I've got a Woods loader on my L4630. It's got the skid steer quick attach to switch between bucket, bale spear and pallet fork. Works great and cost me less than the Kubota loader!

I don't know if it was run low on oil. It is the neighbors who farms. It runs good and doesn't make any noise. If you putt around on it for long time it runs fine, when you hit the road and go about 1/4-1/2 mile and hold the throttle open is when it loses power. After that you will have to let it sit for about 10mins and you will have power back again. Each time this happens it will lose power quicker and quicker. I have adjusted the carb using the air/fuel screw but makes no noticeable difference. I will try for the valve adjustment when I get ahold of it again. Thanks for your help. Theront

Ken, based on experience, you would get [u]much[/u] farther making a note of the major advertisers in that newspaper and writing to [u]them[/u] briefly explaining the situation, and enclosing a copy of both your original letter, and the one they published.

Then go on to say that because of this intolerable situation you will no longer read that newspaper and that you wished to inform them that their advertising dollars spent on that newspaper were being wasted as far as your consumer spending was concerned. Be sure to CC the newspaper editor & publisher also with each letter.

I did this when a local up here did something similar to me over a controversial golf course being proposed.

Very shortly thereafter I had an apology from the newspaper, and my original, unedited letter published right next to it.

Brian, you can't buy a new 4740 for the money he is asking so it looks like you get a loader for free! It does have a quick disconnect bucket and the canopy I couldn't see if it has any remote valves that might also be a plus but for 19,000 it looks to be a good buy for the hours.

The other irony is that many of the cars that are being traded in are cars whose owners drove them very little. College kids, train station cars.. etc. So the effect on gas consumption is next to nothing. The program is more like a lottery as Greg said, we all put in and only some benefit.

have you ever replaced 3point hydraulic seals? what hydraulic resvoir do u check for the power steering and the 3point I have one in the very front and the one next to the gear shifters?

Sounds to me like those long runs with the lights on are depleating voltage in the battery. Does it have an alternator? You should be getting 14 volts out of your charging system. When you hit the gas do your headlights get noticably brighter? If your battery lasted 5 or 6 years the charging system must be working some. Check all your ground connections, have to be clean and tight. If you have an alternator, make sure the belt is tight. You could have a regulator that is faulty.

I have 2002 TC33D. I use a 5' RC and can cut down and mulch-in-place 4" caliper trees with ease (I also have a hydraulic top link which allows me to get the rear of the RC off the ground about 4' for much better attack angle). I regularly cut 6-8' weeds and saplings in 2nd range, and sometimes in 3rd. Rarely does it slow even in 3rd.

From what I understand, your machine would be the next size up from mine. I hear from the engine back it's not a a Japanese-made machine but English. That said it's a different machine than the trouble-frought TC33's and down. (It's sort of like having a '70's Jeep or AMC or British car--it goes with the territory it will have electrical problems)

The ones like yours I'm aware of love their machines and have not had any issues with them. That siad, these are not made like dedicated backoe/loaders--the loader buckets like all their distant cousins are not up to the task since they bend--and stay bent--easily.

Personally, for my needs the TC33D is the perfect size and combination of weight and power.

At least a couple of the "broken" tractors noted in this thread had 7308 loaders. When comparing a 6 year old tractor with a 7308 loader with a newer model with an "LA" loader, you see that the loader attachment to the tractor has been beefed up with significant bracing. I'm wondering if this was an effort to fix a design flaw in the previous setup. Because of the potential liabilities, I doubt NH would admit it, but is still makes me wonder.

Does anyone know of NH tractors with LA loaders breaking in half?

Since I started my posts under "clutchs", I wonder if I am required to start a new thread under "starters", because that's what I am stuck on now. Oh well, here goes just the same. The starter functions great on the bench, however, the 9 tooth bendix does not engage the flywheel when mounted. Since I have no idea what the end of the gear (9 tooth) should look like, I have to assume there in lies the problem. As far as I can tell the flywheel is OK. It is almost like the starter motor/solenoid is sending the gear forward OK, but the gears will not mesh....most times...eventually they will...other times the motor just spins. I can duplicate this on the bench by blocking the gear from full motion forward..(with an open end wrench over the shaft.)
