Thanks, candoarms.Neighbors and local dealers' answers are mixed. Form my observing, they use both. Either R1 or R4, traction or flotation. May be R1W is my best choice, but no model have that choice. :-( <br>
Another dummy question, can I use R4 front tires and R1 rear tires together in my situation?? the DK40SE I am looking, the front R1 only 8"(8-16/6) and R4 is 10"(10x16.5/6) wide. And change front tires sounds little easier because FEL can lift.<br>

Well I have gone and done it now. My BX 23 with over 800 hours at 35 months old while moving dirt, blew the hydro transmission. No leaking of fluid. Just no go back and forth�� kills the engine even if you are in neutral and hit the pedal. Nobody can tell me what or why it had happened. The dealer has not ever seen it happen on a Kubota. Have any of you out there had this happen. Any idea of cost? It has been in the shop now 2 weeks, they are thinking I may get it back next week, (waitng for replacement) they have no idea yet the cost to me�� That worries me. Haven�t paid it off yet, still on their payment plain��..man I am bummed.

Dear friends,

The ebay seller mentioned above has attempted to sell the same tractor in six different ebay auctions. He has also listed a B7500 tractor for $2700.00, for a total of 7 different auctions.

All seven auctions have been terminated. The seller no longer has any auctions listed on ebay.

Thank you for the scoop on the oil filter, I will try out that number. Are you using synthetic oil in your tractor? And and the same for the gear oil?

It's not the cyl. I loaded it with a woods rm990 mower and it stayed up until i took the load off, (over 2 hrs.) I fell the valve shouldn't leak down that fast, maybe over night. Lee

I addressed that already Mike; see my post 143481 above where I described remoting the fresh air intake with a section of vacuum hose.

Another reason for not leaving the hood partially open - even for a TEST - is paint and fiberglass damage from vibration. Been there - done that - just ain't got the Tshirt to prove it.

No add ons the block heater is the in block type not in the hoses. I have never seen this type of problem on a motor before. Even winter operation of a snow blower 60 in. size,you have to watch the temp gage and this is on a cold day. This why I tend to believe the impeller amy have spun loose from the. To change the water pump you almost have to pull the rad, its pretty crowded is there.

I just wanted to let everyone know that i got my BX1850 this weekend and i love it. My wife got on and was able to start mowing within minutes. As short as she is (5-nothing with shoes) she could reach all the controls with no problems. She just doesn't understand the need to all the extra levers. The one and only issue she need was pulling the throttle back.<br>
Did not really get a chance to use it much. Everyone laughed at me when i put on the loader and loaded it with chairs, fishing poles, tackle, and beverages just to go fishing. Then they saw how easy it was and laughed harder.<br>
We did not get it with the new seat, but when the dealer gets it he will bring it down.<br>

Iam; I think you have answered some of you own questions.
5500. in an old 560 that still needs a TA, paint, leaking lines, repaired all after you get the engine fixed is going to get out of hand dollar wise to the point you could buy a later model tractor that is running. I think I would take what ever it will bring and divvy up with the brothers.
Replacing the TA will cost you 7-900 depending on whether you want them heavy duty or standard version. If you haven't replaced one read the book completely before you start, the planetary gears all have timing marks on them that must be in time, etc. You can get a TA bypass kit that takes you back to the basic five speeds, but the bypass kit is I think around 500. all of this if you supply the labor.
I am not a big fan of three point mount backhoes, most anyone who has one or has had one will agree that they can tear up the three point hitch of a tractor pretty quick if you get a bit aggressive with the hoe. If you are handy with a welder or even if you hire a blacksmith to do the work I'll pass on what a neighbor of mine did. He bought a used Kelly three point hoe, put it on his 656 Farmall, used it once and took it off for good. He used some eight inch channel that he welded to the hoe frame, they extend forward under rhe rear axles of the tractor where he made a coupler of some kind that fastens the ends of the channel to the side rails of the tractor just behind the radiator. He backs the tractor over the frame, connects the front ends of the channels, then connects the three point arms to the channels with some chains, lifts it up to match some brackets on the rear axle housings that have a pin hole to match a clevis on the channel. He puts the pins in releases the three point chains, the hoe is firmly attached to the tractor. Frank.

