I have an Argo Bigfoot,it is a machine that can take me,wife and 2 kids anywhere. I use it weekly to haul firewood and trail maintenance,I have never had a problem with this machine.Anyone else own a 6x6/

Joel, were not really interested in having it back, see what you can do about sending it SOUTH east when you're finished with it. ;)

Our friends in south could probably do with some cool air to reduce their A/C bills anyways. :)

After running Steiner for the last 5 years(410 and 415) I am now upgrading to the Ventrac 4131.It is to be delivered monday,and will make reviews after I have a few hrs. on tractor.I bought this machine new and havent even drove a Ventrac(have reviewed all info I could find though). I think the main reason I switched is the comfort factor.Contol placement looks superior to the Steiner.I loved both Steiners, but was wore out after mowing and my sholder would hurt from holding the hydro lever. Anybody think I made a mistake?Let me know what you think of Ventrac. Eddie

First off, the basics, the 3pth falling isn't due to a loose control lever vibrating into the down position is it?

This is more common a problem than you'd believe, and it's easily fixed.

If it is a seal problem, there are ways to fix it, but all of them involve replacing the offending seal, be it in the valve or cylinder.

Some of these machines have access ports that allow repair without complete dissassembly.

As I said before, I'm certainly NOT an expert on Shibauras, but we do have a couple of guys who know they're way around them, Greg G. comes to mind right off the top. Maybe he'll jump in on this thread and offer his advice.

Yep. Built snowmen. Driven on snow covered roads. Missed school due to snow. Our area had show on History Channel about the major snow storm of Dec, 1999 (about 3 months after Hurrican Hugo) not sure right off but like 20 inches. Why we had about 3 inches 3 or 4 winters ago.

Most driving on snow covered roads I will admit were visiting family in Ohio. Fun. Most fun was it was only for a few days and I came home. kt

leejohn, you may find it benefical to place a narrow piece of tape on your temp guage when it is at what you know to be normal operating temp if a little movement in the guage is really a large temp rise. That way, you will not have to rely on memory for the exact location on the guage. kt

I bought the same tractor 3 years ago [brand new] with frontloader & 60" mowing deck for $11,000.00 This is a very decent tractor & I have steep property that htis tractor handles without a problem. I recently added a Woods BH & still mow with the FL & BH attached.

While I'm happy with my Caddigger, and was glad to have the direction given by the plans (especially with the hydraulics...I learned a lot), the marketing is puzzling. I can only assume the CadPlans guy has a day job and makes a few bucks on the side with the MetKit and CadPlans businesses. For a small business, his customer service isn't great.

Good luck with your own design. I can't wait to see pics when you have it done.

Still suffering with a cold or allergies or something. I've been sick more since we had the baby than I have been all the years leading up to it. I guess the little guy is bringing the stuff home; but he never gets sick.

Joel, just stumbled across this.

I have used box blade to pull small stumps, push logs into piles, pull dirt around, cut down high spots and such. For some things really prefer a scrape blade. How you can roll dirt or bed it with a box blade as you can with a scrape blade that has rotation and angle adjustments is beyond me. There are some lighter weight blades that have an ajustment that allows you to shift the blade to a side. This may be an option for you.

Joel, you might could have another set of mounts added to your box blade so you can mount it offset to fully cover one set of tires, for me would be the right tires. With your ability to find odd items you might come up with a set up that would allow you to slide the box blade to either side giving you more flexibility without using a wider blade. However, it would try to pull your tractor sideways.kt

doing a rehab on friends gator(6x4 kaw water cooled) and just installed new radiotor fan,bled system,and when testing fan runs all the time.key off or on.The last guy who worked on it changed the harness leads running from old fan,have no Idea what is correct wiring .right now I have blue from fan to black and black from fan to red.It works either way,but should the fan draw air over radiator or blow it form in out? any ideas on how to check if the fan relay switch in the thermo house is bad? can it be probed? any help appreciated

You can probably look around for other parts. My experience is: there may be other sources out there and I have tried them in the end it is simpler to deal with local dealer than trying to return parts that won't work to ebay or where ever. It's a lot easier to return to dealer. It always seems like each paint scheme has a quirk for each part no matter how generic.

I'd opt for factory parts.

If every blower that hit a stone then fell apart, there would be no working blowers! And if you DID hit something with that new blower other than snow, there would a mark or scratch on whatever part it hit.

JD makes a mighty fine tractor, but they don't make their own blowers, and this time they may have put too much trust in the supplier. I'd take the position with the dealer that he's gone beyond the call of duty, and you will write to Deere about how good he's been in fixing their mistakes, and tell him he should demand that Deere pays for his mechanic's time.

Just to clarify, the loader and power steering are NOT factory options, these are after market implements.

1) As far as I know, the loader system does NOT have a filter.

2) The PAS reservoir does have a filter in the bottom, and is the tank under the hood, referred to in the manual as the hydraulic tank.

3) The 3-pt is feed by the PAS or hydraulic tank under the hood, as is the power steering. The only thing on the loader system should be the loader it's self.

The power steering will tie into the PAS (or tractor hydraulic system) right near the 3-pt lever. You can follow the hoses down from the steering wheel, and see where there is a Tee in the line going into the valve that the 3-pt lever mounts on.
