I'm assuming that you've already changed your hydraulic filters and checked your fluid levels. If you haven't done that, please start there.

Additionally, there is a screen in the hydraulic sump that could be partially plugged. If so, this will prevent hydraulic fluid from flowing to your pump.

I wouldn't operate the tractor until you check all of these things thoroughly. If your hydraulic pump is cavitating, or starving for hydraulic fluid, you could quickly destroy it.

I enjoyed the videos posted earlier in this discussion. However, I would much prefer those shots be taken right here in the U.S.

Terrorism is a domestic problem. Therefore, the enemy must be within the U.S......and those bullets would be better put to use on REAL terrorists.

My PTO lever will not move to engage. Worked fine last summer/fall and the rest of the tractor functions but when I tried to hook up the bush hog, no luck. Even without any implements attached the PTO lever seems frozen and will not engage. The first pivot point is loose when the PTO handle is disconnected but pivot point into the transmission seems stuck. Any one have this experience before and what is the solution? Thanks.

John, I sell mowers with suspension and without, can demo both to customers and most go without suspension. The reasons are noise and by having a better class seat the one without the suspension rides just as well.

The front decks do like some extra room to manuver but I do like the rear discharge decks for trimming. The visibility is great having the deck in front of you while mowing and the ground speed of the F-series makes mowing large areas easy. We have the F-series at golf coarses where they put a lot of hours on them all summer and have some of the older F-series out with over 9,000 hours still at work but retired to home owners with just normal mower deck repairs of blades and a belt or two.

I agree with Frank. I suspect that your fluid is low.

Did you have it running at all yet this Spring? If not, I would be highly suspicious of water in the hydro reservoir.

If you haven't changed your hydraulic fluid in quite some time, it's possible that it is now contaminated with water, which naturally condenses in the fluid reservoir over time.

Depending upon the age of your machine, you may want to do a complete service of the hydro system. Drain all of the fluid. Change any and all filters. Refill the system with new hydro oil. You'll have to refer to your manual for the proper type of oil to use in your tractor.

Many lawn tractors use a straight #10 weight, NON-detergent motor oil for the hydraulic drive system, but yours may be different.

On the serial number plate or on the left side of the transmission it should tell you the model. The favorite one for us was the DT-7 which was the best version for most uses. Normally when a tach has been tampered unless rusty the numbers on hours or miles on cars won't line up properly.

On the tractor check the chassis, it will tell you a lot. Things like the clutch petal will have more wear marks from feet and the petal will have a lot of side to side play. The bucket cutting edge if replaced would tell of use. The three point hitch if used a lot will have loose balls on the end. The hitch for towing might also be egged out from the pin.

There are likely two or more ignition lockout switches; one under the seat, one under the stop pedal. On mowers with an electric PTO clutch, that's a third. They force the operator to be seated AND have the stop pedal depressed (AND in some cased have the PTO disengaged) in order to complete the electrical connection between the keyswitch and the starter solenoid. You may find one of these switches damaged/corroded/disconnected - or the PTO switch inadvertently engaged. <br>

5-17-08, Low oil pressure on my Kioti LK-3054 with 157 hr. is the same a the operator of a Kioti 1914 who posted on 7-2-2006 and I was wondering what his fix or cause was. My oil warning light came on at 1200 rpm as I was shutting down after a normal two hr. period, never did that before, I usually cool off at 1000 rpm no light on. I verified that I had 25psi/1600 cold start, and five min later 15psi/1600rpm and hot idle of 5psi. The highest rpm I went to was 2300/20psi There is no engine noise or vibration other than normal diesel. I haven't dropped the pan yet, waiting for a gasket from dealer, the P.R.V. has been verified not stuck. I put a needle pressure gauge on to verify the numbers. I use Delo 400 15w40 oil for diesel and Kioti filters. We use the tractor to brush clear and disk after. No abuse; oil & filter changed several times due to dusty conditions. Anyone have any info on the 1914 post or thoughts concerning this condition. BTW since I started this search on sever sites I have ran across three others with identical symptons

Living in CT myself and having a much smaller area, 12 acres to your 100, I would be seriously looking at the new Kubota M59 TLB. I have the now smaller L 48 TLB and consider it bullet proof. Especially because of our rock, rock ledge, cliffs, and did I mention more rock? THe new M 59 would do all that you need and then some.

What models should i be looking at

hi vern i was told other day when i was at the jd dealer that john deere just made a new tractor a 2720 it 30 horse power i am going to guess that its a little bigger too length wise and wider then the 2520 i am demoing a 2520 with a front end loader i use all my attachments i have for my 4100 jd i mow 7 acers here and do it in about 4 hrs i have a finish mower plust i do lawns on the side which are also big this 2520 would be very good in tilling because i do food plots and gardens too which don't take realy all that long . again it goes on personal preferants how deep are you pockets and that i am going to trade mine soon which is a jd4100 and move up now that i can to more horse power .

Guys: I suppose such things happen but up to now I have been pulling pretty much all the gravel a 7' box blade will carry with no problems. Last week the city was digging in some water lines and partially unearthed a piece of old concrete sewer (about 16" x 4' filled with mud) I didn't see that literally stopped me in my tracks.
Thankfully, no ill effects. That 4720 (with Loadmatch) has great strength for its size but I still need 30 more hp and 3,000 more pounds to handle a semi tractor in a worst case scenario.

Frank, our local weather guys are saying to be ready for a hot dry summer when it gets here. It's tough for them as they normally can't predict weather more then 48 hours acurately here do to the contours. So far we have had a relatively dry spring which is good for getting crops in.

They are used for grapples as Murf suggested as well as four in one buckets, and if you choose to have a snow plow on the front for hydraulic angle. On some machines we use them for front mounted post hole auger drives.

Not familiar with that model, but did you bleed also at the fuel filter? Overheating and stalling suggests testing for a bad head gasket.
