Hi Jerry,
I sell/have sold/do sell 5 foot mower rotary mowers for the size Farm Pro you have (Jinma 254-284).

Sounds like you don't have a loader...... Adding liquid ballest to the front tires may be enough ?? Assumeing you think the front end is to light with the mower lifted up off the ground. I have only noticed the front end starting to get light (without a loader) when I start getting close to 800 pound hanging off the 3 point??

You could / can fabricate a front bumper like to accept bigger type style / weights or to accept more of the factory style front weights which I do have on stock.

Your valves have to be set at .005 at TDC of the compression stroke. The only thing that can be wrong, if you loosen them up and you get 175 PSI, is you aren't adjusting them at TDC of the compression stroke. Did you check the valves for dimples where the rockers contact them ? The exhaust valves are usually the worst. This can give you a false lash reading. I assume you lapped the valves and deglazed the cylinder before you put it back together.

hello,i need some help ive got a jd gator 2x4 with a kawasaki engine,it got sumerged in water,tore it down and had a bent valve,i replaced both valves,piston rings,and all gaskets,i only have 50psi of compression,and it isnt pumping any fuel from the pump,what can i do to fix whats going on with it thanks

I've got an enclosed cab on my skid steer. Couldn't justify the $3,200 for A/C, but did get the heater option for $800. I've worked in 100 degree temps with only the blower running and the temp control on the coolest setting. I barely broke a sweat which isn't bad considering the cab is surrounded by metal and not a whole lot of glass like a tractor would be (my glass is tinted too).

cab or not is hst plus that good how does the ac hold up

Got JD 5083E after all.
The creeper gears were not required.
I till @ 1-3 mph depending on how deep I want
to go. I chisel plow before tilling. Works great.

That shuttle shift is via cable. The most common reason for your problem is a sheared roll pin somewhere along the cable path. They're external, no need to take any covers off. This is a commonly reported issue, and conventional wisdom advises to double up on replacement roll pins. That is, find the correct replacement size, then buy a smaller one to drive inside the replacement. In short, a 2nd roll pin reinforcing the 1st roll pin from the inside.

That's too bad, but I've found all to often that minimum wage store employees aren't all that disposed to go that extra mile forya. I'm thinkin' email Northern's hq in Minnesota - the ones that put out the catalog - and give them the info that's on your engine label. Good chance you can get a few filters via mail order that way.

Alternatively, Rural King also sells that tractor - as their TK404 (Tractor King). Once again, the stores employ minimum wage types, but their hq in Mattoon (IL) may be able to help out via mail order.

Many are easy to find just look for a pair of wires running to say, under the seat, to pto switch lever, brake and clutch pedal area. To me it is easy to follow the wires to find the switches. If you have a way to check for currnet, see if it is to that switch and then through it when it is placed in the safe or disconnected postion. Or if you way to test, then using some sort of wire jumper by pass one switch at the time to see if you can find the problem. Just be sure you have the tractor safe when doing so, such as PTO off or trans out of gear.<br>

I used to do the kind of jobs you are looking at without hesirtation too, still have all the equipment to do it but Mr. Arthur Itis has taken over.
Getting some much need rains here in East Iowa today too. the corn market has already hit the skids, but likely will really tank today. Frank.

Frank, I suspect they thought about it and basically decided that anybody who's opinion they valued, the true farmers and commercial buyers, would know the difference between a 'true' Deere and a big box store marketing machine mower.

Look at it this way, the more money they make from the Yuppies in the their shiny half tons buying 3 2x4's at a time from Home Cheapo and buying a "Lawn Deere" while they're there the less money they need to make off the rest of us! LOL

Hi I found a Fram filter PH3985, I had to use the gasket from my old filter, the gasketon the PH3985 is a little to small for the oil return ports

Thanks, the baldwin website cross reference did not recognize the part number either. I did find a Fram filter that works, well sort of I had to take the gasket off the old filter which did fit the fram filter and is working fine with no leaks.
The fram P/N: PH3985, I went into the local kregan store and opened boxes until I found a filter the right size and same threads.

The "Atlas Seat Cover for Riding Mower" fits my Yanmar seat. Well made, lots of storage pockets on the seat back, $30. Sold through MTD in the US where it likely costs less.<br>

It's not perfect. The seat part slides a bit on the tractor seat so I applied rubbery calking/adhesive to it and let it dry before re-installing. And it comes with its own carry case, the oddest accessory I can imagine.

If that's a grey-market Japanese (Mitsubishi?) you have the Japanese-application PTO speeds. You can tell by the sound at the rear which is the slowest. Keep it there, even locking out the other two, which are used only for paddy-frothing tillers.

Frank, can remember years back my FIL telling he could hear the tobacco grow when hot and plenty of rain at night when all was quite. Sadly never all quite anymore. Something special about a night with no man made lights or sounds at least once in a while.

When construction was running wide open here I noticed God had failed to put any dirt where man wanted it. Dirt from first area was hauled to second area. Dirt from second area hauled to third area. Dirt from third area was hauled to first area.

Frank, we are doing some of that mixing with clay and sandier dirt even now.
