The parts and the tools are not a problem but the supports would have to be made first. I have access to a automotive lift. I think the way to go for me is to fabricate some attachments to the lift to hold both parts of the tractor. Either way not a job that I will tackle until it cools off some here in south Texas. Only problem I have now with the tractor is shreding, it still has enough to rake with. Thanks.

Thompson, I use an air gun too because otherwise I generally need three hands due to the flex hose on it. You can be pretty sure it's working on spindles where you can't see any outsquirt -- if you DO see the outsquirt on other fittings. (And if outsquirt isn't a word, it should be.)

First off, Welcome!! :)

You can probably run a 3pth B/H without it interfering with the mower deck.

You would obviously have to put up with the seriously reduced ground clearance of the deck, as well as the problems you may encounter if you elect to go to a PTO-driven pump since you could be powering the mower & B/H at the same time if the mower is left in place.

I should point out though, 3pth-mounted B/H's and new operators are a dangerous combination that often results in damage to the tractor, often major damage.

No sticks, she is clean as a whistle underneath. I lifted the front axle off the ground and spun the tires and didn't hear the noise. I going to lift the back wheels off the ground and place jack stands under the axle, spin the reat tries to see if I can narrow it down. My TN55 2WD dosn't have this noise so I'm not going crazy.

JT; I know very little about MF compacts, but likely they buy their hydro units from the same source as many other brands. Someone here likely will know what they use and can tell you something about them. The only advice I will add is to be sure there are MF dealers within a reasonable distance should you buy the tractor. Frank.

Take it to a hydraulic shop. Rod bent or scored. If not wrong type seal, seal damaged during install. Hyd shop will know. If cylinder bad that can match it to new with black paint for half.

I have a TC33D and it's a perfect size for any jobs I do with it. It's so easy to drive my 3 y.o. niece can drive it. In 2002 I paid $13,500 for it with NO attachments or loader. I'm told the tractor alone sells for over $20,000 now. Keep in mind that the "D" or "DA" in TC line stands for "DELUXE", which means you get the "creature comforts" such as SuperSteer and 4x4, suspended/swivelling seat, cruise control, tilting/telescoping steering wheel and a mid-mount PTO.

It's funny (or sad really) how there is no connection to the size of a machine to the price---I mean for $14,000 you can buy a mid-'90's FULLSIZE backhoe loader.

thanks for the reply. I still think it is going to be a deal breaker for me. I mow a lot of up and down hills which cannot be mowed laterally w/o danger of rolling the machine. I hate to have to pay the extra $2K+ more for the Deere, but at least they have a very smooth transition (dampening) from reverse to neutral. I called the dealer and asked if there was a retro fit that could be made. He has yet to get back to me.
Even the new Yanmar diesel/Cub Cadet 24hp subcompact mower is very smooth. The latter machine is waaaay too expensive for inferior quality.

I've never had any luck mulching. Seems like I'm always trying to cut too much at a time. Could this be your problem? How about a slower ground speed?

I like Yoper's idea. Yes get rid of the tire fluid, I know iron is pricey, but a leaky tire with fluid you you just don't want. There are tons of nice used mowers on the lots. This time of year I think a dealer would be a bit negocable rather than carry them till spring.
Wow, a 200ft. cliff, that is a LONG ways down. Don't think I'd be mowing in the dark. Frank.

Sounds to me that a transmission bearing is wiped out. Have you checked the fluid level? If it's very low it's probably too late.

It's not a matter of right or wrong.

The reason the OEM battery is an 8 volt instead of a 12 volt is that you would be getting far more reserve amps and running amps with the six 8 volt batteries than you are presently getting from the 12 volt deep cycle marine batteries.

Look at the label or spec's on your batteries. Each of the six OEM 8 volt batteries have a 190 Ah capacity and 340 minutes at a 25 amp draw which is normal running load.

Notice I said EACH, so multiplied by 8 you would have 1,520 Ah capacity and 2720 minutes of 25 amp draw in total.

I'm willing to bet the deep cycle 12 volt batteries you are now running about the same output each, but with only 4 batteries not 8 installed you automatically have only half the capacity.

Having said that, my point was that with a much lower reserve and capacity in your batteries, the voltage begins to drop off a LOT faster than it would with the extra capacity and reserve the original batteries would have offered.

Drive over my neighbors JD L130. :) Kidding. I would like to eventually get the front loader for it and front blade. I have been looking at the Simplicty Legacy and Kubota also. New Hollands Web Sight is the worst because they don't show attachments available for it or prices. Thanks for the websight, it is helpful to do comparisons. Scott
