My D2650FD has been overheating when bushhogging lately. Bushhogging is the only activity that I keep it throttled up for a long time. There doesn't appear to be any coolant leaks, so I flushed the radiator and replaced the cap with a new one rated for 18 lbs. That seems to have worked, but I am concerned that I don't know what the correct pressure rating should be. <br>
Does anyone here know?

Hi Guys,

I have not been able to find a source for this ROPS. I did find a local welder that the local tractor shop uses, and he offered to make me one. I will persue this option when the weather gets cold. In the meantime, I don't take my tractor down the steep hills, which unfortunately is most of my property!

I am glad you are having great luck with the china tractor!
I do know of two loaders on Titan 435s cracking just ahead of the rear attach pin ????? And since my last post my friend that owns a 2006 model that has put 150 hrs on it has had to modify the backhoe attachment in a big way as he basically tore it right off the backend????? He then had a major leak in the left rear seal that was getting his brakes all wet and he had to tear that all apart and then couldnt get the part as they have changed it and told him it would have to be special ordered from CHINA! As there wasnt any in USA or CANADA!!!! He is a cleaver guy and milled the piece out to accept AMERICAN size seals and then did the other side and told me had about 30 hrs labor tied up in it.
His latest project is that the paint they used in 2006 has faded severly and the arms on the loader are so thin now that he is going to repaint them and to do it right and remove everything it is going to be another labor intensive job . The dealer told him that Titan will pay $200 to do the work!!! He took it to a body shop and they said it will cost $800 to strip them down and do it correctly. So he is going to buy good paint with the money and put another 30 hrs into that project but he says that should be the last time as he has a new idea ................ as soon as the paint drys he is going to buff out the cowling which is also very faded and he has bought a new FOR SALE sign and is going to attach it to the chinese tractor...............:-(

You would need to buffer the motor from the loading a saw blade would put on it.<br>

Basically you use the 4 bolts of the face mount to fix a chainsaw bar to the motors casing, then merely drive the chain with the motor, then any pressure is on the saw bar and the casing, not the motors bearings.<br>

This is how the commercial timber machines and wood processors work.<br>

Back to the grass cutters for a minute, if you have some time to do the cutting, you can make a much smaller, lighter cutter, say 18" - 24" in width using an old push mower with a bigger engine and more robust blade setup. Just make up a tube frame to pull it and a wheel frame. <br>

A fellow near here built an underground house a number of years back. He just dug into a south facing hillside a bit and then started pouring concrete, sort of like an upside-down swimming pool. He then dug a large pond and buried the structure with the spoils from the excavation.

The neat part is his HVAC system. He put in many large 'chimneys' for lack of a better term, each one just tall enough to clear the surface, and each is topped with a plexiglass dome that has forms a parabolic lens. The inside of each chimney is lined with a moveable curved panel of black aluminum that runs around the inside. When he wants heat, he rtates the panel till it's in the sunshine, when it's too hot (rarely) he moves it out of the sunshine. A ceiling fan below moves the heat around.

His 'cooling' system is a long set of pipes that runs underground for quite some distance then into the house. When he wants cooling he can open the chimneys and pump the cool air in, forcing the hot air out.

He heats about 3,000 sq. feet with a small wood stove and nothing more.

KT; OK, I understand now, you meant to give the spray lube a try on the cable. Yes, that is worth a try but likely not a permanent fix. My comment comes from the experience of having owned several "70" series Case farm tractors that controled the throttle, power shift, PTO, and I think the gear transmission too all with cables between the levers in the cab and whatever they controlled on the other end of the cable. They had a tight fitting rubber gasket seal on each end that the cable its'self sid thru insude of the cable jacket. Those seals would get worn from use letting dirt and water in, soon as that happened it was kinda overwith, some WD-40 helped a bit but not for long it just attracted more dust making the situation terminal. Chaning one of those wasn't a walk in the park either, especially the cab end. Frank.

You know with the concern from hurricanes this area is given by the national media I probably have had more trees down such as you did than from hurricanes.

Kenneth, yes, it's basically a home-brewed geothermal system.

The water table in my area is very high (about 5' below grade where the shop is) and the ground is very sandy, I can pump water nearly non-stop and not run a 10' deep dug well dry most of the year.

I pump water out of the well (actually a 12' long piece of 2' dia. steel culvert standing on end in the ground) and run it through the rad. then it (and any condensate I don't use) go back down another 'well' (another piece of culvert) and back into the water table.

Jeff, in my case the shop is a concrete slab on grade, with an insulated wood frame, steel clad building on top. In the summertime my slab is ~60� - 65� first thing in the morning, during the day (with the south-facing bay doors closed) it will only climb to ~70� even if the outside temp. is in the mid to high 80's. In such cases there is moisture visible on the slab without my system running.
