In the early years the Swiss banks took incredible amounts of money in on deposit from wealthy Jewish families concerned about the way things were going politically.

Later the Swiss passed several laws, one which said a non-citizen could only withdraw money in person, and another which forbid entry to anyone who's passport started with the letter "J". The Nazis had forced all the puppet governments in occupied countries to add the prefix "J" to passports of known Jews. This amounted to the confiscation of an innocent persons assets for no reason other than race.

That is NOT neutrality.

There is a vast difference between legitimate business and criminal activity.

I've tried using a blade mounted to the loader arms. It's never worked for me, nor for anyone else here in North Dakota.

Of course, our snow drifts get hard enough to drive over, due to the wind and cold. The drifts are very solid.

If our snow drifts didn't pack in like concrete, I'm sure a blade on the front loader would work great.

I now use a snowblower, due the fact that our drifts are so hard. My tractor's front tires just slide off to one side when hitting the drifts with a blade.

SYDNEY, Australia (AP) - An Australian court ordered a man to hand over a vintage plane worth about $215,000 after he tried to back out of an eBay auction, a newspaper reported Friday.
The New South Wales state Supreme Court ordered Vin Thomas to complete the deal after he changed his mind about selling the 1946 World War II Wirraway plane he had placed on the Internet auction site last year, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Peter Smythe, a Australian warplane enthusiast, was the only person to bid on the item, matching the $128,640 reserve price just moments before the auction ended in August last year.
But Thomas had already agreed to sell the plane to someone else for $85,800 more than Smythe's offer, and backed out of the sale, the newspaper said.
Smythe took Thomas to court, hoping a judge would force him to follow through with the deal.
Judge Nigel Rein agreed, saying the eBay auction formed "a binding contract between the plaintiff and the defendant and ... should be specifically enforced."

Maybe I missed it, but was that a rhetorical comment? I mean IMHO, we don't "need" foreigners to buy our companies. However, I think if you look at what really drives sales of publically-held businesses, it is the shareholder that drive it all in the name of profit. And sure the execs have a lot to benefit from the sale too.

I live outside Detroit. It's nearly all automotive-driven here (pun intended). I get sick to my stomach when I hear on the nitely local news that the Big 3 are laying off AGAIN to improve shareholders' profit. That means yet another well-paying job evaporating that I won't be able to do work for.

Eight years ago I worked in the automotive engineering field for about 10 years. I can tell you there is a big connection to reduced quality with higher profits. Quality does suffer. The privately-held company I worked for was a supplier to many foreign auto companies and the Big 3. The Big 3 were/are pain in the asses when it came to making a product for them. First off they demand to see your "books", then they literally dictate to you what your profit margin will be. Then they come back the following year and tell you that you WILL make a reduction in cost even though they know you are hardly making it as it is. Then, they use "OPM" (Other People's Money") and don't want to pay for at least 120 days and as much as 6 and 9 months. Suppliers aren't banks to float them a loan while they pay big dividends and bonuses. I have seen products that were designed right at the beginning and produced right get pared down to the point they are useless because "bean counters" demanded any all profit be squeezed out. And I have seen some smaller shops literally tell one of the Big 3 to go f%$#! themselves when it came time to audit their books for another round of cost cutting. The owner shut his business down.

And the cost-cutting trickles down to the ranks too. I was told I had to take a 10-15% pay cut. SO I told my boss to go to hell (AND I got a raise not too long after that too!). Why? Because I was not only doing the work but did the cost quoting, so I knew what the profit was.

It's way too easy for Corporate America to tell the guy in the trenches --the "cash cow" if you will, to take a pay cut AND improve quality AND production all in the name of saving the company money, while the fat cats (managers, executives, and the like) get to keep the status quo of bonuses, perks and the like. I'm talking equity.

What I'd like to see is a more or better post titles---better descriptions. Things like "need seal" or a just model number or "help" gets mundane trying to click on them to read only to find out something different.

Frank,

My daughter called this morning. We didn't call last night because officials asked all people not to use the phone services, due to rescue personnel needing the communications lines.

My daughter got married last weekend. Her husband travels 35W on a daily basis. He was on his way home last night when the bridge collapsed. He's fine. He had gone over it about 15 minutes earlier.

I haven't heard from any of my friends, nor my two cousins. We're hope and pray that the number of dead and injured doesn't climb, but we're expecting it to.

Does the 3320 have a cab for 20,000? I paid 29,500 or maybe 28,500 (can't remember) for a 3520 cab 300cx loader 4n1 bucket and electric diverter valve and 60" mid mount mower w/turff tires. I bought mine when they first came out and they did not want to deal very much.

I have a 4+ acre piece I need to maintain and though I use the 72" rear finish mower, I need something that will maneuver around fence lines, kenneling and bushes. I also like leaving the back hoe on my L2800 at times and like the ability to swap out 3pt attachments along with mowing. A zero turn in my mind is too much money for only one use. I am coming to the same conclusion that going with a real tractor like a bx is better than some of the tin cans they call mowers. I did look at the JD's in that size and don't believe they are worth the money. You pay more initially for a real tractor, but you don't lose out in the mid to long term. I love the L2800 and works well for what I need, I just want to add to my tool chest.

Don't know what happened to the first time I posted this, guess I have to try again. My experience has been the opposite. I recently purchased a light duty 60" Futon rotary cutter for $470 - out the door. Expecting a noisy clatter, I was pleasantly surprised at actually how quiet the Futon was - for a rotary cutter. It's no louder than my 84" First Choice finish mower. Got a few dozen hours on the Futon now, it works like a champ, easy to work on, and - surprisingly - even has a vented fill cap.

Does anyone know anything about a 3-point hitch Cosmo brand wood chipper? I live close to one for sale, which is listed for up to 3-inch stuff. It's not large, and I need something about that size. I will look at it this weekend, but in a photo, it looks well-used.<br>

I know for storage this selection may not be practical, but I believe that a serious consideration would be a an L-series tractor. I traded in my BX22 for a L2800 w/ bh75+fel and am very glad I did. You don't get the mid pto, which I don't need, but you get a lot of tractor for the money. Not many bells and whistles, but a great work horse and would put a big dent in the remaining 95 acres should you decide to go there. Art sold me on making the selection last year, I would like to know what he thinks.
