Yes I am a dealer and Yes I own this tractor. I'm a little curious what difference it makes? It was taken on trade on a new KIOTI, the owner said it needed some glow plugs, the block is busted in several places because it was operated with the loader bolts loose, the compression is down to about 200lbs (cold) so I figure its best to replace the engine. but it is tough to find.

Eric, I just found this site; would also appreciate a copy of the translations. I have a SD2200 UXE, well worn; I have fixed a number of problems, now need a new battery, would like to know what the information plates say!

I have been pondering the same issues for an all-steel 40'x8'-6" ocean-going shipping container I cut in half and turned into a 17'x20' shop.

You say infrared--is that electric or gas?

In these parts car dealerships use the gas-fired tube-type ones which, like Hardwood pointed out, heat the objects first before they heat the air. I found some on Craigslist for about $350-$500 which is about half to a third of retail.

My ceiling is 8' so I didn't want to feel like a hamburger at a fast food place with the heater on.

I ruled out gas (would need a big tank) and electric (I have only a 5000W generator).

Wood seems the way to go for me.

I was going to build a wood stove out of a 30 or 50 gallon steel barrel but the costs and my time approached the cost of a used stove. Today in fact I ended up buying two wood stoves: the high-efficiency one retailed at Tractor Supply for $1,000; the other was an antique, decorative, short-style potbelly stove. They wanted $350 for one and $150 for the other. I got them both for $350! Hopefully with winter coming on and a projected 20% increase in fuel costs, I figure I can sell the old antique for at least $350-$600 and basically get the other better stove for free---and then some.

Luckily there are many pallet manufacturers/brokers within a mile or two of me and many trucking companies who give pallets away--so that'll be my fuel. Pallet comapnies are PAYING to get rid of 40-yard dumpsters full of wood scraps.

There are a few differences (improvments) in the BX25 over the BX24. They are:

A much nicer seat with manual storage in the back, better loader lifting at lower rpms, and less "whiplash" when taking your foot off the hydro pedal. Another thing I like but is a matter of preference is the hood and I think the fenders are made of metal as opposed to plastic.

Other than that, they operate the same and use the same implements like mowing deck, snow blower, blade.

I Shibaura 2640 its a 4x4 with a front end loader and no power steering the tractor is great in every aspect except the lack of power steering it could break your arm if you hit a hole or something ive had it snatch right out of my hand my question is does some one make a power steering assist kit for this tractor or does someone know of a universal kit that i can make work.

I have a Shibaura S700D-O. I am having a lot of trouble with it. The person I purchesed it from bragged about how good it was. When he brought to my place I wa gone and now I can not get him to do anything. It was full of antifreeze in the pistions and radiator. I have drained everything and found a head gasket at Southern Global parts.<br>
i replaced the gasket and flushed the radatior and replace oil filter and did all that needed to be done. It is still over heating (beside hard to start) I did do some repair to the block but have a worry that the head might be cracked? I do need a manual for this machine and some direction for repairs (beside needing the time). CAN ANYONE HELP!!!!??? <br>

Turns out it was an ordinary puncture this time. (With the tube, the only place the air could escape was the valve-stem hole, suggesting that's where the problem was.) But thanks for the ideas.

I'm trying to find engine specs for a SD1500.<br>
Mine starts really hard. I've removed the glow plugs, cleaned them and tested them and they are working. I've taken a compression test on the cylinders and they read 180 & 185. i installed a new 800 cranking amps battery but it still starts very hard. I have to glow plug it and try to start, reglow plug it and try and start again, and continue this until after about 10 tries it will start. Each time I try to start it it acts as if it will start and then it doesn't.<br>

Any ideas!!! Someone told me that maybe the valves need adjusting.

You can likely find the equivalent model that was imported to the US under a different brand name.

If that is the case most manufacturers give out the manuals free in order to cover themselves from liability issues if a subsequent owner was hurt because they did not knowing the proper operating procedures.

