Yes that is my understanding, of course they would only want to do that if the market value of the cars on the lot were less than the Cash for Clunkers rebate.

Ok, thanks. I have the shift linkage disconnected and had hoped to try shifting it by hand but.....I had a flat on the front. Went and bought a tube and put it in but the dang stem came right out of the tube when I blew it up. So it sits on the jack. I may try to shift it by hand and see if it wants to move forward even though I will have the jack under till I get another tube tomorrow.

18MM on the nuts for the hubs. The neutral switch is screwed into the top of the transaxle. When you put it in neutral a button on the linkage inside the transaxle hits the plunger on the switch and closes it. This creates a path for ground to the start relay so when the ign. switch goes to start the start relay pulls. The switch you think is the neutral switch is either the switch that lights the light for the emergency brake indicator, or the Gator used to have a back-up alarm on it, and it's a switch for that.

The bald eagle has made a dramatic comeback in eastern Iowa in the last few years, it is real common to see them now. 20 years ago you had to drive to the dams on the Mississippi River to see them.
Being they are scavenger birds there are some who sit in an old dead tree across the road form our farmhouse watching me come and go. Being I have to use a walker to get around anymore they are watching for a free meal if I drop in the yard.

JDGREEN's fix seems to be the correct low cost fix. I have over 40+ hours onsince change do dad. 9 hours straight heavy use today skidding logs then 3+ hours pto rpm mowing.

Tractor keeps starting fine. Has not done that this many hours straight in a long time.

I'll have to say if tractor bothers starting change the do dad.

Did you check the spark at the plug or the wire? Plugs go out of them sometimes. I would start with the ignitor. It's the 1' square silver thing on top of the motor with one black wire going into it. That controls the spark along with the coil. Check the black wire and make sure it isn't touching ground anywhere.

WOW 11 MPH doing tight turns???? I know it not sound very fast but that is moving on grass. I typically mow at 3-4 mph and I consider that fast for a real tight turn with tractor and turfs.

ZT Ferris will mow at 8mph and no way can that make a tight turn at that speed. On pavement you better be hanging on tight if you try a 180 turn.

Again guys, this site has a wealth of information.

I suspected the dead battery was causing the alt. not perform correctly and now I kind of understand why.

As far as the lights, I never use them.

Since I do have 8 forward speeds, I will bring the RPM up and use different gears. Honestly, since tractor and diesels are new to me, 5 years ago, I alway wondered if I was doing the right thing leaving the engine at idle.

I want to say you need an ignition module( AM132577 ) but I'm not 100% sure. They go out in different ways, usually it won't start at all or try to start when you let go of the key. At around 350.00 each,that you can't return,that's a pretty big guess. I don't know what else would stop the motor dead tho. They can run on one cylinder. Your call.

Hopefully some one who knows this tractor will chime in but that sounds as if filters failed due to heat or such or line collasped or something happened to a pump or a valve. Sorry I have no other idea for you.

I hardwired a terminal from the battery to the outside and put a matching terminal (and an inline fuse) on the sprayer (as well as on a battery charger and an inverter).

Here Yanmar provided for its export models a 1/4"-thick Operator Manual that also has exploded parts drawings. You can buy from a dealer a 3-ring, 2" Service Manual and a similar Parts Manual. For non-export models, Murray Publishing sells various components of those, translated into English. I'm not familiar with yours but your best bet might be to find what other model for which manuals are available is closest to it.

I picked-up a used 2006 Polaris Sportsman 450 this spring with 125 miles on it. I got a bargain on it. It runs very smooth at idle but starts a little hard without the choke even in 50 degree F. weather. It does run just a little rough for a couple of minutes, then runs fine.<br>

I'd suggest you pop the seat and pull the air cleaner cover and make sure something isn't plugging up the air flow. My other suggestion would be to make sure you have clean gas and no moisture in it. You may want to use an additive to displace moisture and see if the problem goes away.<br>

It may have been setting around and just needs to get cleaned out by running it for a couple hours straight at a good engine speed following any break-in instructions provided by Polaris.

Best I can tell Ford made them in '80's and early '90's. I have a 1991 LGT125 that I put a new 14 hp engine on. Sold the deck though.

What kind of accessories are you looking to add? If it were me, I'd sell the oldster and get a larger newer hydrostatic one (these 20-year-old-plus machines don't have good resale value--I'd be happy to get $300 for mine--the engine cost $475). There is no comparison. Then you can add accessories that mean something--like a front loader.

Where in Canada are you, eh, hoser?
