As I get more into my tractor and implements/ attachments, I was thinking about getting a welder. I have been researching Millers' 252 mig welder. However at nearly $1900 that is a big nut to crack. I do want a welder that can weld up to 1/2" and produce good looking welds (as a beginner weldor a mig would have the quickest and easiest learning curve versus TIG or arc). I have found a used Miller Thunderbolt arc welder (AC & DC welder)for under $300, but I am not too sure if I want to go the arc welder route. It may be all that I need but this is my dilemma. I would like to hear from some others with regards to my quest.<br>

I am happy that you go such good mileage. My 2005 silverado 1500 with the 4.8 engine has only adveraged 14 MPG since new. I hear a lot of persons talk about poor mileage in cold weather, it has to be the gasoline.

This is a very well done film, one to watch without your spouse. One to watch when you have time to recover before you have to sleep.<br>

I am a big fan of Cormac McCarthy whose novel the film is based on. I really liked "Suttree" and "All the Pretty Horses", these were great books, they were hard, but No Country is very dark and disturbing, you want to stop watching it but you can't.<br>

The other points given to check far as pin wear, sprung or missing parts are good things to check. What model tractor is the subframe meant to fit that comes with the hoe? Mine is on a 4310, the subframe I have fits a 4300 thru 4410, but I'm sure that your 4600 will take a different one. I'm not aware of anything on the hoe its self that needs to be changed to go from one model tractor to the other, just the subrame. Last I knew you could still order a subframe for differet models thru a Deere dealer, but I'd check that first if you need a different one before I bought the hoe. Frank.

Sorry Jim, thought you might know the local dealers, the 2 biggest Kubota dealers in your area are Carriere Poirier Equipment Limited (in Alfred actually) and B & T MacFarlane (in Nepean).

There is also a smaller one in Perth called Hartington.

If you don't necessarily want a Kubota, there are several other very reputable dealers in your area.

If budget is a concern you can often get a mid-sized farm tractor that will do nearly everything you want for not a lot of money. They are often a very good 'starter' machine.

Jim, Joel gave you some sound info. there, you won't like dealing with snow using a light 2WD machine. Big farm tractors yes, but not the little stuff.

Not like you ever get any snow there in Ottawa right? ;)

You have a couple of choices:<br>

1) You can paste a link to a picture that is on the web in the link box when you post a message. You need to right click on the web image and get the URL of the image and copy and paste it in the TP link box.<br>

2)You can use your Tractorpoint Album to place pictures from your PC by browsing for images and uploading them.<br>
<br>
The link for doing 2) is in the "myProfile" menu item or you can use the link below. Your first picture is your "avatar" displayed with your posts.<br>
<br>
You then can use technique 1) to linkthat pix to a particular post<br>
<br>

The Direct TV HD dish placed on the outside of the house has four RG6 cables running to a connection block. You can then connect from one - four receivers to the dish at the connection block. Local channels (mine)are redundant (HD and Standard) My local channel HD broadcasts are in the 4.3 aspect ratio. This is a bummer. National programs are 16.9 aspect ratio. Watching local HD programs in 4.3 aspect ratio places the picture in the middle of the screen with black bars on each side. In other words if you have a 50" LCD instead of watching a program full screen you get to watch a miniture version in the middle of the screen. I think the FCC needs to step in and state HD is 16.9, not digitial signals broadcast in 4.3 aspect ratio.
