There is a similarly equipped one listed for sale on tractorhouse dot com with an asking price of ~8500 but they didn't say how many hours were on it. You might ask the dealer what the price of a new one is and you can always offer 8500 and let them counter. If you're financing the purchase and they offer 0% financing on a new one with warranty then that may be the better route.

What all do you intend to do with the machine?

The update is that I haven't got to the clutch yet. The starter went out. It took about three weeks to get it rebuilt. While it was sitting the injector pump got stuck. Took me over a week to find and fix that problem. Hopefully I will get to it this weekend. Thanks for inquiring.

thespaugh....I looked at the 3000 series JD and went 1000 pounds lighter with the JD2520 for my 5 acres. The 3000 series is very nice too, but at that weight, you better be pretty dry to mow weekly, also you may not get a good finished look after the 3500 lb tractor smashes the grass down before the deck hits it, and you will leave ruts, so you'll need to alternate mowing for sure. I can feel some of my ruts when i alternate weekly mowing and i'm at 2400lbs. good luck with your choice.

I cut @ 3 1/2", its really bad, the grills get plugged up have to stop or tractor overheats, tractor and operator covered with leafs or grass. I also have a John Deere GT235 with 48" deck (for sale now} with mulching kit and it has never done what the New Holland does. Thanks for your reply, any other suggestions?

Trying to find meaning of dash light/symbol.<br>
The symbol is a trans type symbol(gear outline) with a dotted line in the middle ,Filter type(right to left)<br>
there is a solid drop (ie oil)on top of the line <br>
and a drop (out line of drop) on bottom of line.<br>
light came on today and will not go off. <br>
wan to make sure what it means befor I start tearing it apart.<br>

Surgery commenced on the B2910 today. Getting the machine apart was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The root cause of the failure was a bent shifting lever. I'm also going to replace the shifting fork at the same time while I'm in there since there were signed of wear spots in places. Everything else looks fine. I'll post some photos once I have the new lever to compare against. For those of you who change gear ranges a lot, be as gentle as you can slamming from one range to another. It took almost 670 hours to cause a problem for me, and I'm always changing ranges whether it be moving stuff around, snow blowing or grading with the machine.

Painful! I bet!! Here is my .02 on pain reduction. I also have 2 disks L3-4 L4-5 and S1 that have been wrong for almost 20 yrs. I just recently can add C7 as the pain travels down my middle finder now (fron the lattest problem. SO, for 20+ years I have had to deal with work (which I never miss) and pain reduction. You all know I am a tool and die maker so pain mads need to be non threatening (me be able to function) Here is my latest routine. 1 Ultracet at 4am one at noon and after work I take one also. Since Ultracet is next to no help whatso ever I am also now taking an anti inflamatory Skelaxin (only one I have ever found to not meke me sleepy) 3 times a day. This combo seems to work decent. I have two problems, one is addiction runs high (off the charts) in my family so I will not take anything too addictive or stronger than what I said. The other is from ADVIL, for that reason stated above, I used to consume advil at the rate of 1000mg 4 times a day. This WILL reduce if not eliminate just about all your pains. As stated before though the side effects are stomach issues. I had no issues for over 15 years. Can not say that now, reflux and stomach probs so I had to get off it.
My suggestion, stay away from pain meds (except fopr sleeping) and load up on advil for the next few days!

I just seen an article where GE is looking at selling off their consumer appliance divison as it doesn't 'fit' into their business model.
On made in the USA has anyone seen or heard of the Staber brand -they are made in Ohio. They be expensive- base washer is $1300. from their web site they show the entire production and guts of the unit. Stainless steel drum and tub and they claim to use mechanical switches vs electonic switches and controls. JUST one weird thing about the washer is --its a top loader but the drum is mounted horizontal! We used a machine in Germany very similar to the Staber, but on a smaller scale...my wife was impressed with the quality of the wash and how much dryer the clothes came out, that prompted my search for other washers like that one in Germany and came across the Staber. So I'm wondering to hear if anyone has had or knows of experiences of Staber. They sell mostly direct to user and say you don't need a svc tech -- they will walk you thru the repairs over the phone.

I think you just solved your own problem.

As I said before, the voltage in a battery drops off, the current rises proportionately. I've heard from many different sources that this is the number one killer of the OBC.

About the zero turns and hill sides. There are units that don't have enough tire or weight to them to mow anything more then level ground. I see commercial guys with them on hills and banks that I wouldn't even consider putting a tractor!

I have seen a manufacture use the Helicoil in a very important use, the swivel bearing for a crane. You can be sure it was per all specs as the risk was high. I know it was done a few times and never knew of a problem with it. kt

GG; When I bought the MX5 cutter the Deere dealer where I do my business had not yet become a Landpride dealer so I never had the two side by side to make any comparisons. I just checked the Landpride website and it looks to me like a model RCR 1860 would be a comparable unit to the MX5. The MX5 has been trouble free and with a little car wax it would be hard to tell from new. My first piece of Landpride was my three blade rear mount finish mower, that purchase impressed me enough that I just don't shop around anymore, when I need a piece of equipment I just go get a Landpride and have never been dissapointed. I've never looked at a 4105, so I don't know anything about them, but surely someone here has so perhaps they can tell you something about them. Frank.

The rings in my older skidsteer were broken and parts of them were missing. It still ran great lots of power but dripped oil EVERYWHERE out the crank case vent and the muffler. And it smoked like crazy until it warmed up.

The tank's vented cap will prevent a vacuum in the tank which would lead to starvation (something Kenny's not familar with tehehe). Try removing the cap and see what happens.

If it is getting fuel, there should be smoke--white or grayish when not running, and a puff of black just before it starts then back to grayish right after it starts then to clear.

No smoke (usually) means no fuel (all things being equal and correct like no air passage blockage, fuel solenoid is working and open). But even with straight ether it should start if not completely lock up.

Jeff, on your home owners insurance, ask how they determine the value it or how they come to that figure. Ask what you can do to prove your tractor was worth more than they are allowing? They probably have a way to adjust the value but either due to ignorance or trying to keep the claim low are not telling you. Sadly all adjustors are not honest. The one you have may be doing all they can.

Jeff, some insurance companies will reimburse you at one level on stolen property IF YOU DON'T REPLACE IT BUT AT HIGHER LEVEL IF YOU ARE REPLACING IT RIGHT AWAY. They may not give you the higher level until you provide receits for the purchase. If you have your policy read it very carefully. It should tell you how they handle such. Also don't mind calling your State Dept of Insurance and ask for their suggestions. kt
