I agree with everyone who has replied to this question.

If a tarp is used, it shouldn't extend any further than about half-way down. It should be used as a roof, more than as a shed. Use tarp straps to secure it, but don't let it drape to the ground.

Oiled canvas is better than plastic.

xmarine; Backhoe attachments for any size tractor that use only the three point hitch of the tractor to fasten them on are a bit risky for damage to the tractor. Your first point of damage will be the three point hitch of the tractor, they just arent built heavy enough to stand the rough use a backhoe can produce. The backhoe stabilizers help but a lot of strain still goes to the rear of the tractor. I personally have never saw a tractor broken in half from anything other than a souped up tractor pull tractor, but stories do abound, some true, some not. Remember there are people who could haul eggs in a dump truck and never break one and we also all know people who can break an anvil with a rubber hammer, a lot is to do with the operator. I don't know much about other brands, but Deere and Kubota both sell a subframe mounted backhoe attachment for their tractors that is not dependent on the three point hitch. These are much better systems and are very easy to mount and dismount. I have a # 48 Deere hoe for my 4310, I can have it on or off in ten minutes or less with no tools and no lifting, the Kubota system looks very similar and should work just as well. Give them a look, it may cost a bit more then a three point hoe but I think it is well worth the difference. Enjoy your day. Frank.

Well you are not really comparing apples to apples here as the comparable tractor to a 3203 is an L 3400 at least as far as Kabota thinks, as thats how they compare them on their website. The JD tractor is a little longer, and little wider and little heavier when you spec them out. The Kabota has 2 more horsepower in the 3400, and it shows down at the PTO as more. The JD has better preasures hydro wise, and it shows up in all the lifting specs,1868 vs 1435 at the 3 point hitch. One thing a person needs to be careful of here is that the 3203s are often advertised at just under 16 grand as a price leader, and that is with a Standard 300 series loader ................. DONT buy that loader, as it is the standard loader on a JD 790 and you wont be happy .... it only lifts about 850lbs . The 300X series lifts the same as the Kabota or about 1200lbs or so. And if you want to get the most outta your 3203, have them install the CX 300 series that lifts 1600 lbs. There has been alot of comments on forums here on the internet, about the 3203 not lifting as much as the other 32 hp tractors; and it all came from people buying them with the little 790 loaders on them???? The little 2800 Kabota is a fine little tractor, and a good friend of mine bought one used with 13hrs on it in MINT condition for 12 grand, and I tryed it out, and had to say that compared to the L3400 it is WAY low on power to run a hydrostatic transmission......... 29hp and hydro just dont get it........... and even 32hp in the 3203 is minimum. I thought that the 34hp Kabota worked sweet with the hydro but the little 29hp showed its weakness when we put it to work.............. as far as money goes if you shop hard you can buy a 3203 with an X series loader that lifts 1200lbs for say high 15 teens. You will pay 18,500ish for the L3400s and that was my choice after tying them out; but the $2300 savings on the JD with a heavyer loader swayed me to the "Greenline"
I bought the 3203 with a CX300 series loader, HD 73" Bucket,Block heater, and they loaded the rear tires with Rimguard for low 16's out the door..............
In short if you like a 2800 Kabota tractor that is a heck of a nice size, but if you want a hydrostatic trans then I would advise you to look into more horsepower???

that price seems steep, but I guess they all start to get up there when you throw on the hoe. Also, all back hoes seem expensive until you have a pipe freeze and break under frozen soil... and then they're worth every penny. The price you gave for just the machine was dead on to the unit I saw in McKinney, TX. They didn't have a back hoe, actually, I think they had just pulled the thing off the truck because the salemen knew very little about them. I will be very interested in how that hoes does.

I wonder how they do it with the boat, with single axle as far as 3500lbs per axle. The trailer is very heavy SINGLE AXLE with breaks (at least 1000lbs) and so is the boat (3500lbs). It's a very common setup trailer and boat from the manufacturer. I�ll check the GVWR on the boat trailer, I�m curious now.<br>

I just double checked web site to see if I was crazy, http://www.tige.com/models_20i.php yup boat weighs 3300lbs with no gas and 35 gallon tank (which IS in the back).<br>

Well, howdy neighbor. I'm located a ways north of Devils Lake, North Dakota.

