I was told the backhoe thw back hoes was a lower quality unit. Low breakout force, thinner gauge steel than other hoes, and also about half the price.

Are these dozers more reliable now

This year I would like to try a rear mount 51"-60" blower.<br>
I am having surprising trouble finding sources to compare and/or buy from. I am in the Boston area, would like to avoid a large shipping cost on top of a pricey item.<br>

Hi, I have a JD 755 and like everybody aspire to a larger tractor. In my case a 30 hp JD. I like to work on my own stuff so am Leary of upgrading to a computer controlled model. It frustrates me to no end that I am helpless to do much on my car and truck. please advise what was the latest pre computer model (4300?)I thought was the 4310 but I see ads listing E-hydro. Or is this a non issue, that is, are needed computer diagnosis or related problems rare.<br>

I will tell you this, if I wanted a machine for the primary purpose of using the backhoe I would go with the BX hands down. <br>

The backhoe is much better quality than the Deere 46 and it easier and more precise to operate. It trailers better to a job site and fits into smaller, tighter places.<br>

As far as power goes, maybe you can tell the difference between a 3 cylinder/23 HP and 3 cylinder/26 HP in the field but I can't.<br>

Now if you just don't like orange or are looking more at bucket size and lift capacity I can understand where the BX might look almost toy-like, but IMHO it is the best small B/H on the market and it performs just like the bigger dogs.<br>

If the dealer is telling you that you cannot scrape a little paint off the B/H bucket before you put your hard earned cash down...... maybe it is time to find another dealer??<br>

As to what I own, I have posted a pix in the #9 spot. It is a virtual twin to the 2520..... just a bit less HP at 24.

Head's off! Not good either, as the middle cylinder is a mess. It's obvious that the coolant has been leaking into that cylinder for a long time. Check out my pictures 16-18. I put kerosene in the cylinders and didn't get any leaking by the piston rings. Now I need to take the rest of the stuff off the casting. Hopefully, we'll find another head. The crack is in the shiny spot between the exhaust valve and the injector port. Doesn't look like it'd cause all this trouble, does it?<br>

Joel, the push rod was damaged about a third of the way from the top, and it kind of looks like it was already bent a little.<br>

I by passed the switch but it still didn't start.<br>
Next Checked and found the pto had the mower engaged.<br>
Disengaged the mower hit the key and tractor took off.<br>
Should have thought of checking the pto lever first.DUH<br>

Done about the same dumb thing with the BX1500 a couple of days ago.<br>
Was smoothing out the slag drive way with the front blade.<br>
Was digging in to deep and built up so much slag on both sides of the blade that I couldn't go forward or backward.<br>
Went to raise the blade and it wouldn't move.<br>
Got to checking and here the 3 point lever was clear to the back from having lifted the tiller. Returned the lever to center position tried the blade again and it lifted up and down just fine.<br>

You don't say where the nails are--like along the seam or overlap. I've used a flat pry bar slid underneath. It has a groove in it that would help center it around the nail shank. You may be able to pry the nail along with the roofing or, if you hit with a hammer--sher the nail head off, but it depends on if the nail is rusted an what type of wood it's in. You may not have any choice that to carefully rip the roofing around the nail head then go back and seal under the area and renail.

I've removed metal siding from barns for repairs and used Vicegrips to grab the head and twist them out. The heads will almost always bend but the Vicegrips will make that easy to pull'em out.

Can you access the nails from underneath? Maybe tap them out far enough to pull them out with a claw hammer???
If all else fails, carefully cut a small square around the nail head, leave it there, then seal around the area and renail on either side of the hole.

Sounds as though it is related to the change in leverage presented by the loader arms moving upward and the cylinder extending as the unit rises doesn't it?

I have not noticed the differences as you have other than the curl being more powerful.

I think I may have figured out the problem. After I made the post I went back and got the broken bolts and the top of the heads show no hardness marks. I am beginning to believe they gave me a bolt similar to a shear bolt like in combines or mower shafts. So I feel your first answer is the same one I came up with, soft bolts.
My neighbor here tells me one of the local tractor dealers has a good selection of metric bolts in several grades of hardness.
The lower bolt on this tractor doesn�t require a nut and lock washer, it goes through a threaded section of the lower housing of the alternator; the bolt threads completely through the housing and then tightens down; the end can be removed through the front plate with just finger pressure after the bolt is broken. The belt was measured with a straight edge before starting and is straight and when watched for any change in tracking while idling, no changes noted; the belt seems to running straight and true.
There doesn�t seem to be any problem with the bearing within the alternator while turning, everything seems to be smooth.
I am beginning to think the bolts I had were just too soft to hold up under any pressure at all.

Well, the obvious things include a bad pressure cap, a bad water pump, bad thermostat, bad head gasket, loose fan belt, misaligned fan shroud. But far more common with Chinese tractors is a clogged radiator. Chaff/chad compacts between the fins, air can no longer pass through. Worst place is behind the battery. In severe cases, the radiator has to be removed for cleaning. Compressed air is the best, pressure washers can cause permanent damage.

When the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap and stick your finger in. Any oil on your finger indicates a bad head gasket. Also on a cold engine, water will settle to the bottom of the oil pan. Loosen the drain plug almost all the way - just so you get a drip or two. If water comes out first, it's another sign of a bad head gasket.

I used to be a proponet of make-it-yourself trailers. The rising cost of materials sometimes just doesn't make it economically feasible.

What really changed my mind was there started to be a rash of failures resulting in deaths due to improper design and build---or even improper use--leading to multi-million jury awards. My buddy was involved in one such case two years ago (one of three parties---his part was $980,000) as he's (was) a trailer dealer. But he wasn't insured for "manufacturing" a drop ramp that he made on a trailer that he didn't even sell that came off a truck and killed a family and was sued. The truck was a landscaper who had a 2" ball for a trailer that was 2-5/16".

I realize where I live near Detroit is very litigous and that is backed up by very---nay extremely---enforced MDOT and USDOT laws. Some of our cities have specially certified DOT officers for their "money grab" as we call it. Not everyone has the "luxury" of Big Brother watching out for us I understand. But just a word to the wise that when you start making stuff that is used on public roads you accept sooooooo much liability by trying to save a would-be dollar or two. And insurance companies look for every weasely way out they can not to cover a claim.

But I'm jis' sayin'.

I need a repair or maintenance manual for a Misubishi D 3250 FD Diesel 37 HP. I have found many sites that have manuals, and many sites that even have Mitsubishi manuals, but not for this tractor.

Must be a common problem! I bought one that way and rebuilt it. A parts dealer in Pa. was helpful, then I bought another whole 2x4 tractor for parts. I built a reversing gear-box so the PTO runs the normal rotation, I also built an adapter from the metric spline to 1-3/8 standard. Makes the tractor alot more user friendly!

I am not so sure how easy it would be to position the loader if you had a good deal of trimming to do but for the occasional dangerous situation it would work fine. On the backhoe bucket it will be very easy to position.

Joel, they do build those options as standard equipment on tractors. You just need to find more reasons to buy an M-series!