Here's a good place to obtain a ballpark figure for your asking price. Remember, however, that although you essentially have a NEW tractor, there is no warranty remaining on it. Therefore, the asking price is going to have to reflect this.

Check with your banker. He'll be able to provide you with the blue book value on the Kubota L3010. That's always a good place to start.

I ended up compacting it the hard way. I made a makeshift manual compactor with a four foot 6x8 with some screwed on 2x4 handles. Dropping it on the soil from 18" or so up did a pretty good job compacting. It was hard work but only the soil immediately in front of a 40' retaining wall needed compacting, the plate compactor did the big gravel area behind the wall.

John, there aren't any pictures, none needed.

The now infamous Murphy Pipe is just a piece of steel pipe that has been slit to slip over the cutting edge of your FEL bucket. Other than the slit the only other thing you have to do is to drill a few holes, on a small machine 2 is enough, and either weld a nut on top of the hole, or thread the hole in the pipe itself. Then put a bolt through to apply pressure on the bucket lip to keep it in place. A second nut on the bolt will act as jamb-nut to lock it from loosening off from the vibration.

The whole point is just to give you a smooth rounded edge that won't mark paving or dig up gravel.

I have several shop lights that I've purchased over the last few years from Home Depot. They say "Shop Light" on the carton but I believe the manufacturer is Commercial Electric. When I first started buying them about five years ago they used either T-8 or T-12 bulbs. It said so right on the fixture. Now I noticed (Just by chance) in lights I recently purchased that they say to use T-12 bulbs in them; they don't mention the T-8's at all. Now I understand that the T-8 is one inch in diameter and the T-12 an inch and a half. The pins are in the same spot so is there a particular reason not to use the T-8's in a fixture that calls for T-12's? I know I've run T-8's in the T-12 fixtures before I realized they switched them to T-12's.<br>
They are all "Instant on." I do like the T-8's better and it seems T-8's are taking over T-12's so why do they say use T-12's? Thanks for any insight, Steve

A manual is important, but not in this case. Rear hitches have been standardized for decades, so all rear attachments fit all tractors in the same category. There are four sizes or categories of hitches. All you need to know is that yours (I'm pretty sure) is a Category 1, which is what the mower needs to be (though in some cases you can get adaptors to use a different category). There are always some adjustments to be made on the hitch for each attachment, and often, with mowers, on the PTO shaft too. Hope that helps a bit.

To make matters even more confusing, not so long ago Deere made a 4100, a 4110 and a 4115.

You would think the 4105 would fit right in this series, but they were all 20-24 horse compacts.

thanks guys - I picked it up from the dealer and did the teardown myself. The dealer reached out to MTD and he relayed MTDs reluctance to try to help me out because I'm not the orig owner of the machine :( Turns out there are six grade 5 bolts holding the differential planetary gears and four had backed out (no loc-tite or torqued correctly?). The hub locking mechanism was banged up pretty good too. Replaced all the parts with Cub Cadet parts and put it all back together (with grade 8, loc-tite, and a torque wrench). Cost about $350 + 2.5days with about half of that for 5gals the $37/gal drive fluid. I appreciate the attorney comments - but in this situation I figured I could have it fixed by the time the attorney gave a recommendation. The trans isn't that complicated once you get it out.

I have the same issue. There are two holes about 4 inches behind the oil filter on the right side, but in my case the top one popped out. The hole doesn't appear to have threads. It comes gushing out when running. If anyone can send me a parts breakdown of the right side of the block I would appreciate it. I think it must be some sort of plug, like a freeze plug, but this appears to be in the oil pressure area, not water.

Jhibberts,

If the pedal is moving as it should, I'd assume that either a linkage pin, or bolt has fallen out. These things rarely break.

It's in cases like this that a shop manual comes in very handy, as it will help you understand how the parts relate to each other, as well as how they function within the assembly.
