Add to the mix that wheel slippage of a 2 WD garden tractor on slopes can make you feel less stable than a Sub Compact with 4WD even though the Sub Compact has the higher COG.

To remove a plug actually opens the soil with a hole not just compressing it more. Some companies make it so they actually do push out to the side with the slice to leave a hole.
Both help the lawn grow better from what I've seen.

Price is very fair providing it has no major problems like the pumps need repair or replacing, or axle or trans issues. Those can really spoil a "good deal".

I know nothing of Long itself.

Sounds like you made a great choice for your needs. While I'd love a larger tractor, it wouldn't be practical for my application.

So far (9 hrs. on meter), the 2350 has done everything I've asked it to. I've re-graded and shaped 1200' of gravel driveway and drainages. I've moved dirt, gravel, and rocks numerous times. I've mowed several acres of grass and tall weeds. And I've carried the garbage out every Tuesday evening. Plus it fits in my 1 car garage shop. If it does well in a Pennsylvania ice storm with snow, I'm in hog heaven!

Has anyone used chains on their tractor and found them to be effective? I am a little afraid to play in the snow with my B7800 4x4 on my 1000 ft drive because of the steep dip in the middle, where our drive goes down and up thorough a ravine. I can just imagine that tractor stuck down there blocking even our cars from getting by.

Thanks for all the info. and help. I spoke with the JD rep and they won't do anything with the tractor, standard answer is that it is out of warranty. I must say they don't stand behind there products even though there is vey low hours on it. . I know this year or next will be my last with a JD. They won't have to worry about it happening again to me. Thanks for the info., you guys have been alot more helpful than Jd. Take care

I was unaware that Jinmas had four way flashers. Please clarify. To have both directional signals AND four way flashers, you need TWO relays. Flashers typically use a two prong relay, directional signals a three prong.

thanks to all for your response ,Today the dealer came and the tractor did not act up at all,then when he lift the tractor stalled out and I couldn't get it started.The dealer sent a flat bed and a shop guy how folled the fuel line (and u guys were right) as he disconnected the line from the bottom of the tank no fuel came out(1/2 a tank on broad)then it begin to drizzel out ,some crap came out and then it was free following ,reconnected the tube and it started right up.They took it to the shop for fuel problems and hope to get it back real soon.Again thanks to all ...Harry ;-)

By definition--- it's got nothing to with geometry, or power, or size of cylinders or the shape of the boom.

Here's what Cat says the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) definition is for wheel loaders:
Breakout force is the maximum sustained vertical upward force exterted 100mm (4") behind the tip of the bucket cutting edge and achieved through the ability to lift and/or rollback about the specified pivot point under the following conditions:
a. through g. are specs as to how to set up the machine for testing---level ground, no parking brake on, rear end not secured down, etc.

h. If the (hydraulic) circuit used causes the rear of the vehicle to leave the ground, then the vertical force value required to raise the vehicle is the BREAKOUT FORCE.

Thanks, y'all! I got the rams I mentioned before, but from your advice I have decided to go ahead and buy a 4X24X2 cylinder from Atwoods...priced at $199 with no shipping involved. That is, if I can slow down enough to get it done. With the winter coming on, there are too many jobs that I'd delayed doing this year. Oh, finally got the latest project done, a car we pieced together for my son. Have less than $300 in it...Oh, if only that was always the case! Check out picture number 7. I think I did well on this one.<br>
