor? Are they located in the same place. I can't wait to hopefully put an end to the mysterious will turn over, but won't start sometimes trick.

Not too intelligent to remove a fuel filter from ANY diesel motor. Don't know if your injectors are toast, but you can bet they are dirty. They can be taken apart and cleaned. Lots of small parts inside so do one at a time and put it back together the same way. The very tip of the nozzle is very critical. Use a brass bristle brush, not steel. The nozzle assemblies ( just the tips ) are available from Deere. There are also spring loaded valves screwed into the top of the injector pump that should be cleaned. When you get a filter make sure it is the one for a diesel Gator, don't just use a regular fuel filter. Diesel filters have water seperation and drain features.

It was the clutch that was causing the shaking. the one roller assembly came loose. The nylon stop nuts weakened and came off allowing it to come apart. Thanks

Will the light go off when you disconnect the wire from the pressure switch? If not, then you have a short somewhere in the wire or the instrument panel. If it does go out, then you might actually have low oil pressure. You should get it checked before any engine damage occurs.

I have a 6x4 the steering got locked in the hard right position. Ipulled the rack off loosnd the cap behind the pinion which puts pressure on rack and pushes in against pinion. I was able to free up steering and tightend up cap. But on the bench in feels pretty rough is this normal or should it be smooth The rack looks ok but i cant get to the pinion . Is there a way to get to pinion to inspect or rebuild or a cheaper replacement than what JD wants.

Secondaries are easy. If you have a 12 year old Gator you may have a left hand thread bolt holding it on. If it takes a 13mm wrench it is left handed ( top to the right to loosen ) if it takes a 14mm or larger wrench it is a regular thread. It's just a matter of unscrewing the bolt and pulling the old clutch off.

I'm curious, did you ever find the cause of your hydraulic problem? I'm interested in learning about what you found out since I also own a 6284. From other posts it appears that this model is susceptible to hydro issues.

An early issue I thought I might have with mine went away after my 25 hr hydraulic filter change. I did install the factory recommended upgrade reverse flow filter. I hope you found an easy fix for your tractor.

Murf's measure is a good overall average I've seen it before but there are a lot of variables to it.

What is being done the way it is operated as well as the weight of the unit.
