checked the rod and it is bolted up tight....i guess i need a belt?....i'v looked on the net and can't find any performance belts or any belts for it....guess i'll have to go to the JD dealer....

I can't quote the weight difference between my four in one bucket and the conventional bucket, but they are somewhat heavier. My tractor came with the third valve so hookup was easy. Mine is a clam type not a grapple but they are someahat similar. Mine is for the 430 loader on the Deere 4310. They are a handy option for grabbing up brush is mostly what I use mine for. When the clam isn't needed I switch to the conventiuonal bucket for dirt, sand, gravel, snow, etc.

Last year around our garden I used a Zareba Solar charger from TSC. It kept our 4 horses out fine. It is a low impedence "pulse" type and maxes out my 10,000 volt fence tester on about 1/4 mi of fence. It is now on loan with my neighbor and he is using it for temporary grazing for his 3 horses. He has had no issues either.
As for deer, I have heard (and others have already mentioned) that two rows of fencing about 4' apart is the most effective.

I will get some Sunday, most of the snow will be off it by then. I think you have a pretty good idea of how it works. Speed and lots of power is NOT what you want with digging, until you get much more experience.

Yes i would like to no if anyone has any input on the new holland 3040 tractor? I was useing a old fordson power major but it has alot of problems and parts are hard to find. The 3040 im looking at is hydro. transmission with the 260tl loader 72" bucket,ag tires, and joystick control. The dealer quoted me a price of 22,560 that includes shipping. What im asking is this a good price & is this a good tractor?

Propane is the perfect fuel for generators.. except maybe for price. Not sure diesel is much cheaper these days. The dealer keeps the tank full, there are no stale fuel issues, and the engine runs very clean on propane. Some LP gensets run at the perfect 1800 rpm as well (3600 is more common though).

Diesel generators are generally more expensive and last longer but there are more fuel issues. How often do you need the generator?

I'd say if you use LP already that may be the way to go, otherwise diesel. We already have a 1k gallon LP tank so it works well for us.

Frank it is a UATV 6x6 that I am thinking of selling. Was going to do it last year and then realized I had lost or misplaced the certificate. I do have the cancelled check from the dealer payment.

no i do not know the model. It has a kawasaki eng. with a belt and clutch type setup. electric motor turns over gas eng., but gas engine does not start, just pops occassionally from carb. carb has been just rebuilt by small eng repair and I checked the crankshaft keyway. Has great spark. What do I do now/

Terry, it would help if you were to tell if finishing mower or rough cut mower.

Below is link for Oregon blades for finishing mowers. I would suspect they have a replacement but they do not show your brand. I have Bush Hog brand it uses another brand but find the Bush Hog ones are heavier and last longer.

Thanks for the info. I have been reading the discussion boards on the New Hollands and did have some concerns about the electrical. That's one of the reasons why I started looking at alternative brands and have come to learn that most sub compact tractors are being produced in South Korea including the Mahindra Model 4110 (a serious contender). I like the ergonomics of the Kioti versus the Mahindra and the Kubota L4400. I don't see a lot of complaints about Kubota, Mahindra or Kioti versus many issues with New Holland and John Deere.

Yup. It is sometimes called a hitch pin or hair pin--kinda U-shaped with one straight leg that normally goes through the actual hitch pin or any rod hole and the other leg with a couple curves or waves that keeps it in place. Think: a cotter pin with one wavey leg.

I have a 7ft on a 45 horse new holland and it is great. I looked at others and this one was the best I found. As far as tires I've no problems with them.