The other place a turf excels over an Industrial (R4) tire is on sand or very loose soils.

In very dry conditions an R4 will tear up overly dry browned out turf, where in almost every case a turf tire will leave it untouched.

While I've held off buying an RTV or Gator, we do have the original of that style of machine, the I-R Toolcat, there is a BIG difference between them though.

As has already been stated, an RTV or Gator seems to be not much more than a golf cart on steroids.

However, in my case the Toolcat was bought for, and continues to be for, a single site, and it never leaves there except for service work that can't be done in the field.

If we ever get stopped from using trucks on our sites, and they're talking about it lots now, I will certainly buy an RTV or three, but until then it's just an extra vehicle I don't (yet) need.

David, there is a short answer to your question about ensuring a fit without spending $750 to do so.

Find someone with a John Deere 4010, 4110 or 4115, a dealer with a trade-in model in inventory maybe, who will let you unbolt their ROPS and see if it fits your machine.

In fact, if it's a JD dealer, you may even be able to talk them into it by letting you go home with the used one and paying them for the new one to go on their machine.

i just bought a Kubota L295DT w/ a 1200 HD Loader.
The loader won't work unless you go full throttle to get it working. once it starts working it works even at idle. any ideas why or possible fix?

Sorry about the multiple replies, but I keep coming up with other ideas. An original JD manual is still availble new from John deere also. A paper manual is number SM2035 and costs around $125. A CD version, SM2035CD is available also for around $65. This option is less expensive and you can print out the pages you want to work with. Call your local dealer for his exact prices. They may vary.

I too am still puzzled as to why you need the stabalizers to mount the hoe. Yes the hooks on the hoe frame that the three point pins lift from must be correctly adjusted, but other than that there just isn't anything else to go wrong. I just mounted mine last evening, it came right up holes almost go past a bit, just back off the three point lever a tic and the pins slide in freely.
EW; You are correct to a point with your misalignment theroy. either one of the rear tires can be a bit low without any effect on alignment, soon as the three point arm pins grab the hooks on the hoe frame it lines it'self up instantly before it gets anywhere near the position to put the pins in the top holes. Front to rear level of the tractor, loader on the ground,in the raised position don't matter. if both front tires wer completely flat would be too much, but again this mounting system is quite forgiving unless you sit the hoe off in an extremely side lean positon which I did once, yes then you have a problem. Thanks guys! Billy I'll try your idea first since its a very simple way to check if its a brake problem. I don't know why I didn't think of it.

I guess that's why us 1 tractor guys appreciate you 5 tractor guys (and everyone else who is helpful). I just have wait until these thunderstorms stop rolling through and hope there is some sunlight left.

If that doesn't point to the brakes then earthwrks I'll check out your suggestions and go from there.

Billy to answer your question, yes it is a hydrostatic transmission. It hasn't been serviced in a few years but I've only put about 30 hours on it.

A typical vapor barrier in just sheet plastic. By its very nature of being in rolls it's already "compromised" when it goes down as there is no sealing of the overlapping joints. I have removed concrete slabs (patios, driveways, sidewalks) that when broken and sitting on ground awaiting pickup actaully were weeping stored ground/surface water. I tell people who are dead-set on using reinforcing wire mesh that it is useless. Reason being that the first time the concrete cracks, water or moisture will corrode the mesh weakening it eventually leading to failure.

It seems AnnBrush has an issue with BearCat as well as Winco- again sorry to hear your equipment is giving you so much of a pain.

But my post was not BS and I wonder how well you maintain your equipment, which would probably answer why you seem to have so many issues.

I maintain all of my equipment and keep it garaged.
