Not sure how "mucky" your muck is, but you may want to consider renting a dozer. Sounds like you have a lot of acerage to deal with. The JD may be able to cross the mucky area, but once you have the FEL loaded with wet soil, the front tires are going to want to sink in. I think you need to figure out your drainage patterns, then create some ditches to intercept the surface runoff. You may be able to dry out some of these areas without having to move so much material.

The tractor should do fine with most of the other jobs though. GLuck

MArk, it sounds like the lever that acctuates the 3pth lift is out of adjustment, that's all.

If you have not been using the 3pth it is likely this has been the case for some time but you just didn't know it.

There is a relatively simple adjustment on most tractors that involves loosening the two jamb nuts on the shaft that comes out through the side of the rear end and moving the lever a little then re-tightening the nuts.

Of course you can also just not move the lever that last 1/2" that is the problem also. ;)

Blueman; Thanks for your inquiry about Steve. Things aren't going quite as well as we had hoped. Even though no other cancers were detected in the MRI, the Doctors are concerned there may be others that are too small for the MRI to detect. The plan was then changed to start the high rate Chemo this coming Wednesday, then after four sessions at two week intervals the cancer would be considered killed, then the lung tumor removed. Unfortunately a week ago today Steve started running a fever caused by Pneumonia in the lung from lack of air circulation being the tumor is blocking an airway. Two different antibiotics were tried with no results so he has been hospitalized since Saturday with a 103 fever and still at the same level as of an hour ago. He is weak enough this morning that he can hardly speak. Frank.

The only safe way to burn a stump is AFTER it has been removed from the ground.

As Ken said, they've been known to smoulder away underground and re-appaer a long time and distance from where they started.

If the stump is small, it should come out without too much trouble.

HE GUY,

I know this isn't going to be of much help to you, but I just saw one of these things go up for auction at Proxibid.com.

The unit was for sale in Nebraska. It sold, with all attachments, for just over 300 dollars.....in perfectly working order; but for the sickle mower blade, which needed some work.

Keep an eye on proxibid for other such items that come up for sale at these farm retirement auctions. You'll be surprised what comes up, as well as the prices they go for.

I'm guessing that you could acquire the entire machine, at auction, for less than you'd spend on a single replacement gear.

Provided the tractor is in reasonably good working order, I think you've found yourself a deal.

Tractorhouse.com has listings for two (2) different L245H Kubota tractors. One is listed at 6500, and the other at 4500 dollars. Neither include any implements.

Should be a good choice for the amount and type of land you are maintaining.

Could the lower hose be collapsing when pump is pumping? Have you tried flushing the cooling system? Have seen tractor with cool radiator due to it being clogged. kt

There is someone locally selling a TC55DA with a Woods 72" heavy duty brush hog for $16500. It is two years old with 48 hours on it. If it were 4wd, I would probably jump on it, as my dad and I have about 80 acres that we are trying to keep in check without cattle or sheep anymore. It appears the only options are a ROPS canopy and 6 large suitcase weights on the front. The owner bought it new from my local (Bull International) NH dealer, and the ad states it has a year left on the warranty. Anyone want to venture what this guy paid for this new?

Frank your thinking of the other guys tractor! The Kubota 4310 was 45 engine gross 43 net and 37.5 PTO horsepower. There were no issues with these tractors when they were built or even today. They seem to run out great easy enough to run 3,000 hours with no aggravation at all and much more if given proper upkeep!

They both have two ranges to distribute the power and they are both very equal on power. They both only will take a 60" deck but the 7510 does have larger tires which will give you a smoother ride. The best bang for the buck is to move up to the larger B-s with the three range and the 72" deck.

A hydro is hard to beat on a snow blower as you can go from 0 to 15 without shifting. I'd recommend the middle range which has great power to about 7mph. With the new hydro's it's like a six range instead of just three to really give you good speed control to conditions. I think you should try driving one as you might be suprised. The Kubota gear drives are easy shifting but for pto work you can't out work a hydro.

I think the price is good, but the 0% for 5 years is the good one. That could amount to over $4000,00. That is one good selling tool, also it seems you like the tractor.

I have a softner and something was impeding the flow so much I couldn't take a shower, so I opened the softner by-pass valve and I got full pressure (indicating the softner was at fault). Closed the valve and ran two manual back-to-back regeneration cycles and suddenly I got full pressure back. I don't know what caused it but its running fine now.
