Thanks you guys!! It is good to hear I may be on the right track. I pulled the crank shaft. I think I removed all of the bolts that hold the pan on, but I still can not get that thing to budge. Do you know of anything I may be missing or the best way to get it loose. It is almost dark out here but I really want to get this pan out and see what is what. Thanks for any tips!! Hey Mr. Hardwood, just curious I own a Hardwood flooring co and when I saw your name it made me wonder if you do as well. Thanks!!

Frank, I was thinking that pulling the starter rope for 20 minutes would give me a heart attack :) I'll be sure to stand back and use only small amounts.

Murf, that test you did was it cold and ice-covered? What I'm getting at is the test surface drastically affects the empirical results. And what were you eferring to with the angle degrees?

Rubber composition IMHO with regard to tractors, is moot only because you really can't "order" any particular tire or type of tire by the compound--what you git is what you git. And like you touched on, air pressure will affect any tire's raction. A tire that is too low will tend to fold into itself with traction onlyu around where it intially contacts the ground. Turf tires are more flexible by design in that the separate lug blocks lend themselves to be able to articulate or conform individually over an object---sort of like finger tips gripping versus a large, inflexible, lug like an R4--sort of like wearing a punching glove to grasp something (poor analogy, I know--me tired--pun intended)

First off, be really careful about using the FEL and a jack for the front of the tractor, the front axle pivots and the amount of surface area of the bucket bottom will NOT be enough to stop it from rolling on the front axles pivot point if it got bumped!!

I would be taking a good long look into that bell housing before I even thought about tearing into it. See if you can get, or borrow, an inspection camera like the Ridgid brand SeeSnake (see link below) they're not a lot of money (~$200) and can save a lot of grief on something like this.

I have seen a tranny jack used for the back half, the combination of adjustments and roll makes the process go easier for sure. Just be sure you're on a smooth solid floor, those little wheels don't roll well at the best of times.

I bought the Mahindra 2015HST in October 2007 brand new from Wilsons Tractor in Dade City, FL. From the very first beginning the tractor would stop moving under load and inclines. The engine RPM drops maybe 50 to 100 rpm, but the wheels stop turning. It appears like the hydraulic fluid is passing by internally. The tractor now has only 50hrs of use. When I took it first to the dealer, they just sold me a $300.00 service on it and never even aknowledged the problem. Just brushed me off. I took it back to Wilsons a week later, this time their technician realized there's a problem with the tractor. They got on the phone with Mahindra, and about 3 weeks later they got finally the OK to replace the whole transmission. After the 4th week I finally got the call to pick up the tractor. When I got to the dealer, I tested the tractor and guess what?? The same problem was still there. So I left the tractor with them again and called Mahindra. They did their best to brush me off on the phone telling me that's a problem between me and the dealer. The dealer also told me that there are so far 4 other cases identical to the problem with my tractor. To me it seems like there's a design flaw internally and Mahindra tries to figure out what to do. Meanwhile I don't have my tractor, going into the 5th week now. I believe that the dealer and Mahindra are trying to brush me off. I am going to speak to a lawyer next week. At this point I don't even want my tractor anymore, just my money back so I can buy something that works.<br>
If there's anybody else with the same problem, please contact me ASAP. The problem won't go away, even if Mahindra can patch and bandaid the defective machine for a while. And one day the warranty runs out and All I have left is a pretty red colored boat ancor.

When Joel is saying little heat he does not mean a little hand help propane torch for soldering copper lines. He is referring to more than that. Been there, tryied that. Welding/cutting torch heat works. You need to heat the pully and not the shaft and heat it all around the shaft. Also large gear puller with rust penetrating oil may work. Don't forget, heated pully will be hot to handle. Been there also. kt

Found the condenser dirty i have been washing it off but did not remove the screen in front of it. After cleaning it the head psi came down to around 200 at 78 degrees outside and the inside temp at vent was at 41 to 45 degrees. I think it will work much better now. I will give it a try tomorrow. Thanks for all the help.

SORRY that is NOT what happened...The only way to stop a runaway diesel engine is to block off the air intake, either physically using a cover or plug, or alternatively by directing a CO2 fire extinguisher into the air intake to smother the engine.

The unwanted oil can also come from failure of the oil seals in a turbocharged diesel engine (turbodiesel), from overfilling the crankcase with oil, or certain other mechanical problems.

In many vehicles, a crankcase breather pipe feeds into the air intake to vent the crankcase; on a worn engine, gases can blow past the sides of the pistons and into the crankcase, then carry oil mist from the crankcase into the air intake via the breather. A diesel engine will run on this oil mist, since engine oil has the same energy content as diesel fuel, and so the engine revolutions increase as this extra "fuel" is taken in. As a result of increased revolutions, more oil mist is forced out of the crankcase and into the engine, and a vicious cycle is created. The engine reaches a point where it is generating enough oil mist from its own crankcase oil that shutting off the fuel supply or cutting the ignition will not stop it and it will run faster and faster until it is destroyed.

I have a jima 284 that I just assembled and on the dash there is a green light next to the hand throtle. It doesn't seem to do anything but when I assembled the dash I had a couple of wires that I did't know where they go. can anyone help ? What is the green light for and any idea on the 2 wires. (2 single wires with white clips on the end)

I to have just purchased the 4200 VXD with the 31 hp.Briggs-Diahatsu.It has unbelieveable power and is quiet.I got the 60" mower,3-pt. hitch,folding rollbar for the options.I already have a Ventrac generator,steiner tiller,slip scoop 60"power angle blade.Has anyone had any problems with the machine or attachments? I passed the Orrville,Oh. 3 mi. turnoff and wished I had the time to see the factory,but was pressed for time (1200 mi.in one day to pick up tractor).Has anyone saw the factory,would it be a worthwhile return trip? Well,the deal on the 4131 didnt work out,so I made a deal on the 4200 VXD. It is twice the machine the Steiner 415 was.I have only put about 4 hours on this machine ,so I am still learning the controls,but it is quite comfortable.Antone looking at 4wd compact tractors should check one out.I will post more as I put more hrs.on it.

Sam, I'm not familliar with a 485 hoe, but the 448 is a refinement of the 48. I've had a 48 for my 4310 for years and it has been a good trouble free unit, so I'd expect the 448 to be everything the 48 is only maybe as bit better. Frank

It's the FEL control valve then, it's plumbed wrong.

Sort that out and the problem will go away.
