I have an SD1800 and would like to buy a manual for it. How would a person go about buying one?

Something's not right about that statement; I've never heard of any "SAE 90 hydraulic fluid". Of course, the Chinese manuals are known to lose a lot in translation. You think maybe it means SAE90 GEAR OIL ?

I'm curious why you drained hydraulic fluid though - does that mean you have an engine-driven hydraulic pump? Both mine have PTO pumps - meaning no hydraulic lines running for and aft. And 15 qts seems like a lot of hydraulic fluid, or do you have a loader? I forget.

So I'm still not sure if your tractor has a separate hydraulic sump, or if the hydraulics share fluid with the transmission and differential. To help resolve that, look behind/beneath the seat and see if you can find a fill plug and/or fill vent. If so, that suggests you fill the hydraulic sump (lifter box) separately from the trann/diff.

Decide whether to repair in the field or get it to your shop or garage. If the latter, either have it towed, or add fluid and hope the leak is gradual.<br>

Then, as they'd do at the dealership, start it and look for the leak. Might have to rev up and load it. If the leak is not obvious, thoroughly protect yourself from a hidden invisible high-pressure spray that can seriously injure. Here are the tricks.<br>

Newspaper underneath to show drips. Paper towels along the hoses to show pinhole leaks. In the dark, a flashlight to show a fine spray. <br>

Sometimes the leak (usually in a chafed hose) occurs only when an implement is moved in a certain way, so you operate thoughout the range of movements while a helper watches.

Yes....your location in the country does make a difference. Some tractor models move off of the dealer lots fairly rapidly in certain areas of the country.

The Kubota B7800 is one of the more popular models. It is in high demand. You can't expect to get a great deal on any tractor that has a lot of potential buyers.

Tractorhouse.com shows listings for several Kubota B7800s. You might want to spend some time shopping around the site in order to compare dealer prices.

tractorhouse is a great place to compare prices. However, as I discovered, some of the dealers are actually willing to deal. I saved nearly 4000 dollars off of the listed price, by simply paying a visit to my nearest dealer.

Let me see if I can help.

Position yourself at the rear of the mower deck. The discharge chute will be on your right. Provided, of course, that you have a right side discharge deck.

Keep in mind that all blades will be rotating clockwise, as viewed from above.

Starting with the pulley to the far left......furthest from the discharge chute.........

The belt passes around the outside edge of the left pulley, then over the top and to the right of the center pulley.

After going over the top and then to the right of the center pulley, the belt then passes to the left side and then under the tensioning pulley.

From the tensioning pulley, the belt then goes to the furthest pulley to the right, passing over it and around to the rear of the right pulley.

The belt travels in a straight line along the entire rear edge of the mower deck.

Yup. Even though that alone is not conclusive, it does suggest head gasket. I don't suppose that thing has a temperature gauge? Because another symptom would be that it runs warmer that usual.<br>

I've been dreaming a bit about trading our 345 Deere for a used four wheel steer. I test drove one several years ago at a Deere dealership during their spring open house and I really liked it. I know they have been around for quite a while so they should be time tested by now. Any opinions pro or con would be appreciated. Frank.

I am understanding how PB works and how I am going to hook up rear ports. The valve for my FEL just has a "in" port and "out" port. Comes from the hyd. block to the "in" and "out" goes back to the block and on to the 3pt. The part I don't understand is why it doesn't have a 3rd "out or exhaust" that is the low pressure return since the 3pt looks to be in series after the FEL valve?

Hi All,

Just thought I'd toss in 1 more follow up.

Went into the ditch 2 weeks ago. Got flustered, wasn't too far in and instead of pushing myself out with the loader decided to bull my way thru. Well, that didn't work and I got completely stuck right at the bottom of the ditch.
Had to wait till the next day when a neighbour with a large tractor could pull me out. Probably wouldn't have happened with more weight on the back and more experience but what the hey. Snow almost gone so was out back on it today and what a little workhorse. Just love it.
By the way, I got it from Wellington Implement in Ohio and they were really great to deal with and really reasonable.
Tractor, only 200 hrs, ( with a loader ) cost $6500 and they completely serviced with new filtersfluids before it was shipped out. Since was going out of State, there was no taxes but also since it was being shipped to Canada, I had to arrange my own shipping.

If I could find another 1 at that price would buy it in a minute.

Anyways, just wanted to share my dealer experiences and my most recent fun.

You did the right thing taking it to a dealer. You want someone familiar with the Kubota Hydraulics & The right tools working on this.

I looked up the cost of the Kubota HYD Pressure Test Kit and it has a Dealer Cost Of $800.00

L-Series, Hydraulic Pressure test kit. This is a kit for hydraulic testing for L-Series Tractors. It contains 3 gauage and serval different fitting for testing presures on Kubota equipment. The fittings can also be used with flow meters to flow rate a hydraulic system. The kit comes with a case to contain and maintain the fitings and gauages.

Denver; If it is a gaoline engine use John Deere Turf Guard, comes in quart bottles. If it is a diesel then call the Deere dealer for his advice. Some had engine oil filters, some didn't, check to be sure. Frank.

EW, right now be glad you are not on the coast. Work is slow for some very much. But there are those who are still busy. Seems the smaller companies are busier than the bigger ones. Which I guess means the smaller jobs are going on but not the bigger ones. kt

I don't know if the seals are covered under warranty. I'm just not sure what Kubota covers under its warranty programs.

I've never owned anything with a warranty, including vehicles. Since there aren't any service centers anywhere near me, a warranty does me no good.

From the looks of things, I'd say that your seals are probably fine. More than likely, they suffer from a lack of use. Your tractor is three years old, but only has 100 hours on it. In most cases, the lack of use will cause a seal to dry out and begin to leak.

As a former soldier, I was assigned to the task of exercising our vehicles every month. Every truck had to be serviced....oil checked, air pressures, etc....and then started and driven at least 20 miles each month. We did this to prevent the seals from drying out.

You may need to replace your seals this time, but to prevent this problem from happening to you again in the future, I highly recommend that you use the tractor more often, even if you just run up and down the driveway a few times each month.
