I prefer the new holland. Keep in mind the dealer does make the biggest difference. My dealership sells Kubota and New Holland and we get all the service work from the neighboring kubota dealer because they don't have a service department. All tractors break, no matter the color, so having a good service department is what matters most.

I bought a 2130 back in 2000. On mine the reverse linkage bumps a switch to turn off the mowerdeck. All I did was remove the switch from its bracket. You have to leave it connected or else the mower won't turn on. Hope this helps.

Talking on the multi viscosity, many older designed tractors owners manuals don't talk about multi viscosity for two reasons. The first is the fact that they didn't have it when the book was printed and the second one, there are many that weren't built with tolerences for a multi weight oil! That comes from a oil company's engineer! With a mechanical pressure gauge you can actually watch the oil pressure get lower with the break down of the viscosity enhancers under hard use. The lowest weight listed of a multi weight oil is the base weight of the oil. The higher weight is reached by additives meant to thicken the oil.

One again I'll say that a tractor manufacturer oil will normally be a higher quality then a truck or car oil. I do know that some ag companies do have some lower priced oil the same as the shell rotella line. Shell also hass higher grades that are better and more comparable to the higher grades oils. Cars run at 30% load and RPM, trucks at 60% and tractors are normally at 90%load and rpm.

For most of central NY knowing that about two years ago we had temps in the -20's for several weeks I recommend a ten weight base oil. For most engines I will say to use the multi weight during the winter but under hard use of summer go to a fixed weight.

Just got a JD650 and have a couple of questions. Where can I get the roll gard and canope? The person that sold it to me said it had a 30 HP engine. Looking at the net I see every thing form 18 to 30 How do I find out for sure what the HP of mine is?<br>

Dennis, not sure how it would work with your situation, but a friend of mine recently had a similar problem, except in his case it wasn't a fussy 'head of domestic affairs', his wife suffers from migraines and the combination of a spinning fan and lights is not a good one, as you mentioned already.

His solution was to build a wooden structure that looks like a beam up to the ceiling in the 2 corners that have the highest ceilings. They are just oak veneer (to match the rest of his woodwork) plywood boxes and are hollow. At the bottom of each is a large air register facing out in two directions, and at the top a large air inlet, like a cold air return vent. Suspended inside each box beam is a large capacity (variable speed) blower fan that forces air out the bottom vents, the only place this air can come from is the inlet at the top of each 'beam'. The blowers are connected to a thermostat that automatically turns them on & off based on the difference in temperature between ceiling and floor levels.

He said it seems to be working quite nicely and they are very quiet, even when running on high.

He figures they were less expensive than (in his case) running new wiring through a large existing cathedral ceiling with no attic above, and then adding all the framing to hold the weight of a ceiling fan.

Yes, I had read that the 3 pt hitch would not take heavy pushing- thanks for the warning! I don't plan to do much of that with it for that reason, just using it to pull snow away from the garage and to spread out and incorporate manure if we ever thaw out! Our wheel weights weren't in when we picked up the tractor, so it's going back shortly for those- I'll ask then about the possibility of reversing the wheels... again, thank you guys so much!

thanks for the input, I told him I was consulting the experts, and copied and pasted this tread to the other site thread so I would not leave out anyones advise,

fall a year ago My B7100 that had been getting harder to near impossible to start started blowing bad (spewing) while I was doing some blading on the driveway in hot weather, since It was a rental before I owned it, and I had no idea how many hours was on it, I immediately went to the rebuild, man it needed it, now it runs like a champ.

Thanks againg, will let everyone know if I hear how he resolves the situation.

I'd go with Onan or Honda if I was purchasing today. Briggs & Stratton has let the quality slip in the past few years. 25 years ago, I would say B&S is good as it gets, but not today. I have an Onan in my motorhome, it is a SOB to work on, not because of the design, but because of the location of where the manufactor decided to put it! Parts are higher than B&S but worth it.

Hmm Bill I see what you mean, exactly the design I suggested and someone else had done, he was selling as a Upgrade or as the SuperBoom kit. So why did he not tell me this on the phone last night or at least offer to upgrade my Plans for a nominal fee?? <br>
I'll do the design change in ACAD and see if any boom length measurements need changed. I'm seeing all the new backhoes now have the curve or bend in the main boom. BG in Iowa<br>

Edited: I did my drawing and checked in AutoCAD LT, it takes .0325% more tubing in the main boom to do this, and this by my scale mock up equals about 20% reach when it gets closer to the tractor. Not moving the tractor as much and the full depth of the dipper end. BG

Oh, two good penetrating oils that I like are CRC's BreakFree and a really impressive one called PB Blaster. For penetrating oils, go with one of them. WD-40 attracts water, and has probably caused more rust than all other lubricants combined.

You might try the link below. Many Mitsubishi tractor manuals available, and probably some that aren't listed. Your tractor is listed, but it doesn't show an operator's manual. I'll bet they have one, however.

Thanks for the replies, there are no cables just open linkage. 15 to 20 degrees is considered cold here. I have the sense that it is not the linkage that is dragging, it seems free enough. I think the place to start is the springs as suggested, maybe the original springs are just tired.
