Depending on how hard you stepped on it...could you have bent the linkage? Does the pedal stay down, or is it at the right attitude as far as you can determine or recall?

If the pedal stays down it might be just jammed or stuck due to rusting for lack of lubrication. If so, simply wrap a length of rope or tie-down srap around the pedal and pull up in it--don't force it too much. You might have to do this several times pushing it back down to get it loose--but lube it first before you break something.

I'd do the easy thing first and buy some good penetrating lube like Liquid Wrench or similar (not WD-40 which doesn't penetrate really) and soak the linkage which should be all but exposed. While you're there spray anything that looks like it can (or should :) ) move.

If still no-go, remove the pin(s) one at a time from the pedal linkage and see if you can determine where the hiccup is.

I've had situations where sticks/branches, debris, mud, etc. have gotten in the way of proper operation of levers. In some cases I have pins drop out or even shear off.

I have them on my skid steer. While they are very useful they have their drawbacks. Mine are about 2" across and about 1/2" shy of protecting the stems. Debris gets caught in them from the side and can still poke out the stem. And they hold mud. Being on a skid steer they see a lot more abuse than any tractor but nonetheless they do get dented and bent to the point a tire chuck won't fit in the opening.

I'm due for new rims and will install my own type that will consist of a length of 2" water pipe threaded on one end welded to the rim. It will be offset to the stem to allow the tire chuck easy access. A standard female pipe cap/plug will protect the stem and keep it clean.

I haven't tried sand though it may work. Short of that try dry straw, dry grass clipping or even dry leaves. I'd rent jumping jack from Home Depot. It should have the same effect of pounding your fist in bread dough or modeling clay if the clay is that wet.

Unless the John Deere website is outdated, the spec sheet on the 4105 shows that the engine is a Yanmar TNV.

I have a 3520 cab tractor and if I raise my 3 pint hitch all the way up it will slow the engine rpms down and puts it in a bind. It is a HYD drive and it will even slow the tractor down until I lower it a few inches to let the pressure off. I also noticed that when i lower it the hitch will drop all the way down with only a little movement at the leaver inside the cab. When it starts to fall all the way down I can pull back on the leaver and it will stop it. This just started a few weeks ago. It also has a factory diverter valve for the 4n1 bucket. It has 300 hours on it and fluid looks very good. I think it should be changed around 450 hours but thinking about doing it before then. I owned a 4310 before this one and it had a screw on top of the hitch that would stop it (I think ) but i have not found anything on this one. I did find a shaft on the left side that has a screw but I think it may be for the stop going down as i moved it and it did nothing to stop it from going up too high. Thanks for any help someone may have with this.<br>

Greetings, perhaps you could help me? I'm looking to use my BX23 FEL for snow removal (not too much snow in Maryland) and am concerned about the edge contacting the street. I've searched a number of times and seen references to the "Murphy Pipe" but can't seem to find the link or pictures. I see your pics show your blade setup, is this the Murphy pipe?

A cotter pin is not a "wear item" and if not abused should last forever. So if one snaps after a decade of service, can you demand a free replacement? Damages? Compensation? Of course not.

A tractor frame is not a wear item and if not abused should last forever. So if, sitting in the garage, the frame spontaneously snaps the day after the warranty expires, are you on the hook for the repair? Of course not.

You are somewhere in between, and in my opinion, closer to the second of these extreme examples. That's why I suggest you consult a lawyer who deals with consumer matters. Each state has its own statutes around, for instance, "implied warranties," and there might even be a "class action" lawsuit in this case. An initial interview should be low-cost or even free. Bring your documentation, photos, notes, etc.

OK, then it's wearing the wrong decals on the hood. No wonder AgriCat went bust. Anyway - with the help from that dealer, you should have all the right numbers you need for now. Going by both decals we discussed, the tractor is a rebadged JM250 (2wd) and the engine is a YangDong Y385. If it actually has 4wd, it's a JM254, same engine. All very common - especially the 4wd version - all very easy to get parts for from any Jinma dealer. It's also the same as earlier 25hp FarmPros sold by Homier (they might have 2wd parts), NorTracs sold by Northern Tools, and Tractor Kings sold by Rural King (to mention a few).<br>

Ok, now that you are quoting verbatim I understand their logic completely.

There is a difference between a "jumper wire" and "jump starting" and that was the piece of the puzzle that was missing. Mystery solved!!

Yes, although the language and grammar is typical of a bad translation, the risk is a spark at the battery causing a problem.

If you have a 'jumper wire' of suitable length, you aren't "threading a live wire" it's not live until you connect it to the battery, so you start at (but not connected to) the 'switch' terminal of the solenoid, then work it back to, and connect to, the positive side of the battery. It is only then that it is a live wire.

BTW, most auto supply places sell (for about $5 - $10) a nifty little rubber thing with a heavy push button on the top, and two heavy wires with alligator clips. You put one to the solenoid, and one to the battery and when (and ONLY when) you push the button it closes the circuit. Dead handy when, for instance, you're under the car and can't reach to crank it over. Much safer.

You might remove the rad, and get quotes from rad shops for a re-core vs. a replacement rad, and from auto-supply stores for an after-market or rebuilt replacement. You might as well get new hoses and clamps at the same time.

My experience with synthetics is based on personal experience. I've rebuilt or had the heads off of probably a dozen automotive engines in my life, several that I owned since new. Those that ran synthetics were always sparkling clean inside with virtually no visible sign of wear on cam lobes or lifters. Those that ran dino oil were always covered with brown, carmelized coating and there was always visible wear on cams and lifters. And the oil was changed at 3k miles on all.

Now you might ask why the engines needed work. Well, high turbo boost levels can be a bit hard on head gaskets :)

Yes. You should be able to go to just about any farm supply store and pick up a 3-point post-hole auger that will fit and work just fine with the B7500.

The B7500 isn't a very tall or powerful tractor. The auger will just barely clear the ground when traveling. You'll find that it will dig a nice hole for you though, so long as you don't attempt to go much bigger than about 9 inches on the auger bit.
