It depends on the manufacturer of the back-to-front kit. Most of them mount to the drawbar mounting bracket only in the rear and is hydraulically raised and lowered.

With a kit like that, yes, you still have full use of the 3pth.

If you have one of the simpler, non-hydraulic kits, possibly not, a lot of those units are raised and lowered via a cable and pulley system to the 3pth lift arms. The lift arms pull the cable which raises the snowblower, lowering the arms allows gravity to set the blower down.

Kenneth, if you can get that Takeuchi for a decent price I wouldn't worry much about a dealer nearby or not. Most of these machines are just a bunch of over-the-counter components bolted into a group of weldments.

As long as you can get your hands on a manual, the parts will be readily available locally. The engine, hydraulic systems and such will all be bought from major manufacturers such as Yanmar or Mitsubishi, etc.

Yes, we put them on other tractors. The subframe is different for each manufacturer. If we have done the tractor, or have access to the same model, we can make the subframe.

We woulsd just need some dimensions of the bucket. We mount our Forks, Bale Spears, Blades, etc. off a load bar attached accross the front of the loader bucket. We don't hang anything off the cutting edge like some other manufacturers. We have seen too many bent up buckets from cutting edge mounted attachments.

My SHibaura 700D-0 is rated at 22 hp. But don't let that fool you. It is one powerful little machine. Its cylinder displacement is 850cc and she generates a load of torque! The largest machine I operate with it is a Pixall Pull Pix for Beans that is 25' long and weighs a ton. She slings the mechanism with very little effort and picks beans even in a heavy vines or weeds with no problem. Pixall recommends at least 40 hp mainly because of the hydraulics. I connected the picker to my draw bar and adjusted the range of my power lift to not exceed 2" below my pto shaft so as to not damage it. We pick beans at 4 mph 1.5 bushels per minute. <br>

She also slings a 5' cutter well in the first 3 forward gears. Japanese tractors like this one were designed for roto-tilling and have a multiple speed pto. We operate the picker at 540 rpm. We also use a 48" rotary tiller in low gear only. Slow but effective.<br>

Most likely "the other way around". :)

The solenoid needs power to stay open, losing 12 volts shuts off the fuel supply and stops the engine. Something is wired wrong. When you let go of the key, the power supply is likely being shorted to ground, causing the fuse to pop, and the solenoid stops the engine.

I forgot to mention that there are four bolts involved with this.

Two bolts run vertically, through the top of the lower ears on the steering valve. There is one on the left, and another on the right side of the valve.

The other two bolts are located on the right side of the tractor and run horizontally through a metal plate, which is welded to the tractor's frame, and then into two tapped holes in the right side of the steering valve. These holes are located a bit higher on the valve, and to the rear.

All four bolts are 17mm. You may have to turn the wheel just a bit in order to reach the bolts, as the steering arm runs directly in front of one of these bolts.

My son helped me tighten these bolts again yesterday. The entire job, from start to finish, took less than 20 minutes.

The most difficult part of this job is getting the roll pin out and back into the throttle lever.

I'm going to make a special "C" clamp for this job, by drilling a hole in one end, and welding a pin punch to the screw. This tool will make this job very easy to perform in the future, as it will eliminate the use of a hammer, punch, and a second person to support the throttle lever.

I'll place the open hole over one end of the pin, and then place the pin punch into the pin on the other side. When I turn the screw on the special "C" clamp, it will push the roll pin out of the throttle shaft, and straight through the hole in the other side of the clamp. This tool should cut the repair time by about half.

I don't believe you'll find an operator's manual printed in English for the Yanmar 17D tractor, meaning that it is a gray market machine.

My advice would be to stay away from it.

Joel, I studied, law amongst other things, at the expense of Uncle Sam, it doesn't mean my brain doesn't work on it's own, or that I can't come to my own conclusions.

The Constitution is quite clear, and written in quite plain language. Even the link you included makes "...and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be..." unequivocal. Places is plural, not singular. The word States, again is plural, and is not meant to mean a State within the US, since at the time the Constitution was written, there were none. It was meant, and still does, as my dictionary calls it "a politically organized community". This is why for example official functions of a nation are called "State Functions".

I agree, argueing this point further would not be usefull.

The value placed on these tractors is different from one part of the nation to the next. In some regions of the U.S. a tractor of this size is highly desirable.

Your best bet is to pay a visit to tractorhouse.com, or machinefinder.com to compare prices in your area.

Boulter, given your location, I'm assuming then that the screen name is related to the road and or village name? I know the area well, our family summer place is at Carnarvon and being a pilot I'm up that way quite a bit, Stanhope and such.

Anyways, if your size is such that those machines are a little too cozy for you, I would suggest you get into a couple of mid-sized (40 - 65 hp) North American tractors and see the difference. It doesn't sound like a little more tractor would hurt any in your case, and for bush work and things like that, you will like the extra heft of the bigger unit.

Unless you plan on some serious off-roading work, a 2WD tractor with GOOD tire chains will go almost any where, especially if the ground is frozen, or at least very firm, they are not great in mud.

Also, if you plan on using it for snow removal, you will have a better shot at finding something priced better with a cab on it.

I don't know what you've budgeted for a tractor, but I can tell you, you will get a REALLY nice used 2WD 'chore tractor' for about half the price of a new TC35.....

As for your post holes, how well do you know the guy with the local septic tank truck? A water tank, a pressure washer and a septic tank truck (honey wagon) will have those post holes done in a few hours.

Murf, have done the stump drilling as you said but did not use the chemical you mentioned. Too many years ago to remember if we used anything on the pine but the hardwoods used salt only to keep them from sprouting.

Art, I have not seen a M series with backhoe here but there are many of the B and L. Probably half of all in that size range here are Kubotas.

Candoarms, the barter system works well at times. I have a brother, friend each with TLB that is available for my use as SOON AS THEY get out the shop or back home or such. Have only be 3 years on one and 1 on the other. Did think of another friend with large excavator (if still working) sitting within 400 yards of where the work area is who may be open to swap with. The barter system is being lost sadly with the passing of the oldest generation. Those people really lived by it and here were very willing to loan to you because you would to them freely.

I realy appriciate the suggestions you put. I also realized I am too rush. So many things need to prepare and research. Buy the property just first step. I will go to our county extension office first. Visit more local people to get the whole picture of the operation. About organic possiblity, one of the advantage of this land is it is at least 2000' away from any traditional farm land.Lot of trees in the between. The only piece next to my land is vacant too.<br>

Wildlife problems is very serious here too. Because three sides of the open area have trees, I think I may put deer fance direct on the tree, only south part need some poles. Don't know it will works or not if use 6 line tension fence like the url below. or Electric deer fence?

More information on your planned usage for this tractor would be very helpful, if not absolutely necessary, before purchasing ANY tractor.
