Hey Bill you could always run down the road to Golden Eagle and take a few measurements , I hate dropping equipment off
for a problem I can fix easily my self, even if under warranty, Craig.

BA, it pointed out the need and value of good safety chains. It amazes me how lax either our state laws are on trailers or the enforcement of the laws. I have never known of a trailer causing a cop to pull someone unless big rig. kt

You probably would have to move one set of wheels inside the cutting area so you can cut all the way to water's edge. kt

I realize this is a long shot, but I'm in SE Minnesota right now. I'll be taking I90 through Wisconsin on the way back to KY later. Any chance your location is not too far off that corridor? If yes, I might be able to stop by and take a first hand look at your situation.

I will be accepting delivery of a new B3030 in the near future. Some of the projects I have planned in the next year or two will require a backhoe. Would I be better off with the Kubota BH75, or one of the Woods models, like the BH70 or BH80? Which is more cost effective?

OK, I'm taking Murf's advice and moving the wall. I was trying to avoid rebuilding the steps on the deck but that seems a lot easier than moving the conduit. The steps have 7-8 risers now and with the wall they will be down to only two or three, which is less deck to maintain (always a winning strategy!).

I had to remove spring that holds idler pulley, (it was tough) used screwdriver to get spring off...but getting it back on was the tough part...good luck

All tractors have to have an articulating front axle.

Only a bobcat (skid steer) has solidly-mounted axles that don't pivot.

Yes you need rear ballast--how much? Don't know---not familar with your machine.

For ready-made ballast, if you have a brush cutter (rotary cutter, brush hog) that will work great: from a leverage and weight aspect and being slung low will greatly lower the center of gravity. I can regularly cut drainage ditches having 45 degree sides with only the brush cutter as ballast and front suitcase weights. If I strat sliding sideways, a gentle touch of the cutting brakes corrects that. (Not sure if you have left and right cutting brakes)
Speaking of gravity and a loader...keep the loader bucket as low as possible to the ground, never ever drive diagonally or parallel to the hill side. If you have to drive with a load, back down the hill. If you have drive loaded, drive with the loaded bucket low and facing the top of the hill (some may not agree with this but this is how I do it).

I just put the kit on mine. It goes on the back side of the engine with the filter pointing to the left (driver side) of the machine. There is a small plate that is the same shape as the filter base addapter. Remove this and the oil o-ring (actually an hour glass shape ring) and replace it with the new seal ring that looks like a figure 8 and the filter base. The correct bolts are include with the kit. To replace the filter you can reach through the belt to grip it. You'll find that the engine oil will stay considerably cleaner. It's beyound me why they didn't make this standard.

They have wet brakes so your transmission fluid my be contaminated. Change oil and us John Deere Low Viscosity HyGard (TY2200 is a gallon). Other brands of hytran fluids tend to cause brake chatter. This cured my brake chatter. Mine would make noise right before it comes to a stop. Hope this works.

Don't use mulch unless the pond surround is shallow-sloped, or rainstorms will move the mulch into the pond.

There are a few options if I understand you are wanting to make beds for such as a garden. They make plows for this and you might be hit with having to make multipible passes due to your hp limit. Have link to a frame for such you use "hiller blades" which look like disc blades with for such and there are also bedding sweeps you can use and if not needing to keep the width the same you can also use a middle buster. Middle buster does have its limits on keeping the bed uniform and you probably will be driving on top of the area you are bedding and thus hurting the tilled soil by pressing it. The soil will have to be tilled for any of these to work. kt

Ours get the driveshafts removed and stored inside. The cutter itself is leaned against a support almost vertical, forward edge down. Lots of grease in all zerks, white lithium grease spray on everything else.

Tommy--you should check it hitched to the truck. Be sure the trailer wire harness is NOT connected.

All you do is remove the break away cable from the switch. Then try to drive away for about 5 feet with the trailer in tow. If it is working the tires should skid or stop the truck. (This test assumes the brakes are adjusted properly and the trailer brakes are cold, and the brakes are in good working order, as are the wiring and battery)

And be sure to remove the PTO this time---I'm jis' sayin'

I recently aquired an old 610 (same as 611) with the D65M engine and want to remove the injectors but they're seized. The manual says to pry them out after removing the retaining nuts. I've soaked them in MOOVIT for days and managed to pry one out but the others are impossible to move. Anyone have a better idea how to get them out? Thanks.
