Thanks, I am at work today, Firefighter in Washington DC, we work 24 hours, I will try you suggesstion. I only have a roto-tiller PTO driven on the rear. When I lift the unit in the air and engage the pto the blades spin, when I lower to ground the stop along with the pto shaft. thansk

Frank, forgive, I live near a resort area and this is Harley time, it will soon be the other type and younger I can do anything males to show up. Telling you that so you will understand...get you a full size four door truck and put a small side car on it for your wife. Ok, I have had my good belly roll. :)

If there are no worthy dealerships there, sure would affect my attitude on buying a tractor, a machine which will require service and parts. Getting info over the internet can be good and even great. But it is a great place for preditators of all types. If you look here you will find it offered many times a lot of which tractor brand is right for you depends on the local dealership. kt

I think I have your problem solved! I just got a 250 and it did the same thing. Hand pump and prime the system, starts, runs for a while quits. After the primary filter and before the lift pump on the injector pump I cut the line and put in an electric 12volt fuel pump. Now all my fuel air leaks show wet and the faulty lift pump (that was the villan) gets a boost. To test this I unhooked the pump and the engine quit. I think your problem is the lift pump. I don't know what the cost of a new one is but I suspect my electric pump is cheaper and has many advantages.

Can someone tell me how to replace the seals at each end of the tubes that contain the pushrods. I have a bad leak at the top and bottom of one pushrod tube on the rear cylinder. For some unknow reason the last person in put hose clamps on each end of the tubes in an attempt to perhaps hold the tubes up against the seals? The worst leak is the upper seal. <br>
Sure would like to know how much I have to take apart to replace them. I hope it's just the rocker cover, rocker shaft and rockers and not the whole head on that cylinder. <br>

The seals look brittle, I guess the heat beats them up good. <br>

You bought it from a private seller, right Mark? Was there anything in writing about its condition?

Being briefly submerged shouldn't hurt an engine, so that might be a good bet.

Know two local dealership who recommends the Perfecta brand and one does not sell it.

One of the advantages in tractors and implements is the ability to use about any 3 point hitch tractor or implement with any other as long as you remain with the same category. No idea on Cat 3 (largest I know of) but a fair Cat 1 and Cat 2 will also work together. Often if you have a Cat 1 implement you can use special bushings (low price and all tractor parts or dealerships have them) on those lift pins with a Cat 2 tractor and if you have Cat 2 implements there is no way to use in on a Cat 1 tractor unless you change the lift pins. There are bolt on lift pins made to change the connection pin from Cat 1 to Cat 2 and the other way also. It is a pain to have implements that are used with two different Cat tractors. kt

Mine has a 417 loader on it (see my photos) and believe a 476 also fit it. I believe Woods built all of them for Cadet. You may be able to verify this through Woods or a Cadet dealer.

Make a list of what you'll use the rig for. You don't need the hoe or that much power just for setting posts. If you won't be mowing lawns, you'll want ag-tread tires.

You can get attachments as you need them, but you make a better deal if you know what you want all at once. The exceptions are the loader and the hoe, which you'd be better off getting already on the tractor (whether new or used).

If buying used, either get an owners manual with it or a good walk-through on maintenance and service.

It should be around where the regular oil filter is. Can you tell me what HP or CC your JD is. I might be able to look up the kawaski diagrams to see where the plate may be located. or it could be similar to a kawi mule.

I have a L3300. I replaced the engine. <br>
When i re-assembled, the Front wheel drive(FWD) did not work.<br>
I believe the coupler that is located inside the trans came disconnected and possibly fell off inside the tranny. Is there any tricks to re-installing the coupler without doing a major split job? Also, would it be possible and how dificult would it be to go through the side plate where all the GST componets are located?<br>
The service book makes it look like removing the plate is easy, where as the kubota dealer said it may be a mess.<br>

Dean,

I'm not sure about your particular tractor, but the steering valve on my Kubota is located directly below the dash, on the floorboard of the tractor......directly behind the steering column panel.

Remove the engine side panels. See if you can figure out where your steering wheel shaft goes. If you can't see it with the side panels removed, you may have to remove the dash panel and the knee cover, just below the steering wheel.....provided, of course, you have one. Most tractors do. Your steering wheel shaft should go straight down to the steering valve.

I'm assuming that all of your other hydraulics are functioning properly. If so, then your problem is likely a mechanical connection on the steering valve.

If your other hydraulics aren't functioning, then you may have a problem common to both systems, such as low hydraulic fluid, a plugged filter or screen -- or possibly a faulty hydraulic pump.

Let's not jump to the worst case scenario just yet. Most of these problems are fairly easy to resolve. Always start with the simple stuff.

We also used a sleeve post driver in my younger years, that's how everyone did it. Also drove lots of wellpoints that way.

That's how I got a 54" chest and 18 1/2" neck. It is good arobic excercise and you will live longer and heathier.

I was able to go right to my johndeere dealer and told him what i needed for that machine and he found them and had them next day if you have any trouble I may have the package mine came in i will have to check to see if i can get the part number off of it good luck.

You may wish to visit Kubota's web site on the model. They do a good job showing the time frame each model was built and what the letters stand for. Is it possible the hood has been repainted or decals replaced or such. But it sure would seem easy to tell if it were two wheel drive or four wheel drive. kt

It seems whstein's comments were missed slightly.

He is talking about adding an extra function (circuit) to his FEL control valve, NOT a rear remote.

It would be helpful for little other than a grapple. That is really only useful for things like loading and carrying bulky items like firewood or brush.

It would also be useful for controlling a snowplow on the FEL in place of the bucket, but since you are talking about a BX24 and you seem to live in an area where that is not likely a priority, IMHO you can safely pass on it.

It's all good to go. I had the tire plugged weeks ago and it's been doing fine. Didn't have it tubed at that time, but it's good. The stem isn't an issue turns out. Took the day off Friday and did some major clay diggin'/boxbladin' & backfilling of the front of the house to cut a slight rainwater seepage into the basement, and mowed a bunch of grass. Kubota makes a great machine. So happy with it. Think I'm approaching 20 hours on the engine in just over two months ownership! Mike in NC
