Be sure to get an excavator with a manual or hydraulic thumb too so you can grasp logs and stumps. And do yourself a favor and find a machine with a backfill blade. They can be just as useful as a small dozer, and if you're pulling a lot of stumps you'll have a lot of holes to fill as you go. And falling sideways into a hole is not good for productivity as it can double your time trying to get yourself out. Plus the holes will be filled beforehand when you go to grade with a wheeled machine.

And BA I see you tip-toed around buying a skid steer. With my tracks I was able to go places in Mississippi mud that only dozers could previously go. All you'd need is forks to dig out stumps----providing you can stand up on the soil. A grapple bucket would be handy too.

I'd look at the attack angle of the disc axles themselves. Too aggressive, and they will plow and plug up with weedy mud. You might want to adjust them so they're not so aggressive. That might force the weeds into the ground easier and cut those weeds that it can. And you probably don't have to go down deep too far either--maybe 4-6"

Like KT says, I would go in different directions, maybe even a 45 degree angle to the last direction. Give a few days to dry out and do it again. After several times you should have nice level soil.

And a higher ground speed of the disc may help too, but don't go down too deep otherwise it will bog and start to plow and plug up.

I'm not sure if you're asking for an adapter? If you ae TSC has them, perhaps.

If you PTO shaft is too long (I gather?) I have had good results cutting them down and rewelding them. You might even be able to cut the female tube first then the male for a good fitment.

In my opinion the electronics is the problem, if this is the same trans as the 4700 it should be pretty tuff.I have put 1200 hrs. on the 4700 with same box blade, B range. I really never had a major problem except creeping. The 4720 does OK until it gets pretty warm then I have to go to low range which is ok but why I've got 10 more HP to pull through the tuff spots. I put the cruise on it works fine, JD just needs to get it's act together, should be no reason the 4720 will work in B range. JB

I had a little 1500 4wd (19hp 2 cyl) Ford for 13 years. Bought used in 87 with a new "lineabach" (spelling?) 3ph dirt scoop. I used it for everything. When landscaping or moving a lot of fill I pull it as a slip scraper and drive forward in circles all day. When using a dump truck load of fill I'd use it backwards and back into the pile of fill.

Trust me when I say I moved a lot of dirt with that little tractor. I put almost 4000 hours on it. This place was a swamp.

Make sure that your 3ph will lift high enough so when the scoop is tripped it will be able to rotate all the way and give you clearance enough not to dig into the fresh dumped dirt. Mine had 2 sets of holes to mount the pins lower on the scoop.

I had about 7" of clearance which helped spread and level the fill.

I can not find the specs for the B6200 so unless it is extreamly narrow you should be ok.

I've seen it on smaller CUT's like this.

It usually results from an overloaded 3pth that experienced a massive shock load.

A good example would be carrying a heavy bush hog mower up in the air while roading it at a high rate of speed and hitting a bump. Say goodbye to the lift cylinder seals!! ;)

Dennis, I have a question. I know it was brought up a long time ago but not sure where it went from there. The thing about email notification, on a post you post to, not working. Did that get fixed or is it a thing of the past?

Also, on your post with the video on the 1/4 inching valve, that was pretty neat. I've heard about it for a long time but never really understood how it worked. You might want to put that on a new thread so it'll be easier for someone to find?

I just priced a new one today day for the new models on that chassis and it started just over 7,000 retail less freight and A&H. Bush hog won't save you much off that as I sell those to and find that unless early order discounts are used they are normally the same money!

The 790s a pretty dog simple machine. I can't imagine there would be any complicated electronics involved.

If she is turning but not burning I would look to the fuel system. Maybe you need a new fuel filter? Perhaps when working under the hood you dislodged a wire to the fuel pump?

Maybe check your owners manual for fuse locations and test each one.

Let me throw in a good word for LandPride products. They surely aren't in the KK price range, but the quality is outstanding. Make in Kansas, I believe. Make sure you spend the extra money and get the slip clutch option. Take a look at their RCR26 model.

From that angle, I understand. I've worked F-16 aircraft so long that catching any possible spills is second nature. The Air Force is always under some incredible scrutiny for environmental blunders. It wasn't always that way, but now that we're (taxpayers) are writing big checks for cleanup of old bases, there's no leniency given to the mechanic who "trips" with a bucket of (whatever)out behind the aircraft shelter. I teach the new enlistees the fine art of being an F-16 crew chief...and I love it. Oops, chasing rabbits again.

Sounds like the hydraulic pump is shot. I'd put a pressure gauge on it, or have a qualified tech do it.

New seat arrived today and it is great! Completely different feel of the tractor driving position due to change out from older lazy L seat. I like it.

Not bad, one day after complaining of my sore arse the seat arrived at the house when I got home from work, no cost to me. Great dealer!

If I understand you (disclaimer), in this case it shouldn't matter which goes where. You find it doesn't work the way it was designed until you switch it back.

I have had situations like this and by trial and error put it back together with 80% success. On the "good side" left was right and right was left--it was easy to switch the lines back again.

On the "bad side", I blew a pump, okay 2.
