I've had a DF254 with a DF loader for almost 2 years and over 200 hours and I think is one of my best investments. I destroyed the clutch and Zephyr Farms (http://www.zkftractors.com) rebuilt it for me and it's like new. I have to take full credit for destroyimg the clutch and no blame should go to DongFeng. I had originally purchased it with turf tires and I would pop the clutch too often to get a running start when trying to use it as a bulldozer, which it was now designed for. Since Chuck at Zephyr rebuilt the clutch (kindly repremanded me) and put ag tires with wheel weights it just pushes like the bulldog it is. I think a hydrostatic trans would be nice in some instances, but the additional cost and related complexity made me steer away from it. The loader itself has issues so I would recommend the Koyker brand if you get a DF tractor.

Several years ago, in Anchorage, we had a similar problem.

Spenard Lake is the worlds largest seaplane base. The lake has an island where seabirds nest and create a huge problem with all those rotating high speed parts.

Someone finally came up with an ingenious solution.

When the nesting season started the airport authorities dropped three little piggies off on the island. They kept the birds stirred up all summer and ate every egg laid.

And the best part? When the job was done the Police Employees bought the (now not so little) piggies and served them at the annual picnic.

Best pork I ever tasted.

I would assume water got into our gear oil through rotting shift boots, now there is what appears to be fluid mixed with water coming from the boot area and an overflow valve in the rear of the seat. We assume we need to change it but do not know where the drain valve is. From previous forums, I understand that regular gear oil (3.17 gal) is appropriate. Are we on the right track??<br>

3 yrs ago bought BX2200 w fb & MMM. Wife thought to big so bought BX1500 w MMM for her. Traded BX2200 for B7800. Have used 1500 for about 3 years now on 3 mowed acres of hill side and some what rough land. It's my mower of preference and occasionally use the 3pt for some light work. It will spin before it will quit. Bought a Kubota gas mower for a 3 acre Home Park and when it hits the slightest ditch or high bunp it spins and see the difference in mowers and BX's. Course lots of money difference. If land isn't flat get BX!!

Dennis..... I have had the same problems and traced it down to one rear tire loosing pressure and taking the tractor off level.

The best things to have on hand when changing 3 point stuff are a 6 foot steel pry bar and a BFH.....

I think that the best bet is to cross your fingers as you have as well as I and hope they don't leak.

Ken's thoughts of the tubing being compressed some is a good bet!

When my rear wheels were in the narrow position. There was not room enough for chains. I switched the wheels side to side to gain clearance. I do not operate hi speed with chains my max speed is about 6-8MPH other wise chains will hit the fender once they come over the top and start down. I do not use bungie straps on chains. Chains must be able to move on the tires, especially the R4 and R1's.

Last year I did not use chains at all. This year with the heavy wet rain soaked snow I could not hardly move. Chains are on the rear only at this time. The clearance on the fronts is not good and I have ripped the tie rod boot but greasing often keeps dirt out.

When I chain all four up it is because of extreme conditions and I am not the least bit concerned about the drive line. There is slippage enough.

As I said B4 I can wind up the driveline tighter doing dirt work with the Backhoe on then I have ever done in the winter on ice and snow.

I have stuck tractor in mud and snow were I could not chain the rears and only chained the fronts to be able to get out (nobody around to pull me out). I am not sure why I would want to run fronts only, unless I had a front wheel drive car.

Thanks Dennis, they were hidden out there. I am not sure what I did to my screen to cause them to be hidden.

Excuse the off topic question here but as long as we are talking about site improvement.... Remind me why when we attempt to reply to a thread, it takes us to the sign in again complete with password etc. I have a password manager that automatically adds in my user name and password so that's not the problem, but then when I do it takes me back to the sign on page and then I have to go find the thread I was looking at to post what I had wanted to originally and go through the posting steps again. Seems like a lot of unnecessary steps to me, but maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I am not too worried about this patent. Mine would be different enough that no one could sue a guy that made one for his own use that was not an exact clone. Mine could be a copy of the one they copied. Want to know where Delta brainstormed their design and why they used the delta name? Because it was called the Triangle quick hitch and the design is over 30 years old. The patent on that design ran out after 17 or 20 years didn't it?. Yes, they reference this model in their patent. They did change enough stuff to truly say it was patentable again but I like the father model better and homemade production could still improve on it making females that fit each implement rather than "one size fits none, but you can make it work". I think the triangle may be slightly harder to hitch without hyd top link, but gives more PTO room which could play a role with an offset gearbox like my 2 spindle bush hog. It would also put less stress on the locking mech. because it has a square interface rather than the angled that would naturally want to separate when pulling the implement. The father design is still available according to the web site, should you feel compelled to give the money to the original designer. I just don't yet know anyone with one that I could inspect it for ideas, measurments and improvements.

My 85 year old mother is in the same boat. Fortunately she is not turning mean like so many others do. Right now she is in an assisted living facility but will probably have to move to a full care nursing home this year. She is in another state and I'm fortunate to have brothers in her area that take very good care of her.

Kwschumm you are correct cholesterol only plays apart in cv disease the # one component is animal protiens and enzymes that cause the plaques to rupture. In areas of the world like rural china and pre wwII japan where the diet is totally plant based there was and is no cv disease.

A note to anyone thinking about a flat screen (LCD or plasma).

At the consumer electronics expo. in Las Vegas this week they just announced a new wireless protocol for televisions being promoted by a group of manufacturers including LG Electronics, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic and Intel called WirelessHD.

In basic terms, if you buy one of these new TV's all you have to do is plug it in to electricity, there is no need to run any other cables to it at all.

There are also several other companies are also promoting similar ideas. In fact LG and NetFlix has just announced a deal whereby the new LG TV's will be able to receive a movie on demand directly from the internet via wireless technology also.
