JD...I have hardly any side to side movement on the bars on the 3pt hitch. The bars do have some twistable bolts that attach to the lift arms down to the lift arms for the mowing deck. I think this is what you are missing.

Just a bit of history on the driveway to the house here at the farm. We built the house ten years ago in an open field, no driveway of any kind. there were no drainage issues to get water away from the drive so with no prior grading we put a layer of two inch washed limerock about six inches thick, then on top a layer of one inch washed rock. We drove on just that for a year or so till it settled. Since that I have two tandems of one inch "Roadstone" we call it here meaning the fines are left in with the rock spread about every other spring, that gives me a new layer about four to five inches thick. It just seems to be getting more solid every year. right now the drive is about 12-14 inches above the lawn along either side of it. That seems to be high enough that very little snow gets on the drive, it mostly just blows across it. Frank.

Saturday was as nice as it gets around here so I reseeded with Kentucky Bluegrass with my little John Deere areiatior seeder combo. The fertilizer shipment hasn't got to the elevator yet so I'll put that on later. I never was real happy with the little plastic lawn roller we had so I bought a bigger steel drum model made by Agri-Fab, it weighs about half a ton when loaded with water. The 345 mower seemed a bit unsafe going down hill so I used the Gator, it handled it nicely. The new heavier roller sure did a nice job, guess I should have had it long ago. Frank.

I too am trying to make that decision. A friend has a Walenstein BX62 and is very happy with it. However, the Liberty 6 inch model seems very attractive at K$2 but I can't find any reviews of the Liberty chippers besides what Liberty itself puts out....suspicious?

Any comments on the Liberty chippers would be welcome.

Alright, finally, cylinder ring replaced. The old one was shot. Lifts fine, still have the leak down. When the key is turned off but the tractor still running, the lift falls. Started looking at electric over hydaulic solenoids and now the three point hitch doesn't leak down, it falls down. Frustrated. Good ideas?

The only way the arm well hit the other pins if the top link would brake or if you have a real long top link. If it does brake I don't know if you could go high enough for them to hit? I would of put the cat. 2 on the outside and the cat 1 facing in. I put two cat. 1 on mine because I have a B7800 and L4240. The B7800 wouldn't lift it high enough I did drill another hole down for the top link about 2" I Forgot that in my frist post.

these breaks are cable operated and they are adjusted with a screw on back of caliper that pulls piston into bore my brother put them on he said he took the caliper bolts lose and took it appart to get them over the disk so I may try that to marrow any more ideas would be great thanks a lot. Joe

You should probably check the preasure in your system as you might be shocked with what you read on the guage??? I have the CX loader on my JD and it was lazy when you curled it down to its full limit and I was suspicous it was low on preasure as it would bearly push the tractor backwards if you wanted to use it to get out from being stuck. I had a JD mechanics check it out while they were here doing a service update a month ago and guess what the preasure was off 350lbs ! It is soposed to be 2150lbs and it was right at 1800. With presure set correctly it will now pick the backend up with both rears loaded with rimguard. I have no idea if yours has an adjustable relief valve or not.[JD is using some fixed preasure valves and they DONT always work correctly]???? Its a way to save money and would probably be fine if they were always calibrated correctly but in my case the valve was faulty!
