Yes it's true anyone can sue anyone, but they have to win a judgment first to win anything.

Homebuilt stuff is bought and sold all the time without agreements not to sue.

I'm not a lawyer, but did work for nearly a decade writing owner's and service manuals for the Big 3 that heavily involved the highest-level legal departments...like at GM when they released the---ahhhhem---not legal audio/video entertainment systems in minivans---but I digress :)

Kenny: I feel the word "manufacturer" doesn't apply here as he's (assumed) to not be a commercial entity. He simply "built" it.

However, that said, simply put a hold-harmless clause in the bill of sale AND include the verbiage 1. It was homebuilt for your own purpose, 2. Has not been designed, engineered, built or tested for the purpose for which is was intended, 3. Therefore, you are not responsible in any case should an injury or damage occur regardless of any legal assertions. 4. It's "sold as-is, where-is", 5. (and more importantly) the buyer agrees not to sue. 6. No warranty express or implied.

Or as in the case of a 30-year-old manlift I bought from another contractor, he stated on the bill of sale that it was "sold for parts" since he didn't want any legal recourse, AND it was not OSHA-certifiable due to its age.

Can not help your questions but let me suggest you post this as a new Message rather than to the end of this one as many will not look here and miss your request. Your question on the grass cutter is a puzzle, there is a classified section here and you may find one there but this is not a dealership site. If you are wanting suggestions on what your options are on cutter for your tractor there are many Green Guys here who will chime in with expert advice. As to the oil change, is there more to a JD oil change than remove the oil pan plug and the filter? Are you needing info on type of oil or amount? Great site. Hope you enjoy it. kt

I have TURF tires on both my Kubotas and if I have any chance of slippage, I put them in 4-wheel drive and drive on. No problem in snow either as long as I use a counterweight. Turf tires don't tear up my 3 Acre lawn like R4 tires would. Turf are my preference.

I not know if should be bent or not.

I'd look at the angle of the tie rod end to the knuckle its attached to. I it is square to it I would leave it alone.

But that's me. Not fix if it not broke.

I had a BX22 (the original) about 5 years ago, and now I have a Deere 4115 with a Deere 46 hoe.

My 4115 is the same class tractor (weight, power, wheel base, etc) as a Kubota 7800/2910.

I can tell you this much: if you think the Bx24 is under powered you won't be impressed with anything within 1000 pounds of that operating weight.

There is very little difference in performance between my BX and Deere backhoes and the Deere has 500 pounds more dry
weight.

I compare weights because that is where you get a lot of the power to penetrate the soil.

And don't get too stuck on the HP figures. Most people, me included, can't discern the performance difference between a 20 horse diesel and a 26 horse diesel. It is weight and hydraulic pressure that determine most of what you can do with a backhoe.

Bottom line: Assuming your operating technique is up to par (and it does take a while to get the finer points of extracting the most out of a small hoe), and the BX is not doing the job, you will have to go way up in size to get th performance you want.

If yours doesn't already have it a hydraulic lift for the box and a Deere brand toolbox that goes across the front of the box is a real neat way to keep some tools out of the dirt and weather, and only takes up about 10 inches or so of the box. Frank.

Try the Franzen Family tractor parts at Monmouth, Iowa. 563-673-6631. Have your model and serial numbers, casting numbers, anything that can help identify what you need. I've dealt with them for years, good honest people. If they don't have it they will have a good idea where to look. Frank.

If memory serves me correctly, there was an upper link bracket that should have been changed with the addition of a backhoe and not doing that was suspect in causing failures in the past.

I haven't priced a MMM for a compact lately, but did at one time price one for my 4310 Deere and ended up with a rear mount finish mower because of the cost difference. I'll agree with the others a good used rider would likely cost less than the MMM and not have the hassle of mounting and dismounting it. Frank.

finally got my backhoe mounted onto the ck20 I brought home about a month ago. bought the rear remote kit and the subframe from my local kioti dealer and installed the remote did a little mod work to mate the hoe to the frame this weekend. hope it works as good or better then it did on my old b6200.<br>

Hello everyone,

Well the JD service department phoned last Friday to come pick up the XUV as they thought they solved the issue. We drove the unit in the parking lot and everything seemed fine. I asked what the resolution was and they stated they did not have to replace the drive shift but only adjust the backlash. As communicated before JD did release a tech bulletin to the dealers about a backlash issue from the factory. After about 2 hours of use the random clunk sound returned but the snapping or rattling is still gone. We will continue to use the unit and see if anything returns. We just don't have a good or quality feel about the unit anymore. I will update as use hrs progress....
