I wouldn't worry too much about the power factors. The main issue, in your case, is going to be the weight.

It's difficult to determine the weight on one of these things, unless you're good with fulcrums and levers. Using this method, the measurements won't be exact, but they'll turn out very close.

You simply need a 2"x12"x10' board -- a round 2" diameter pipe to be used as a fulcrum -- a solid concrete floor -- and a known amount of weight, such as a bag of cement (90 lbs).

When you move the bag of cement further from the fulcrum, it should eventually lift the tiller off the ground. Take a measurement of the distances the items are located from the fulcrum (balance point) and then perform the ratio figures.

If you placed the tiller one foot from the center of the pipe, and the balance was achieved when the bag of cement was 5 feet from the fulcrum, then you'll know that your tiller weighs ABOUT (5 x 90) 450 pounds.

It's not an exact figure, due to issues dealing with exact centers of the weights involved.....but it will get you close.

My grandfather used this method when loading building supplies onto a roof, with a forklift. As the foreman on the construction site, it was his responsibility to know that he and his men would not be endangering themselves by exceeding the design limitations of the structure.

You should have a dipstick on the rear of the tractor. It is above the pto shield to the left, I believe.

Nov, I checked everything over and changed fluids, cleaned air filter etc. I went to deer camp and parked truck for days on end. After deer season I noticed my MPG dropped to 15-16. About Dec.15 I gets a service engine light on, I read the code and its a p171 (I think,regaurdless I know it was a ) Lean fuel condition bank 1), I clear it out. A week later I get 2 codes bank on. Lean fuel condition bank 1 and bank 2. Light goes out later. Around the end of Dec. it warms enough for me to work on truck, I decide to replace a few things (not that they need it, I just wanted to spend money and thro it out the window) My plugs were a big dollar plug along with a big dollar wire. I left the wires and changed the hotter burning plug I had in there (bosh 4 prongers) to a real close OEM plug. I changed oil and filter and fuel filter. I then hit the jack pot (or thought I did anyway) When changing the air filter, it was filled with weed material from a mouse nest formed. The box was completely filled as thick as you could imagine!!! (buisy little basturds during deer season when my truck was parked for a week). I think I found it right? I cleard the service light and for three weeks, it never came on. This week the temperature fell AGAIN back to below zero and my light came back on! Bank 1 lean fuel condition! Also, I never!!! checked fuel usage right after I had found the nest and changed plugs. Now I check fuel (a real good test, drove my son back to college Sat,600 miles in -2 deg weather) I got 13 MPG. AND 13.4PG AND 14.12 MPG !!!!<br>
Thats the info. I was thinking about changing the 0/2 sensers (the front 2, not the back ones). and then maybe the MAF BUT the sensors are $65 eah and the MAF is $150!!!<br>
Any sugestions? Maybe a trip to the dealer would be cheaper????? Any help at all would be apreciated!!!<br>

If not, please tell us exactly what makes that such a good tractor. Be specific, compare it to other tractors you've owned. Five days of bush hogging blackberry is something that most any tractor can do. I've been bush hogging blackberry, and other woodby brush that is much tougher, for four years with my JD.<br>

In my opinion, it's likely that because so many failed of one brand it's possible that the coining tooling may have been new or sharpened and you got part of the first part of the run. If you think about it, there's a fine line of keeping the tab on with just an impression to keep it intact. When I was cleaning up hurricane Katrina Anheuser-Busch (sp) sent thousands of pallets of canned filtered water with their logo on them (presumably the same cans beer came in but painted white). The cans were so thin that you could literally open the tab simply by squeezing the can slightly.

Reminds me of a friend's mother who worked at the local Pepsi bottling plant as a line inspector. I didn't see it, but I heard about a collection she kept of everything imaginable that could be stuffed into a Pepsi bottle that she pulled off the line.

Hmmm. Makes me wanna go take a pee now :)

Big news: my dealer says there's only one hitch Cub Cadet provides for the 3205. It's a 3 point hitch, and they want $1100 for it. This make the one at Johnny Bucket look very attrative, pricewise.

So, wonder if anyone else makes a sleeve hitch.

He also said a number of other Cub Cadets are offered sleeve hitches by Cub Cadet; the 3206 is different.

Bialecki,

We can't burn #2 diesel in North Dakota during this time of year. #2 will gel up at these extremely low temperatures. Therefore, we're using #1 diesel.....at a cost of $3.99 per gallon.

Using #1 diesel is a double whammy. It burns hotter, but it also produces less power. Therefore, the fuel economy goes south real quick. Truckers are getting far fewer miles to the gallon, while paying 4 dollars per gallon for the fuel. OUCH!

Kerosene is running about 6 dollars per gallon.....and my Knipco heater holds ten gallons of it. I'm burning #1 diesel in it, but it still costs me 40 bucks each time I fill the thing.

Biodiesel is out of the question. That stuff gels up in October around here. Anti-gel additives will get us by only until about November.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Nearly half the Senate wants to allow people to carry guns into national parks and wildlife refuges. Forty-seven lawmakers signed a letter asking the interior secretary to lift restrictions that prevent citizens from carrying firearms onto lands managed by the National Park Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The National Park Service says the Reagan-era restrictions were put in place for public safety and to protect wildlife. A park official says before the rules were adopted, "people would go out and shoot wildlife." He says he's worried if people are packing heat in the nation's parks, it could lead to accidents. The lawmakers write in their letter that the current regulations "infringe on the rights of law-abiding gun owners" who want to take firearms on or across federal land. The office of the Interior secretary says officials are reviewing the letter.

Thanks to the both of you for the info. Actually, I have seen this arrangement for the slip clutch but didn't recognize it from the picture of the tiller or the description. Anyway, it clarifies this issue. What is actually missing is the part of the PTO shaft that hooks on to the tractor. This would mean that the slip clutch is there. Thanks for telling me about agri supply. Might call them if this deal with the tiller doesn't work out.

When dinner is done, she heads on into the living room and turns on the big box. She pretty much stays there unless she moves in and takes over the computer in the side room and plays her games and watches a 20".
When I do sit in front of a TV I have about ten to fifteen minutes before I fall asleep. That includes all but car or educational shows but I still might fall asleep during a commercial. I have enough trouble finding the time to live my life much less watch someone elses.

I have looked at just about every other competitor in this range, and this tractor give you the best bang for your buck, I have made my now ready to make the purchase. The only reason why the price is so competitive, Cub Cadet is staying business smart, by keeping their price point down until they get established in this competitive market segment. I'm sure it'll be a hit.