You're right about the lack of snow last winter, but the forecast for this coming winter looks like it will be much colder and much longer......with possibly much more snow....so says the weather forecasters.

The coldest day we had last year was on Super Bowl Sunday.....with temps dropping to -42. What a miserable thing to wake up to. Barely awake, trying to get three vehicles running, as we had guests over for the game, and they stayed at our place for the night. Not enough room in the garage for all the vehicles. Oh well, the Nipco heater got them all running in about an hour.

Just hope we don't end up with as much snow as we had in 97. YIKES!

I may disagree with the crowd on this. The OP said he had 7 acres of BRUSH in TEXAS. Now I don't know all that much about Texas but my guess is it's dry, desert like country with scrub. If he hired it out he might save wear and tear on a new tractor but he wouldn't be having any fun in the process.

I do agree, and have said before, that picking the implements first and then matching a tractor to the implements is the right way to go.

Now what sort of land and brush are we dealing with here?

The best way to determine the value of your tractor is to contact your loan officer. He'll have a copy of the 2007 Agriculture Equipment Blue Book. He should be able to provide you with both the retail and wholesale value of your tractor, free of charge. This is the best and most accurate way to determine its value.

I appreciate your comments greatly. You're right. Heavy, wet snow, can be a problem even for a smaller blower.

I went with a blower that is actually a bit too big for my tractor. My tractor couldn't possibly handle the blower when at full capacity. However, rarely do I ever face such a situation.

In most cases, the blower gets used after receiving a few inches of snow. I try to get the yard cleaned up right away, because I don't like trying to blow the snow after it's been driven through, or after the wind has been allowed to pile it up. It's no fun trying to blow out hard-packed snow.

In those rare cases where we get 3 feet of snow, I simply take a smaller bite with the blower, and I also slow down quite a bit while blowing. This works great.

There's always a trade-off to consider. Bigger blowers cover more ground on a single pass, making short work of clearing the drive. Smaller blowers can be used at full capacity, without bogging down the tractor.

I picked a blower that falls somewhere in the middle. It's not a whole lot too big, but it's not too small either. Besides, my current blower will be a perfect match for my next tractor.

Chris; I'm in Iowa too. I don't mean to rain on your parade, but before you commit yopurself to ANY steel clad pole shed give a close look at a conventional frame building with a shingle roof. Shingle roofs don't leak, sweat or frost up. it's much easier to insulate, sheet rock, panel, wantever you want to do having conventional studs rather than poles to deal with. Now the amazing part, a conventional frame building with 2X6 studs costs amazingly little more than a pole shed. I just built my third frame shed and wouldn't even consider another pole shed. Check it out. Frank.

My Mitsubishi MTE1800D has electrical problems. The engine runs fine however none of the warning lights come on when you turn on the key. The eletric leveler on the three point hitch does not work. Head lights do not work.<br>

Can anyone give me an idea of what to do. Is there a fuse panel, if so I cant find it.<br>

Mark, I'm not familiar with the limits on the 'new' licenses, but there are a couple of categories you may not be aware of.

There is the much-talked about Light Sport lic. which is for lighter experimental type planes, these have come a looong way from the days of flying TV antenna's with chainsaw motors on them, they look and fly (and cost) like 'real' planes. In fact many older planes are being re-licensed as LSA (light sport aircraft).

There is also something called a Recreational license.

Again, I don't know about the FAA reg's but in Cannuckistan it works like this. A Private Pilot permit requires a MINIMUM of 40 hours ground school plus 45 minimum hours flying, of which 17 must be dual time, and 12 must be solo, 5 of the solo must be cross-country. On top of that you need to pass a Class '3' medical.

A Recreational license on the other hand only requires a MINIMUM of 25 hours flying time, and a Class '4' medical (lower limits and signed by family doctor not FAA approved doc.) with NO requirement for ground school, although it's recommended.

The difference is a Rec. lic. only allows flying a single engine plane certified for 4 persons or less, daytime hours, within Canada only and a maximum of one passenger. The only endorsement you can add onto it is a float rating.

BTW, the cost is out of whack down there too, up here it's $150/hour including the instructor. A couple of the big Florida flight schools websites show they're only charging $159/hour for a 172 with instructor.

If you were south not south-way-west I'd offer to do it for you.
