The bellhousing is almost certainly cast, but you should be able to get it welded. The catch is that it's gotta come off the tractor so it can be cleaned well, before being welded inside and out.

Since you have to go through that much work just to get it [b]off[/b] the tractor, it might not hurt to have one freighted in from a Yanmar graveyard somewhere down here in the states. I don't have the details anymore, I gave all this info to the folks that bought my YM240. But there's a Yanmar boneyard right here in western KY, another one up around Indianapolis, and yet another down in Tennessee. That suggests that there may be one or more closer to you as well.

KW; After the dealership I refered to went out of business I started hearing some tales from people who trusted them to do the right thing, but as it turned out they were cheating the customer big time. So after the synthetic gear lube I passed on I kind of doubt that if they did change it at all that it would have been anything but common gear oil, how would I have known what they did while waiting in the comfy waiting room dozing off to elevator music. Free coffee and cookies, WOW.

Greg, I spent a few years as manager of a tire and battery store and disagree about the significance of SG testing. I have personally tested many batteries that measured full battery voltage and failed the load test due to internal shorts. On the flip side, if a SG test showed a weak cell the battery could still pass a load test and start the vehicle. I never saw a battery that passed a load test fail to crank a car that had good cables, connections and a working starter.

I thought I sent an email, but I don't think it went thru. You need to spray all the flat surfaces of the bearing front and back. There is a shield over the balls but the WD40 will seep in past it, you have to soak it real good. I think with everything in neutral and the emergency brake off you should be able to turn the shaft by hand and work the WD40 into the bearing.

I just use standard lead acid batteries. For lawn, garden, tractor and marine/(Deep cycle) stuff I like the Deka brand available at my local Cub-Cadet/CNH dealer. They are reasonably priced (about $37.00 for lawn tractor batteries with 350 CCA's-just bought two this morning) and they last between 4 and 6 years.

Most loose sight the reason the Southern States succeeded from the Union was over states rights. Many think it was only slavery. President Lincoln injected that after the war began as a reason for the North to fight. There are those who say had my state not fired on the Union Fort in Charleston Harbor there would NOT have been war. I do understand Hawaii had language in some federal law inserted and passed by the US Senate and House and signed by the president (not sure if Bush or Clinton) that affirmed they had the authority to separate as a separate nation or such as they were such when they became part of the USA. If that holds for them so was Texas. How does the Federal Government go about telling other nations how they must allow parts or people of their nation to split off to form their own separate nation but not allow a sovereign state the same?

Please do not take this as any way support for slavery and I am glad we were one large strong nation for the benefit of the world with WWI and WWII. It would have been possible were we two nations to found ourselves on opposite sides of the war when it came down to Germany and England.

I kind of think it could be a valve when it acts bad. but its not consistent sometimes it will do it in less then a min and other times it could take a hour or not even do it. I do appreciate everybody imput I dont know desiels I know gas pretty well.I dont think it could be a head gaskit. There is also a ignition issue that the clucth wount work inless you wiggel the key and when it happens the alt light comes on. I think it is 2-diff prob I think switch is bad. on the other prob can a valve stick intermediately? it has about 2200hrs how many is the norm for a desiel? Thanks

Ann, you & I are probably in a the smallest of minorities here, having lived in SA in the 'wild days', the best example I can give you is Zimbabwe. Your house, land and vehicles are taken, your bank account disappears (if the bank is open t get to it) because of a 'clerical error', probably made by a family member of one of the thugs who took everything else.

Who exactly is going to pay you what? The insurance company that was nationalized? The bank giving currency that is worth pennies on yesterdays dollars because of hyper-inflation?

Where are you going to go, and how are you going to get there?

I see it the same as life insurance, I don't want o have it, or need it, or God forbid, use it. But I sure as hell have it.

BTW, I strongly disagree with your 'give them the car' idea! On 2 seperate occasions someone in SA decided they wanted my car more than me, in both cases getting out would have meant not getting home.......ever. On one occasion the sight of the gun sufficed, on the second it wasn't enough.

I have a real hard time going along with the Obama plan to dish out billions to insolvent corporations, and yes I know it started in the Bush administration. Now if the Obama plan is so great why didn't they stop the billions of giveaway money that we will have to cover sometime. Seems better to let some big timers go down than to take all of us down with taxes.
Those who were so greedy, big finance, labor unions, corporsate bosses, etc. would have a tough lesson to learn.
It's hard to put a blame on those who were encouragesd to go in debt to the point that those who were loaning to them know they could never make it work. But on the other hand those willing to take such risky loans should also have shown some responsibility too, this one is a hard call.
Credit cards weere a good idea in their beginning until greed took over on the part of the card issuers, again greed is the culprit.
