A correction, when I said the price seemed high I did not realize the blower was included. It does not seem out of line with a blower.

Maybe you misunderstood what the dealer was telling you.

Kubota Finance is who really owns most dealer stock, they are the ones who fund the dealers "floor plan" or inventory loan. If a dealer starts to sell for too slim a margin to support the dealership adequately, I'm pretty sure the nice people at the factory would have a little talk with them about how much longer they wished to stay a dealer. ;)

On the other side of the coin, if a particular dealer consistently tries to price himself too high they would be just as likely to have a 'little chat' with him.

In my local area the factory got tired of a dealer keeping prices artificially low to take tenders, then selling parts and service for nothing less than MSRP prices to make up his profits. They showed up one day and told him that he was no longer a dealer.

It must be working, Kubota has the lion's share of the market.

Paul, are you running this tractor in Loris or Locust Grove?
I live about 17 miles from Loris near where 22 and 501 intesect. If you have it in Loris where did you buy from? The Farmall, was it used on tobacco? Use to have a neighbor who had one so old it ran on kerosen with manual lift.

Your nearest farm dealer, regardless of brands they sell, will be as likely to have, or be able to get them for you, as anyone else.

There is very little difference between the various makes. Nobody wants to have to (pay to) reinvent the wheel when they can just buy off the shelf parts from any one of dozens of manufacturers.

This Nortrac is hard-starting too,, usualy 15 sec. is enough but it doesn't mater what the temp outside is-hot or cold.

the belarus 400(d-144engine) and belarus 250(d-120engine)have same engine segments(cilinder,piston,head,valves etc.)just that 400 has 4 of them and 250 2.

You can take this for what it's worth. I retired after 40 years in the construction business. My farm activities are just a hobby. I agree with the gentleman that said earlier, he would rather spend 15 Gs on a used popular brand dozer than a new Chinese one. As I said, I agree with him whole heartly. One reason is the rollers, track rails and pins are made out of a poorer quality material than most popular brands and I'm only talking about Chinese built dozers. They'll wear out twice as fast. Japanese Dozers are extreamly well built and are of the highest quality and a pleasure to run. Cat, John Deere, etc speak for themselves. Cat dozers lead the industry for years in design and quality. They still do, but the cost is high. I would buy a used Cat or JD, their out there if you look hard enough. Good luck!

I beleive what you need is the CV joint. I think i sold both of the ones I had, but I have been able to repair ones for other brands. If you want to ship it to me, I'll see if I can get the parts to fix it. email me for my address or more info.

Look at it this way, If you want excellent dealer support, go buy a John Deere, a Cat, M.F., N.H. etc, etc! The extra 20 grand or so might be of your interest. I have 5 American made tractors and their all in perfect running condition. I bought this Foton because it was cheap and no other reason. even though it is one hell of a tractor. You bought a Chinese tractor to save money and you'll never convince me it was for any other reason. So get over it and except the fact that things break and if you don't know how to fix them, then you have to pay someone who does! Most things break on a tractor for three main reasons. The parts have just worn out from use, the tractor was too small for the job or just plain piss poor maintenance. You have to walk around them and tighten up a bolt or two once in a while. They don't take care of them selves!

Get your numbers together from your tractors manual. Go to a "Tractor Supply" store and look up the numbers for your recommended oil. My 60 hp uses mostly the same Hyd oils used for Massey Ferguson's.

FarmC, you can chill out a bit, we are all friends here. But if you can't there are some really good threads in the archives on wood splitters that might interest you, just in case that chip on your shoulder gets too heavy someday.

In my experience it's rare to find just a motor--they usually come attached to a tractor too.
That said, you might find a cheap tractor. Take the motor off and then sell off the parts--hood, trans, etc.
eBay is good venue to do that.
