I've never worked on an air cooled 6x4 but I know HPXs have a shut off solenoid on the carb to prevent run on after the ignition is shut off. The solenoid pulls a plunger back when the ignition is turned on allowing fuel to flow into the carb. To check yours, unplug it ( hopefully it is plugged in to start with, because it won't run if it isn't plugged in ) and stick a test light in the plug and turn the ignition on, the light should light. If it does, your solenoid is bad, if it doesn't, you have to check that wire and find out why it isn't hot when the ignition is turned on. If the wire isn't hot, try a jumper wire from a 12V source to the connection on the solenoid and see if your gator will start that way. I think solenoids are about 150.00 for an HPX. Cheap way to fix is cut the end off so it can't go into the fuel passage when shut off. I'm not recommending that, but it would get you going until you could get a solenoid.

Hi I recently bought this sweet machine,<br>
just for cutting a little bit of grass on my farm out here in Paraguay.<br>
Unfortunately the radiator(maybe used off) cant stand permanent temperatures over 32Celsius or more than 90Fahrenheit. The radiator showed me a real fountain..when I opened the cup after working..<br>
My question:<br>
1. Is there a bigger radiator to purchase, I have space to the front or can I install two..<br>
2.To work with more safety I prefer to install a temperatur gauge or other measuring device..how?<br>

You could bring it to an auto electric shop for the answer -- but first to have it tested. If the problem is that the battery doesn't charge, could be a bad battery or a failed voltage regulator.

A starter switch MAY help it for awahile--why I don't know--I've had 4 switches--- but my '02 33D has this same problem since it was basically new. I was going through main fuses which is located on the left hand side on a pig tail next to the "firewall". If that fuse is bad or is corroded the gauges won't work either. I'm fairly sure it's a control module or safety module issue--one or both. About $225 worth of parts. I simply just jump the solenoid to the starter with nail. Whatayaspect for $20K? ha ha

Anybody know in what way they're Yanmars, in what way Cub Cadets? And where they're made?

Yanmar basically builds the Tractor, Cub cadet builds the loaders But Yanmar tests them! I believe Ameriquip builds the Backhoe's. It's all put together in GA

I read that since the economy has turned down the rental car companies are holding their cars longer, buying fewer new cars. Also it was a long term practice of Detroit to feed the fleet markets for the bragging rights to "Americas most popular sedan". A dubious honor in todays market, that practice also aided sales as people would rent it and maybe buy it for themselves if they were pleased with the car.<br>

ok got the new belt on(was stretched and wore down 4mm) a...pulls the hills like it should and no shutterin'!!!!....i also put on new parkin' brake pads....i think the last owner road around with the parkin' brake on....smoked the belt and the pads.....parkin' brake locks tight with 3 clicks and i have to give it a lot less gas to make it go!!!!

As Greg mentioned, follow the linkage.

From what I can find as far as pictures of that unit they seem to be inside the rear differential housing. I saw a reference to 'bands' so I would assume that might explain the Belarus reputation for having marginal brakes at best.

Maybe there's nothing wrong with your brakes. Are you sure they are bad, or are they just bad compared to another tractor? LOL

Ken, when we have to do drains on the ponds we do them as multiples.

In fact, we usually also stagger them slightly in elevation too.

Instead of using a 12" pipe which can be ungainly, get a 12" step down adapter (any place that sells municipal water or sewer pipe will have them) to say 10" and then put a "street T" (the incoming meets at a shallow angle or a bend shape) and step down to say 8" and do the same, but have the stand pipe coming up end an inch higher, then step down to say 6" and repeat with the stand pipe being still another inch higher.

This way you will have 3 outlets, ranging in height from water level, to 1" above and finally to 2" above water level. Doing it this way, as the water rises so does the capacity to carry it away. If you look at a typical spillway, the opening is usually a trapezoid, getting wider as it goes up, this is to allow for an increasing volume of water as the level rises.

Finally, if you are going to use a vertical drain(s), be sure to protect the top with a cage of some form to prevent floating debris (or critters if that's an issue) from clogging it up.

Thanks for the advice but i have been looking and cant realy find any complaints about the 3040. I think it is because they changed the name of this tractor for 2009. I beleave it was a tc40 before but not sure. I will keep looking. Thanks again.

I would not be surprised if you are totally correct Murf. It is suppose to be only a few miles from me so it caught my eye. But think the Post Office line does apply here: if it sounds too good to be true...
I did wonder if they might have meant to have a 1 infront of the 4. There has to be something wrong there. Mistake or scam.

The dealer wouldn't give it to me. And they were all closed last night when it was stuck in the middle of the driveway. I called around today and found out what it was.
FYI it is for the reverse sensor being out of adjustment incase anyone ever gets this code. Thanks for everyones help.
