The points you bring up are about ride characteristics. Sounds to me like the front end was sprung like a fork on a motorcycle, or probably more like a front wheel of an craft. But it had nothing to do with stability, right? Admit it Mudwood LOL or prepare by putting on yer helmet!

Since you brought it up, a wide axle rides much better the wider it is. Reason being the fulcrum is halfway along the axle. That means, roughly, if the axle drops or raises you feel only one-half the depth/height of the hole or bump. You see this type of suspension on roadgraders

Standard hydraulic bleeding of lines, same as fuel injectors or brakes.

Find the highest point in the circuit where there's a fitting and with pressure applied to one side bleed the return line, repeat until nothing but fluid comes out, no further air bubbles.

As a note though, even if there is air in the system, it will self-bleed during repeated cycling. With the engine at a fast idle steer it from fully turned one way, to fully turned the other way repeatedly. Air is less viscous than hydraulic fluid and will be displaced quite quickly by pressurized fluid. In some cases you need to take the weight off the front wheels in order to reduce the hydraulic back-pressure, but that's not the norm.

CAUTION: Live hydraulic lines can release enough pressure to seriously injure a person. Do the bleeding with extreme caution and be sure to wrap a thick rag or something around the fitting and wrench to contain the spray safely.

Welcome to the board, we'll try our best to help out.
I have to agree in your desire for mechanical over electronic even tho I have a ten year old Deere 4310 loaded with electronic gizmos, but so far so good.
I think size wise you are about right with mid thirtys horse power and the attachments you mwention. by far the nmost used attachment you will have is the FEL and having one with a quick tach bucket is a real plus to use pallet forks, different size buckets, etc.
Mid mount mowers for your size tractor are not only expensive but a pain to mount and dismount, with a bit of shopping around you will find lots of rider mowers with lots of life left for less than a mid mowwer.
I have no experience with any of the brands you mention, but as has been said many times here, a good reliable local dealer in any of the brands you mentiion makes you tractor ownership a lot more pleasant. Frank.

Thanks for posting your solution. I've never read a study on the effects of ethanol on small engines but it's probably not good. If they are selling E-10 for gasoline in your area that may be part of the problem.

If it's removed, a rad shop could try a plastic repair, and if it then fails the pressure-test, fabricate a replacement part.

I'd try lowering the charge pressure down to the lower side of what they recommend. Higher charge pump pressures can lead to increased temperatures, and as I mentioned, these things have a tendency to run from the start. Any reduction in the heat load can only help.

As for the leak, it's probably overflow from the heat. Try getting it real clean (before you start it while it's still cold) with a degreaser, like engine or brake cleaner, then get it heated up and park it, but when you do toss a little flour over the area first. The flour will show you what's wet and not really quickly.

I think everytime I have signed on to TP it is there big as can be in the center of the page. Has a tractor in a field and it will come up win a tractor.

It could be the way I sign on compare to others. I sign onto the home page normally. Seriously for those who have a real project and can tell it seems like a good idea as it is based upon need or project and not just a drawing.

The brake lock needs to be on before the PTO will operate if no body is on the seat also.

Thanks for the clarification. I have found that no one tractor or implement will be versatile enough for all applications. The best advice I can offer, is determine which applications you will be using your tractor or implement for a majority of time, say 75% and buy that tractor or implement that fits most uses.

For instance, if you need a brush hog for a while to get the rough area beat down and leveled and then plant grass and will be mowing it from then on, buy the tractor that will fit best for mowing, which is probably a B model. It may take you a bit longer to do the brush hogging up front with a B, but you will apprecite having the smaller framed tractor over the long haul. If you will most often be doing heavy duty brush hogging, get the L. But remember, your wife is likely to be intimidated with an L.

And hang around this board, check new and old postings, asking lots of questions and folks on this board will give you lots of great advice....and for free.

I had an old Inter 574 and scoured all makes for a replacement over last 6 months of 2008 including Yanmar, Kubota, Branson, YTO, Lamgorghini, JD, etc, etc.
My new Daedong EX45HST fitted with FEL arrived in Feb 2009 and now has 110 hours up. It has removed 400 cubic yards of material from my dam, pushed over dead trees, slashed ti-tree across the acreage, sprayed grapevines, and is great at handling 10'x 4' x 4' haybales.
At 50 hour service three of the bolts on the FEL were loose, otherwise fine. The FEL control is so easy to use and I have quick coupling bucket and forks which can be changed over in 30 secs. A delight to operate.My better half would not operate the Inter but loves the Daedong!
I occasionally bump the turn indicators when boarding and likewise have bumped the key in the ignition with my right knee when turning to look over my left shoulder and killed the engine. Just ergonomics (tall fella). The HST makes it all so easy and I would recommend it to anyone.

Do not know the model of it but there is compact John Deere for sale by owner with FEL and I think post hole auger on it about 5 miles from Conway on Hwy 905. Is on the left about 100 yards before Kingston Baptist Church.

Sorry, I gave you some bad information.

The MFWD sensor for eHydro is located in the area on the left side of the seat but it's hard to say if it's above the floorboord or underneath.

The flywheel speed sensor is located somewhere under the fuel gauge sensor.

Something else you might consider is timothy. It can be fall seeded with a cover crop such as rye. It needs to be sown seperate from the cover crop after the has been sown to prevent it from being seeded too deep.
Most any Farm feed and seed elevator has open bags to sell small quanitys from, it is not a very expensive seed compared to lawn grass, alfalfa, clover, etc. I usually seed some with oats or rye in waterways, it seems to tolerate wet soils better than a legume.

You're right about a good dealer being key to having a good experience. Since this will be my first tractor, that will be particularily true. When I've stopped in at the Kioti dealership they've been very helpful. However, you can't contact them by email. I've mentioned it to them on three different occasions that their email is down, but it's still not working. I makes me wonder how long they're going to be in business. It's pushing me toward the green machine - even if it does cost more for the same equipment.

An old auctineer (RIP) that used to have about every farm auction around here 30 yrs. ago always said when he was selling an old H Farmall or B John Deere.
"They will do just as much work as the big new ones, just takes a bit longer".
You can shift down to make the tractor handle about any size mower as long as the three point it will lift it safely.

Jeff, I can only guess it is a combination of things. First any increase in tread depth is only going to help. Secondly, the rolling friction of soft tires makes heat, even when running on snow and ice there's enough to keep the tires wet from melt water, wet rubber doesn't give much grip, so again, any help is welcome. Finally, unlike chains the rope is pliable and so probably gives a much wider surface contact.

I don't think the cold affects the rope as much as you would expect, the first set lasted 3 seasons of pretty steady use, and even then they wore out, they didn't become brittle and fall apart.

I have family who live at the bottom of the Sierra Nevada mountains, everybody uses wire rope tire 'chains to go up into the mountains. They don't flap around like heavy chain does.

Matter of fact that was one of the other reasons the fella said he wanted rope tire 'chains', they could run flat out with them on, chains restricted how fast you could go.
