Pillage; I wasn't sure when I first responded to your post, but Art has cleared up the point of a subframe hoe not being produced for your tractor. If you have the time to look around it might be worth your time to visit a dealer who has a later model tractor with a subframe hoe mounted on it for display. I have not watched a Kubota subframe hoe being mounted or dismounted from the tractor, but I have put my Deere hoe on and off dozens of times. Both Kubota and Deere use in principle the same basic design for attaching the hoe unit to the subframe. Once the subframe is on the tractor, it is a less than ten minute job without any heavy lifting to mount or dismount the hoe. Frank.

Tractor: 1974 JD2630. 400+hrs on engine rebuild and paint job.<br>

Problems: Hooked-up brushcutter and placed tranny in park at lowest idle. Heard a "snap" (thought from brushcutter) and lost all hyd. power (loader, 3pt, steering impacted). <br>

Known so far: Passes standby pressure check at rear hyd. outlet, 8+GPM from Transmission hyd. pump, Main hyd. pump (at nose of tractor) passes pressure check and looks fine on tear down.<br>

Not know so far: Root cause! Check valve? Tranny hyd. pump?? If anyone has advice, I would appreciate it. This old girl has never let me down till now and want to get her going again. Thanks.

Missed seeing your post Art and Frank's last one. Subsoiling here seems to be a lost tool for most. Quick disc job and gone. I talked with a couple of very experienced farmers a few years ago and both told of advantages to subsoiling. Had read where in parts of the country they subsoiled in the fall of the year to retain what rain they go and did so this year. Really glad for we have had some very good rains and very little has run off and for the last few days have water sitting on part of it. The subsoiling did a second job, located stumps to be removed.

check your suction filter/fluid/and all quick conects/if you have opencenter hyds.system should bleed it self.might have blow packing in lift cylinder/control lever might need adjusting.could be a couple of other things.let me do some checking.hope you did not blow your pump.might have trash in circut relief valve.

Independent multi stage wet clutch is my favorite for long life and lack of aggrivation. This is a system taht can be engaged anytime without disengaging the main clutch. The live continous is old school and normally is run with the foot clutch execpt for a few of the larger old design farm tractors still being marketed today.

sounds like your timmer or relay is bad.unless its very cold where you are.most timers and relays are undre dash.or on the fire wall

You might also question the wheel offset, if welded this is especially important.

I used a napa laser pointer heat checker on the upper radiator hose to get my readings. I find I get a lot of use out of it and it isn't messey and is quite accurate for different testing.

It is far more important to know that the heat is more consistant while working with it then to have a perfectly centered gauge. I like using pin striping tape to mark gauges using different colors to define ranges.

Thats what I'm thinking as well, hold hits and stands by, pull activates with start and lets go. For the life of me I can't find a short but there has to be, keyswitch works properly, relays are not stuck. Can't get back to the machine till next weekend, thanks Harvey.

Ajp2927,

Your disconnect should be grounded at the box. The enclosure should serve as the ground connection. If you were to open the disconnect box, you'd likely find a ground wire attached to a ground terminal inside the case. This ground wire should be used when attaching your well pump to ground.

There may be two ground terminals inside your disconnect. One should be used by the power supply wire coming from the breaker box. The second ground screw should be attached to the power wire heading to your well pump.

You should check to be sure that your disconnect box is grounded back to the main circuit breaker box.

In any case, I wouldn't attempt to ground the pump using a copper grounding rod.

Hetric; Always glad to visit with a fellow woodworker, or anyone else for that matter. Yes we have ninety percent of the new shop up and running and did keep all the big three phase equipment by instaling a ten hp. rotary phase converter to power the machines of 8 hp. or less and use a 45kw PTO generator to power the machines with 10+ hp motors. There is no three phase service where we live now. I know that sounds like a pain in the butt type deal to start a tractor to operate a machine, and it kinda is, but I only use the big machines maybe once a week or less and run a "Batch' so to speak thru when I have them up and running. I don't have the maxhine shop side of the building wired up yet and don't have the freight elevator completed yet, it seems I've spent most of the winter plowing snow, the most snow we have had in years here. Since I'm not in a "Production Mode" anymore I've somewhat lost touch with how the housing and remodeling market is going here, but all the contractors I know locally are working straight thru the winter and have plenty lined up for spring. We were always fortunate to never have ran out of work in 30+ years in business. We weren't into "carpentry" so to speak, but did probably 80% custom one off type furniture production and the reat of the time did produce kitchen cabinets on a custom order basis only. I won't be the richest man in the Cemetary because of running a furniture business, but wouldn't trade all the good friends I made both as employees and customers and the good work times I had for all the Cadillac's you could park on fourty acres. I have a Suzuki King Quad F 350 [2000] that I have abused for many a year :-) . Thing is like a small tank & aside from one complaint I have with the CV boots, I am satisfied with this 4 wheeler. Use it to skid timber, winch downfalls, ride my trails & numerous other routine chores.
