Also, a few weeks prior to that he ran it at 2500 rpm and it says the max is 540 rpm. Would that have caused a delayed damage effect?

I'm not trying to blame the guy, I just don't want egg all over my face when I take this in for warranty service.

Extra weight the CUT carries around will lead to earlier wear on bearings, seals, tie rod ends etc. From a practical standpoint, no, leaving them on isn't a big deal. However, if the ground isn't flat you're raising the center of gravity which isn't good. The extra weight will contribute to rutting if the soil/grass isn't stable.

I test-drove a guy's CUT with a MMM and FEL installed. He left the MMM on all the time---even when doing loader work. I saw about a five gallon bucket full of dirt loaded up on the deck surrounding the $pindles and everything el$e that moved. I passed on it, and bought new.

Anyone know for sure if a creeper option is available for the 3240 FST? The specs PDF on the Kubota website says creeper available for gear trans but the features PDF mentions creeper for the GST but says nothing about creeper for FST. I know with the 3130 creeper was only available for the GST. Thanks for your help!

When I get done mowing the right of way, which is about 1/8 of a mile, and am on my way back to the garage I raise the deck and then drop it about one inch so the deck does not make the bumping noise like it does in the full raised position. I think it sounds worse than it really is though...

I have a Woods RD 8400 and like the mower but would like some input regarding tire options. I have had flats on all of them so far and would like to find out if anyone knows of a manufacturer of a solid tire that is durable. I purchased a solid tire at tractor supply and it did not last a whole mowing session (5 acres worth)before the bearings in the hub self destructed.<br>
Any input would be appreciated.<br>

Thank goodness I finally decided which tractor I wanted. Now for the price. I'll be bald before this is over. Seems like a good dealership and 10 miles away. They have a B3030HSDC 18094, LA403 loader 3511 and FM 604 mower 2100 which totals 23705. If this sounds good I'll go for it. Celburne, Texas. I didn't really haggle with him. Thanks

Just an additional safety comment to EW's suggestion. When you park it on a slope, get off of the tractor on the uphill side. If you are truly at a tipping point, just shifting your weight by getting off may cause the tractor to roll over on you.

I've used this testing method a number of times on my property with my BX and I was pleasantly surprised as to how much slope it actually took to make the tractor tip prone. A good idea is test it at several points on you property to know you are good to go everywhere.

Suggestions to use a box blade and FEL as a ballast and to lower them is a good one. Just don't forget to lower them as low as they will go if you are not actually using them because when they are raised they will substantially change you center of gravity.

An Update on Steve's condition; Thank each and every one here for your prayers and concern, I've passed all of your correspondence on to Steve and his wife, they couldn't believe how many good friends I have here who are concerend for us. It has been determined that it is not "Lung Cancer" as such but a cancer in his lung. Today they did an MRI that included some radioactive element injected into his blood stream that would pinpoint any orher cancers in his body. No others were found. The Doctors said this is highly unusual as stray cancer cells normaly go to the liver or limph nodes before going to the lung. if they had found other tumors in other parts of his body they would have started high rate Chemo Monday, but being only the one tumor about the size of a chicken egg in his lung was found the new plan is to remove it then follow up with a low dosage of Chemo. So this was good news, your prayers are already at work. Frank and Lucile.

Annbrush - ha! Yep I'm not the only one having problems. I just returned the HP laptop with AMD processor since I was going to have to call India again to get my wireless working. I exchanged it for a Lenovo with Intel dual core 1.6mhz, 2 Gig memory. It is much faster and no more problems with wireless. I wanted to give a non-IBM a try but it didn't work out for me. Don't get Vista without factoring in the 2 gigs memory.

I still haven't managed to get my HP 1012 laser jet working. I even tried setting it up as a network printer. I will return the linksys wireless print server hardware I just bought. At this point it will just be cheaper to buy a new printer. Unless I can figure out how to manually configure the printer.

I have a Tc30 & 7308 loader it goes on & off like a breeze on level surface. It will take a few attempts until you get used to it, but no problem. sometimes mine is on & off several times in same day. I also use a 930b(NH) finish mower and R4 tires. Dont waste money on turf tires, only problem is medium reverse is too fast for backing and turning when mowing. Mow in M1 back and turn in 2wd low range.

The original seat is terrible.
I almost purchased a JD2305 just because of the seat.
But i really like the engineering of the kubota better. The design just seems more thought out and exicuted. But seating operating ergonomics of the JD2305 are the best of all sub compacts that i looked at. Getting off the JD2305 is another thing, all those levers hit me in all the wrong places.

The oil cooler is a replaceable item on the out side of the engine. It is interesting to note that normally the 40 plus pounds of oil pressure will send the oil into the coolant nearly everytime. There is a small occasion that they will leak the other way about one in 5000 for what I've seen.

The cavitation will only allow antifreeze to go into the block from the bottom of the sleeves when they leak. This can normally be detected when leaving the engine sitting for a 24 hour period and you remove the drain plug very slowly as the first fluid out will be anti freeze as it is heavier the oil. The chance of fixing only one sleeve and having it be the end is rare. Cavitation is on the warm side of the block or on the cam side and will normally be on any of the sleeves in the center of the block although signs of it will still be on the outer cylinders.
When you have cavitation some have tried to fix the sleeves with jb weld and other types of metal replacer and then turn them around on the cylinder putting a fresh side of the sleeve to the inside of the block. We've often called it a "western rebuild" as that is where our farmers bought them.

I have a TC33D and use it commercially to do grading and brush cutting. It will pull anything 6' wide with ease even in heavy clay. Got to be 4x4 though--2wd is a waste of time and money. If you go with a D/DA you'll get some very nice features such as suspsended seat, tilt/telescope wheel, cruise control, etc. If you have some extra money spring for the Super Steer which makes installing a MMM easier.

Before I go much further, I want you to know that I'm jealous. :) hehehe. I really wanted a B7610 when I went looking for a tractor, but I couldn't find one in the price range I was willing to pay, as the only option available was a brand new one off the dealer's lot. (Yikes!) The price turned me away.

I settled for a 2001 model B2100. Don't get me wrong.....I like my tractor a whole lot, but I sometimes wish I had a little more power for tilling with a larger tiller. Additionally, I could have used a slightly larger Front End Loader. The bucket on the B2100 is far too small to do any snow removal work. However, it works great for clearing out those smaller areas between the doors, sidewalks, etc.

Now I always thought the quarter inching valve was a luxury that I should have had on my tractor, but after reading your comments I'm no longer so sure about that.

If you could try to explain the drawbacks of the quarter inching valve a bit better, so that I can get a firm grasp of the problems with it, I'd appreciate it much.

I use a 72 inch RFM on my B2710 which is 27 hp gross and it does fine. I have some thick zoysia that can require me to slow down. I have HST and normally cut with it in mid range with no problem at full ground speed. Don't have a FEL on mine, but you probably would want to drop it before cutting. Am assuming your lawn is very level for such a wide mower. If I were buying again, I would want a rear discharge deck so I could trim with either side. kt
