Good call. Arms held with weight. Some odd plumbing went on with the loader install. I chained the bucket and lift rams and the pressure then went to the 3pth. Will isolate loader.

Odd little duck, this tractor. Its no start situation was too much oil in the governor housing and a missing popet spring in the injector pump. Starts right up now and thumps away.

Naw, there's a finger at the end of the gear select lever that mates with a rod that moves the shift fork. There's a picture of it in your parts diagram (Drive Gearbox Cover). The finger could have simply slipped out of place, or any number of connected parts could have moved/broken.

Hopefully you have a diagram, it makes it easier to know what to expect. If push comes to shove, I can email you one. But basically you remove the cover plate, shift levers and all - and see what's happening (or not) underneath.

I am looking at buying a new JD 4320 open station tractor. I am getting a backhoe with it. The dealer is asking if I would accept the 448 backhoe instead of the 485. Does anybody have an opinion about them? Accordign to the dealer, the 448 is the same backhoe except some brackets that allow the 485 to be used on cab tractors. Does anybody know about differences between these backhoes?

If the temp gauge works it stays right on the lower green line. With the thermostat in it moves just past the green line but definately in the proper operating temp. The reason I pulled the thermostat was to get the temp down to see if the temp sensor was bad and causing the fuel pump to shutdown but it didn't help so I assume the temp sensor is ok.

Yea I have a water seperator and I can see fuel is full. I even replaced to water seperator last year to be sure I was not sucking air through the top of it. I haven't had time to add the pressure gauge yet but that should tell me alot.

Hi My name is Phil, I am looking for some info. about this tractor, I need to find out how much and if it matters what kind of hydro fluid it takes and where the fluid level is. After I use it for about a 30 min. the rear lift arms quit working any info. would be appricated. Thanks Phil

The woods ground breaker X should work on that tractor , it also comes with a full frame that bolts on top of the original ,its a great little hoe ,Its also a 4 point mount!. I bought one a couple of years back ,it works great!, Craig.

I'm working on a 2130 AGS bought at auction with no documentation. I notice that the 6 speed gear box only has 5 gears. After removing the sheet metal, it worked in all six plus neutral. Apparently the slot in the fender prevents the shifter from going back into first or neutral. When the shifter is pushed all the way forward, it indicates 4th gear although it actually is in sixth. I see no adjustment in the linkage, and the shifter is keyed to the shaft. Is there any way to address this? Is there any adjustment available on the AGS gearbox? Everythings fits up perfectly except for the shifter position which I estimate is about 10 degrees off.

BH3131,

Two acres isn't going to be a whole lot of trouble for any farmer. I'm just guessing that your neighbor in WV has a rock picker that he uses on his tractor. If so, I'd hire the friendly neighbor to break up your two acres, remove the rocks, etc.

Over the next couple of years you might find yourself an old Oliver, Farmall, or even a Minneapolis Moline for little or nothing. Use one of these old workhorses to break up the remaining acreage.

Keep your utility tractor. You'll use it for a thousand different things on the farm.

I recently purchased a Shibaura D23F tractor with a front-end loader attachment. The control valve that operates the front-end loader is cracked just above the port labeled �T� on the valve block. When the 3pt hitch is raised to the top limit, there is a geyser of hydraulic fluid that spays from the cracked valve. <br>
I am not experienced with hydraulics but from what I have researched this is what I can share. The hydraulic pump is mounted to the engine. The output of the pump is directed through a �� metal line for 10-12 inches before it converts to a rubber hydraulic line. This rubber line then connects to what I can determine is a 2-spool valve with two levers controlling the bucket and loader arms. The rubber line connects to a port located on the side labeled �P�. There is another rubber hydraulic line that exits the control valve from a port label �T� and extends for a couple of feet before connecting to the metal line that returns to the transfer case under the tractor seat. The 4 lines supplying the cylinders for the FEL connect to fittings between �P� and �T� ports.<br>
The FEL control valve has the following markings. On a tag riveted to the side are the following:<br>
Top line: �A1x2� Second Line: �0187 F02 TA� Third line: �912156�<br>
Stamped on the back of the block valve is: "1500 15"<br>

The 3 point hitch controls are located to the right side of the tractor seat. The controls appear to have been modified into a �hybrid� configuration. There is a flat-bar lever that pivots on a single bolt. To this flat bar is another bracket that I would describe as having a right angle at each end that wraps inward. These right angle tabs make contact to what appears to be control valves and are manipulated in/out as the flat-bar lever for the hitch is moved up/down. The control valves also appear to be solenoid valves by the evidence of wiring harnesses that were �cut� sometime in the past. <br>
I have drained the hydraulic fluid, which was clean. I have removed the internal suction line screen and cleaned minimal material from the magnets. I have also replaced the external hydraulic filter. <br>
The replacement of the control valve for the FEL appears to be a straight-forward process. However, I would like to know that when I replace this valve, there is not a remaining condition that would cause the replacement valve to malfunction or break. <br>

My uncle bought a used Massey Ferguson 1014 (with front and rear differential -4wd) from Germany and it had a user's manual BUT its all in German, none of us knows German . So i thougt if someone could tell me if i can find any English or Greek manual in the internet ,any pdf or some kind of reading file to download. It is the first<br>
time he is going to use a tractor like that, that is so "complicated" , of corse i want to learn how to use it too and help him. Hope to hear from you soon. <br>

The later model 2130's do not have the inspection plate that allows access to the clutch shims. There is adjustment in the linkage though. Try that first, it worked for me.

Like I said, the logic that extended warranties are generally bad for the consumer is sound. Yet we usually buy them on vehicles and they have always paid for themselves for us.

BTW, it's not always true that extended warranties don't cover "wear and tear" items. I was looking at Subaru's factory extended warranty and it does cover wear items like clutches and brake pads.

Is the reason they are wanting to sell make sense to you? Seems they did not have it long. Did they buy it for a project and it is now complete, are they tight financially and need to reduce debt or get cash? The reason for the sale may give you insight also. kt

Dave; First welcome to the board, we can always use some new blood around here. In todays high and sure to get higher energy costs we're all looking for lower cost heating, but maybe before buying the pellet stove you might check with your electric supplier. I don't know how much longer this will contuinue but right now electric radiant heat is the lowest cost compared to LP or natural gas here in Eastern Iowa. Frank.

We finally took a test drive in an 08 Impreza Outback. It sure feels like very high quality and quite substantial for a small car. The wife really liked it so we'll probably close the deal next weekend. The only complaints I had were that the low profile tires really don't fit the "outback" image and the auto transmission is only a 4-speed (but it's manual mode is pretty cool)<br>

The Toyota dealer loaned us a new Corolla while the Highlander is being repaired. It's not a bad small car but compared to the Impreza it feels quite a bit cheaper. Less features, more noise, doesn't handle as well, a lot cheaper interior. It's not a direct comparison since it's $5k cheaper and not AWD but the Impreza didn't have any of the cheap feel to it.
