My brothers and I are volunteer Sextants for our church cemetery. (I think I am one of the few who get to mow their own grave site.) We layout out the plots for burial and dig and pour the foundations for the headstones. We don't make or sell the
stones but deal with the companies that make and set them.
You can go as little as $300 for a bronze plaque that is embedded in the foundation to many thousands for a large elaborate one. It is up to you and your budget.
As far as keeping the family peace after you go horizontal (inside joke) it is best to make all of those decisions prior to needing to. The "happiest" funerals I have seen are the ones where we deal directly with the person whom we are burying before they die.

I asked a question on another site about oil viscosity contributing to an engine running warm and some suggested adding STP to my engine oil. My tractor is older and has a comfirmed low compression problem. It was in responce to this that someone also said to add to Hydrolic Fluid. Think I will wait on that.

Dennis, you got it- it's a brand new tractor so shouldn't be a rust issue. I'll mess around with this this weekend (after I've mowed with hopefully still good air in the tire). Might be a fix it in the barn sort of scenario. The center floor of the barn where I keep the tractor is concrete, so I can jack it up there safely if I need to. I took the wheel off last week to have the tire plugged in town, but that's a last resort (having it professionally restemmed) if these thoughts don't work in the meantime.I used my hydraulic jack under the front edge of the tractor frame (just behind the FEL grill guard) and jackstands and it worked well.

How long can one safely use the FEL to lift the front (not going underneatht the tractor for any reason, obviously) before the bucket/hydro could sag/lower the tractor some?

Ask the local dealorship whether my M4050 had a Hydrolic screen and she did not know what I was talking about. Have ordered the manuals but they are not in yet. Can someone tell if and where it might be.

There are two different sizes that are involved here.

First, the size of the rim, this is the biggie, if the rim doesn't work, the game's over, period.

Secondly, the tires, but more importantly is the ratio between the front & rear tires. Without doing the math, I'd bet the ratio is just fine since it's from a 'sister' machine that would have similar gearing.

That said, if you put larger or smaller tires on the tractor doesn't matter a hill of beans as long as you change by the same amount on both the front & back tires.

As an example, we run huge turf tires on the tractors that keep our turf fields cut, they sort of look like 'monster trucks' except they're tractors. The only impact is that there is nowhere near the low end power as it had on the factory tires, but on the other hand they will go about 40 mph wide open.

The only real limits you have are the tires rubbing or something like that, past that, go to town.

Just out of curiosity, how much are they looking to get for the 4 tires & rims?

Many bearings are industry standard and easy to match if you have the old bearing with a readable number on it. I suspect some other company may have tines that will work on your tiller also, take one with least amount of wear to a local tractor dealership until you find a shop who has them or who can order. kt

Thanks KT, I received other comments on this (possible trash preventing it from seating all the way) and this explains it well. I see what you (and others) mean. I will try to check for this. Might be a simple fix. If not, I'm assuming I can get this weekend's mowing done with this stem, and then have it restemmed professionally if it comes to that.

Depending on how fast the FEL is settling down it is more likely that there is a seal leaking in either the FEL lift cylinders or the valve itself.

Any place that does farm equipment service or a hydraulics shop can reseal it for you, or if you're reasonably handy you can do it yourself, it's dead easy to do with a minimum of tools.

I bought a TC30 3 years ago, and have had no problems at all. I change the oil, filters, and do the PM's as scheduled. I liked the TC30 because you can work on it yourself easily, and it does not have all the bells and whistles that can break down, since I did not need them. I went with the NH bacause I got the best service before the sale from the local dealer. After trying several dealers, they just seemed to want to work with me the best. Your relationship with your dealer is just as important as the brand that you buy.

I love the BX' series but I would think you are over the edge on this one. I'd look at the new B series or go into a two machine operation.

One part that I worry about is the fans for the transmission that get ruined on trash like sticks. The full B series doesn't use the fans.

Depending on the acrerage and the way you choose to deal with it how much time do you have alloted for mowing?

My BX2350 has a dial for setting mower height, it has a position called "Top" and then several positions down from that from "4" down to "1" (1 being shortest cut). <br>

At the dealer, and on delivery, my mower dial would go into "Top" (for locking the deck in a high position while using the 3 point hitch hydraulicsm which as you know also run the mower lift). But now I'm not able to get the dial turned past 4 (to Top) for the life of me. I mean, I'm really turning it, or trying, with alot of force and it won't budge.<br>

Also, is 4 that much lower whereby, if Top is broken, I can't still lock the deck in 4 for most non-MMM applications? I was using the loader last weekend and lowered the tiller on the 3pnt pretty low, and yet the deck stayed up pretty high...locked at 4 position.<br>
But does anyone know how much higher than "4" the Top position locks the deck? Is it really worth it, if the knob is broken for Top postion, to get it fixed?<br>

It will be strong enough for a size-matched loader, but if it's not 4WD it won't always handle well with the front weighted down.

Attachments go on and off tractors easily, but a FEL is the exception. On the other hand, it's an extremely useful attachment.

I have been asked to create a design for my brothers Gator HPX 4x4. The only problem is he lives in Montana and I live in Texas. His wife is not very tape measure literate. I have looked around on the net and have come up empty. Can someone that has one of these type of vehicles please measure the decal area on the bed. I need the length x width of the stripe down the bed along with the width & length on the name Gator, John Deere, & the little Gator decal. If it is not to much of a problem, can someone measure the hood area aswell? All she sent me were pictures.
